  1. I bet Vontaze Burfict is watching from his jail cell with a smile on his face from some of these big hits.
  2. Juju is the one who's been dancing on the logo before games.
  3. You have to wonder if someone dancing on your logo before the game fires a team up. The Bengals are hitting really hard so far. I did enjoy the hit on Smith-Schuster.
  4. I agree that masks aren't 100% effective, but I highly question anything that involves people saying whether or not they are wearing a mask. Anything that relies on someone being honest about wearing a mask brings in a lot of doubt for me. Some people are afraid to admit they don't wear them all the time, and others will blatantly lie one way or another to try to skew numbers. No way to know for sure on any mask data.
  5. That's such flawed "research." States would usually have mask mandates when cases were at their highest points, so of course the number positive per 100k is going to be high during those times. That would be like saying sunscreen doesn't work because there are more cases of sunburn during the summer.
  6. I have mine through HSA Bank because it connects to TD Ameritrade where I already had an account. I like that I can invest in pretty much whatever I want. I have it in stock right now which has me up about 40% this year. I'm pretty aggressive with mine since I have over the maximum out of pocket in it. Even if I go down 50%, I'll still be able to cover the deductible. I know I'm a lot more aggressive than most people like to be though.
  7. Another thing I use for investing is my HSA. As a 33 year old single guy who is usually in pretty good health, it made sense for me, but I know an HSA isn't great for everyone. You can invest the money in HSA accounts, so I have been doing that lately. I have about $5500 in it and get just over $80 a month added to it by my employer. At 65, you can withdraw from an HSA without penalty, but it is taxed at that point. I'm making a lot more than I would if I just let it sit in a bank account.
  8. The B1G coach of the year will be announced Thursday. If anyone not named Tom Allen wins it, the conference might as well just come right out and say they don't like us.
  9. I'm a big fan of JD.com which is somewhat similar to Alibaba. Got in this year at $50, and some more at $60. Got over $90, but it has gone down to the low $80s the last couple weeks with the Chinese audit push in Congress. They should have no issue making compliance since they're an actual good company, and I read somewhere that they said they're already compliant, they just have to do the paperwork. I expect to see it go up a lot in the next couple years, and I think it will eventually pass Alibaba.
  10. My WIU Leathernecks with 14-1 odds to win it all! I'm pretending it isn't a typo. Nobody tell me otherwise!
  11. I guess I don't get your point. Deaths are even with what they were at the peak this spring when we didn't know anything about the virus, and we're going to argue about a few extra people being admitted to hospitals as a safety precaution?
  12. I'm still not sure if I'll get the vaccine right away or not. I think there are still a ton of questions that need to be answered about it. It worries me that we're basically taking the companies word for things at this point without much knowledge and review of the trials. I also wonder what company policies will be on the vaccine. What is going to happen if/when companies start requiring the vaccine?
  13. Most of my retirement funds are pedal to the metal. I figure I have around 25 years until retirement, so for the next 10-15, I'm going to really try to push things. Late 40s I'll probably start looking at where the market is to try my best to somewhat time things for moving to more conservative.
  14. I have about 95% of my money in index funds. The other 5% is money that I had laying around that wasn't that big of a deal if I lost it. That money I use to mess around in stocks. It's nice with places offering free transactions. You can by a couple shares of different stocks just to see how you'd do. Then there isn't much risk.
  15. I think a lot of the assistants have similar bonuses too, but I do agree. Throw a little extra their way.
  16. I think it is more the week to week stuff. Going over the gameplan, what to do in practices, etc. I think those things Allen has a hand in and works with Wommack a little more on. I wonder if in the offseason Allen told Wommack to be more aggressive. In Allen's first couple years, that was a hallmark of his defense. Last year we didn't really have that. Not sure if it was because Wommack was still getting used to things, but it didn't really show up a lot until the bowl game.
  17. Allen also has these bonuses built into his contract. Decent chance he could get an extra $500,000 or more this year. $50,000 for being B1G coach of the year, and $100,000 for being national coach of the year. An extra $200,000 for reaching a NY6 bowl. $150,000 if we win the conference, and $50,000 if we win the B1G East. $100,000 for reaching a bowl, and $50,000 for winning a bowl.
  18. And Wommack is basically running Allen's system with some of his own personality put into it. They both learned it under Wommack's dad. I think if we do have to bring someone in, we would be able to keep the same system and Allen could help to keep it running well.
  19. He might have. I remember when Allen got his new contract that he had an extra $500,000 for assistants, but I can't remember if he gave some of his bowl bonus to them.
  20. It will be interesting if he is looking to get into head coaching right now, or if he's wanting to stay as a defensive coordinator. If he's wanting to stay as a DC, I think we might be able to keep him for another year or two while he waits for one of the top 10 or so big schools to open up. If he's wanting to be a head coach like DeBoer was, who knows. Tons of smaller schools look for head coaches every year, so those opportunities come up all the time.
  21. Also, I do like the evergreen clause (I think that's what it was called) in his contract that renews him for 1 more year every year we go to a bowl game. To know that you could coach here forever if you keep winning, and for recruits to always know that he'll be here for their 4 or 5 years will be huge. It gets really tough when coaches get down to 4 years left. Then 3, then 2. Sometimes they get stuck in that phase of not being good enough to get an extension, but not being bad enough to get fired. I think if we keep treating Allen well, he'll be more than happy to stay here. Also, he really loves the guys on his teams. I think it would be really hard for him to leave all of those guys to go somewhere else. Not saying he wouldn't ever do it, but I think that would weigh heavily on him.
  22. Allen seems like one of those guys who would turn down an extra million in order to give it to his assistants. I would guess we'll go to Allen and basically let him tell us what he wants. I think we have some decent incentives for different accomplishments, but I would like to see some of those upped. Those almost pay for themselves. More wins, more fans, more money coming in to pay for the money going out.
