Trey wouldn’t have been shooting FTs. You don’t shoot on offensive player control fouls, but we would have had the ball with a chance or at least gone to OT.

All these AP voters don’t watch the games. They just look at results. Still surprised though given we lost to what should be a ranked Nwestern team, who is 2nd in the Big10, on their court by two.

I’d say it’s likely we lose both but we’re absolutely good enough to win either or both. Winning at MSU would solidify my belief that we CAN win the whole damn thing with a healthy XJ because it will just speak to the mental toughness we’ve developed. Regardless, just compete. We shouldn’t be losing by 10+ to MSU. Purdue is a taller task for sure, but we’re talented enough. If we do lose both this week, it’s absolutely imperative we win the last two home games if we want to stay on the 4/5 line. And still gives us an outside shot to move up to a 3 with a Big10 tournament title. Don’t think we can fall further than a 6 at this point which wouldn’t bother me at all given the likely 3’s this year.

We’re the better team, but can we show up to play 40 on the road against a desperate team that is going to get the benefit of the home whistle?

But weren’t you criticizing @KoB2011 for saying they weren’t playing with effort? Exactly what Woody said. Woody or anybody else saying they aren’t playing with effort doesn’t mean they don’t care, it just means they can hit another level that we’ve seen but aren’t playing at. Or in other words not doing things we know they are capable of.

Nobody cares what you think Kyle. Would be highly surprised if you’ve seen one IU game or even understand we’re playing without our starting PG.

And NOBODY wants JHS to just stop shooting, but we do want him to stop forcing bad shots. Today he was 5-17 though (terrible), so he needs to positively affect the game in other ways…. like not turn it over 5 times, be more selective with his shots, and continue to play solid D (got beat quite a bit today). I’m sure we all understand late in the shot clock bad shots, but he took a lot of early in the shot clock long twos that weren’t good shots.

Kopp for me. Needed those threes big time. For me, TJD had an off day (a great off day with that said). Seemed a step slow, maybe tired?, and had 5 turnovers from being lazy with the ball. Plus, missed too many FTs.

Really bad today, but good teams find a way. Need to value the ball better and not sleepwalk through the first half if we want a chance on Tues.
