  1. Getting close to my last haul of the year. Candied jalapeños (last weekend), made sauerkraut from a head of cabbage, and dried and ground my peppers for some cayenne pepper. I can't wait to try the jalapeños. Might have to crack into a jar next weekend even though it should probably go 3-4 weeks. My peppers were picked last weekend, so I can probably get another harvest next weekend. Have another cabbage and a couple red cabbage to pick too. That one will probably be my last harvest even if I have more come in after that. About gardened out for the year.
  2. I've been shaving my head for close to 10 years. One of the best decisions I ever made.
  3. Our boys team will probably finish 21-3 for the regular season. Won the county tournament tonight. Have to go on the radio tomorrow night to talk about the team. Already nervous about it!
  4. We have a couple that could probably play at a small JuCo, but I don't think any of them will end up doing it. Nobody great, but just solid all around. Our lowest 9 hole average is a 41.5, but we just have really good depth.
  5. In more local news (well, local for me), my boys team is 20-3 this year. We have some end of the year tournaments coming up, so it will be interesting to see how we do. Hoping to bring home some hardware this year. I get to go on our local radio station next week to talk about our team, so I'm pretty excited about that.
  6. I feel like Spieth was too mechanical and too in his own head. Even when he was playing well, he had different mannerisms and different things he'd do that would keep himself in check. Things like sometimes looking at the hole on putts. I always thought he seemed like a mental time bomb waiting to go off. I think hitting 2 in the drink at the Masters a couple years ago was the tipping point.
  7. How do you freeze your peppers? Do you just throw them in a bag, or do you do some kind of prep before freezing?
  8. Feel free! My jalapeños weren't that great this year. They got knocked over in a storm in July and broke a couple parts off. My cayenne, banana, and pepperoncini were out of control.
  9. Just went and picked peppers. I still have some peppers that are flowering. They are crazy this year. I put my hand in the photo so you can judge the size of the pile. I'm kind of at the point where I wish they'd stop!
  10. I have a lot more I need to go pick. My hot peppers are mostly turned red, so I need to pick them and dehydrated them to make some cayenne seasoning. I could make a few more jars of pepperoncini peppers too, but not sure if I'll get around to that. My tomatoes were kind of the same. They started off great, and the last month or so I haven't been getting very many.
  11. Most of them have 2 or 3 other teams. I think we've played 6 different days, but we get multiple wins.
  12. I'd be happy enough with any of them having 3 birdies in the same round.
  13. My high school team is 12-1. Not sure if that made it to SportsCenter or not.
  14. This could be a topic all on its own, but agreed. The amount of useless majors out there are crazy.
  15. Hopefully the restructuring of colleges will be a good thing that comes from this virus. College costs and return on investment have been out of control.
  16. Put up 3 more rows of siding today. Didn't get a chance to take a picture. Also got the white trim for the window made. Going to try to get to the top of the window next weekend. Then it should really be looking good...I hope!
  17. Got 6 quarts and 1 pint of peppers canned today. Now to wait a few weeks before I can eat them.
  18. Pepperoncini, banana, jalapeño, and chili peppers. Brandywine, Defiant (my early tomato), and san marzano tomatoes. Pound and a half brandywine.
  19. My garden was a little too muddy right after I watered this morning, but I'm about ready to go get a big haul of peppers and tomatoes. I made some pickled pepperoncinis a couple weeks ago, and they turned out amazing. Going to make a ton more today with the same recipe. Same with banana peppers.
  20. I didn’t have time to pick anything during the week, and I have a few pepperoncini peppers that turned red on me. I'm assuming thats still something I can use. Anybody ever had red pepperoncinis?
  21. LP Smartside with the Diamond Kote finish. It is nice doing it by myself because it has a little plastic piece on the back, so it sits right on the board before it. I checked for level after doing 5 rows, and it's perfect. My brother has installed it on quite a few houses he's done, and he told me it was idiot proof. He's clearly never seen me do it though! Rows 3-5 took about 45 minutes total to do. It was really nice after the first 2 rows took forever! The biggest problem is that we start school today, and I coach golf, so I'm only free on the weekends now. I should have ordered it earlier in the summer!
  22. Blowing my timeline out of the water! I'm glad I got good siding that should last for decades. I don’t enjoy this!
  23. Put up one and a quarter pieces of siding today. Moving my timeline up to December 2021.
  24. We got it here too. I posted a couple pictures in the weather thread. I was pretty devastated haha.
