  1. A little old, but might still be true. https://dawnofthedawg.com/2019/02/22/georgia-football-current-3-4-defense-better-todd-granthams/2/
  2. I was really hopeful it was going to be Symons, but like I said earlier, if this guy beat out Symons, he must be pretty impressive.
  3. The CFP really needs to be expanded. It is a joke right now. If you aren't one of about 5 teams, you have really low odds of ever making it. Of the 7 years of the CFP, 22 of the 28 spots have gone to Bama, OSU, Clemson, ND, or Oklahoma. That obviously makes sense because those are often the best teams, but there is a clear bias by the selection committee to try to get certain teams in. With only 4 teams, there are some really good teams that don't have the right name on their jersey that get left out. Also, at 8 teams, we could be getting real close to that in the next couple years.
  4. Our running game has barely existed the last 2 seasons, so not too worried about it. Not saying Hart shouldered all of that blame, but the combination of Hart, Hiller, and Sheridan was really bad this year. 111th out of 127 in yards per rush. I think with James and Baldwin, we'll be alright with talent. Just need to figure out how to coach/utilize it better.
  5. Charlton Warren's salary this year was $600,000, so I would think if we're willing to bring him in for an interview, we're willing to offer at least that much if necessary.
  6. I would guess if we do offer him we'd start around $450,000 based on Sheridan and Wommack's salaries. I can't imagine Liberty was paying him that much. I would think we could go much higher too if we really wanted him.
  7. As I'm looking more into Symons, I see that the Liberty safeties coach is going to be the defensive coordinator for Wommack at South Alabama. Not that it really means anything, just kind of an interesting note. The more I look into Symons, the more I think he'd be a grand slam hire. I can't find anything about his salary at Liberty, but you'd think IU would be able to offer a decent raise. Also, if he was in to interview, and he doesn't get it, that must mean whoever we get is extremely qualified.
  8. And for the first time, we don't have any defensive position coaches that I would want replaced. All of them are really strong right now. Moving Teagardin to special teams was a big move last offseason. It upgraded our safeties and our special teams.
  9. Allen isn't going to bend from the 4-2-5. He said in an interview he isn't changing from it, and is going to hire a DC who is familiar with it.
  10. Symons would be a homerun hire. His defense at Liberty this year was terrific, he's only in his mid 30s, and he reminds me a lot of DeBoer on the other side of the ball. He had really good success at a small school and has worked his way up the ladder quickly by having success at each stop. If we can hire him, I would bet good money he'd eventually be added to Allen's list of coordinators who leave for a head coaching job. He also has experience coaching linebackers at Memphis, so we could probably bring him in without moving the rest of the coaches around.
  11. Curious where this was at 1 week later. We're now at roughly 12.3 million shots and 31.2 vaccines distributed. In the last week there's been 6.4 million shots and 9.8 million doses distributed. I am kind of curious how those numbers are counted. It didn't when I checked last week, but it now says the 12.3 million only counts the first dose. So I'm assuming that means there have been more than 12.3 of the 31.2 million doses distributed? Not sure how the 2nd dose factors into all of that.
  12. I didn't expect any different from the Bears. They were a perfect example of a team that has enough individual talent to beat crappy teams, but the lack of coaching is clear against good teams. Ready to tank next year and start the rebuild.
  13. I'm sure I'll do it again before next season starts!

  15. I feel like some guys are declaring for the draft because they're leaving anyways. Might as well say you are going to try to get drafted instead of saying you don't want to use the extra year of eligibility. I totally understand them not wanting to, but I don't think Crider, Jerome Johnson, or Swann would have left if they had a year left under normal circumstances.
  16. Anybody here planning on starting things from seed this year? I've gotten a couple catalogs in the mail the last week. I usually start seeds mid to late March, so might want to start thinking about ordering things. I like ordering online (or from catalogs for you old folks!) because the selection is a million times better than what most stores carry.
  17. Good. I'm glad we didn't bring him in as DC.
  18. On offense, I was hoping at least 1 of Fryfogle or Whop would stay, and on defense I'm hoping at least 1 of Johnson or McFadden stay. I feel better about McFadden staying than I did about Johnson, but I wouldn't be shocked if he leaves too.
  19. I kind of figured he would. That's a tough loss. He was unbelievable this year. Just like Allen losing coordinators to other schools, the more guys we put in the draft the better. Really hopeful a few guys start catching on in the NFL. Outside of offensive linemen, our guys have struggled at the next level lately.
  20. Cleveland up 21-0 in just over 10 minutes. Being Cleveland, no lead is safe.
  21. I remember seeing an article a couple weeks ago that made it sound like he was planning on moving on.
  22. Terrible pass by Jackson. Against the Titans, you can't afford to get behind big. If they can get ahead and get Henry 25 or 30 carries, you're going to have a real hard time of things.
