  1. Don’t you pretend you were paying attention to the score. 😏
  2. That sounds like a Purdue fan comment. 🤣🤣🤣 No offense.
  3. You named three players Crean recruited who we wouldn’t even touch with CMW recruiting. You wanted CAM to take chicken crap and make chicken salad? Rob has been hurt A LOT the last two years. Race definitely improved all around. Not sure you have an argument on that one. You wanted TJD to become an all-American, not all Big10? That’s nit picking. He’s never had a shot, and you wanted CAM to create one for him. We’ll see what CMW can do, but again, no coach is taking somebody with limited capabilities in a certain area and turning them into something completely different. Slightly improved? Maybe. Leal absolutely got better all-around. Galloway was hurt half the year. I’ll give you Lander I guess, but I’d argue the kid should have stayed in high school on regular schedule. Again, it’s easy to throw everything at CAM now that he’s gone, and I’ll concede CAM failed at bringing in shooters and keeping the team focused with the same goals, but your argument is completely void of any player accountability / responsibility. Race, TJD, Lander…. The entire team from a FT perspective should have been in the gym every free second they had shooting. That’s how they get better. Can’t expect a college coach to change a college kid’s shot. Minimal advice? Maybe, but completely changing a shot at that age could take years. CAM didn’t get the job done, bottom line, but I think it’s crazy to throw everything at him. Player accountability, lack of support from the beginning, COVID (in his first major gig), and a lot of injuries are just a few things he had to deal with … a lot of variables. I’m glad CMW is here, but I’m not going to keep throwing unwarranted shade at CAM. I could quite easily argue that TJD (while carrying us at times) cost us a couple games by missing bunnies. A few game swing and things may have been slightly different. Again, everything at the end of the day falls on CAM for not getting it done, but there’s plenty of responsibly to throw around if we want to be honest.
  4. I’m not judging her experiences and the toll it could take. I’m simply confused at all of the timing. IMO if she wasn’t 100% going into the olympics then she should have dropped out then. I don’t understand how her mental health could have changed within days. That’s all I’m getting at, and why I wondered if her “less than herself” performance in the preliminaries or whatever it was led to this decision more so than the issues surrounding her. I also have a hard time, like others have said, being more accepting of it (not that any of our feelings matter) when she’s calling herself the GOAT, then pulling out of the Olympics the day before the team event. Again, can understand dealing with life happenings, but it was the whole timing for me that didn’t make sense. A physical injury causing her to remove herself is different, and completely understandable in my book. Again, all JMO.
  5. In comparison no, but for her it was described as poor. I didn’t see it, and, to be quite honest, don’t really care either way, but there was a lot of talk about it being poor. Appears as if people were talking in comparison to her typical.
  6. So then was she using “mental health” as an excuse because of poor performance? No idea, but sounds like that is possible.
  7. I understand what you’re saying. Just was saying it was odd timing to, just the day before or whatever it was, to announce she wasn’t competing. That seems like she’s letting her “team” down, but as already established I don’t know enough about the situation or how mental trauma with something like that could work.
  8. I did not! I thought she competed the day before or a couple days before (no?) deciding she wasn’t going to compete anymore. Again, I was asking a question I knew nothing about. I wasn’t judging at all, just wondering.
  9. I’ll ask again. And not directed at just you, but why did she compete all the way up to the team finals, then decide she couldn’t do it? If she’s been carrying a heavy load on her shoulders, she couldn’t handle a few more days? Just confused at why it took so long. Timing certainly doesn’t add up or look good.
  10. You don’t think Franklin, Thompson, Leal, and Geronimo got better under Archie? I’m sure I’m missing some off the top of my head as well. It’s easy to pile on Archie now that he’s gone, but let’s call a spade a spade. We did not have a lethal shooter when he was here (and I’d argue that’s NOT something that can be developed). That was the one glaring hole and he was responsible for that. We can probably argue that he didn’t do a good job of motivating / instilling confidence, etc as well, but our struggles weren’t due to a lack of open shots or poor defense. Our best player missed more bunnies than anybody in college basketball. I could also argue on the opposite side that we were very unlucky with injuries and in-game luck. Not sure how Pomeroy calculates his statistics but if I’m remembering correctly we were towards the bottom in luck factor. CMW has done everything right so far, but until we see the product on the floor we’re sitting in a pretty similar boat personnel wise as we have in the past if we didn’t have a wide open transfer portal. Hopefully CMW’s style of play, coaching adjustments, reputation, access to the transfer portal, etc. are the difference moving forward. The players certainly seem more excited and confident about CMW, but these same players weren’t very accountable last year… which showed in the inability to hit open shots and make FTs. Hopefully CMW will demand accountability and won’t have to put up with guys that aren’t willing to put the work in.
  11. I didn’t see it and aren’t judging…. But didn’t she compete up until yesterday. Confused at how all of a sudden she’s having issues.
  12. Did you see the fluke DP they hit into in the 6th!? Agree with you as a whole, but that could have been two runs right there!
  13. I would hope we move to the point where we aren’t happy to compare kids to Jordan Geronimo, hoping he turns into something. Rather getting kids that, more times than not, can compete right away. We’ve seen flashes of positivity from JG, but I don’t have much confidence he’s absolutely going to be a big contributor this year. Believe it when I see it.
  14. Was it a women’s match? I’d rather watch women’s (under)water polo than Olympic basketball.
  15. Yeah, I already stated it was worse. But we can agree to disagree on the rest. MSU and PSU had individuals commit crimes that they are now paying for, and of which is not still going on at the schools. So punish the rest of the school forever for a few losers? Kansas has a historically dirty basketball program from all accounts, which has been going on for awhile … and still going on likely (never been punished or cleaned up). Again, we can agree to disagree on how we view each of those schools TODAY.
  16. My point was that it wasn’t about cheating to win. Sure, it involved the athletic department and those people involved are paying the price. But it wasn’t about recruiting violations, etc. I think it’s fair to say that MSU and PSU do not have systematic cheating issues. Can you say the same about Kansas? Regardless, I don’t care if they join or don’t join.
  17. I would argue (although much worse, not arguing that point) that MSU’s and PSU’s issues weren’t sport-related. People responsible are paying the price. Kansas’ issues are athletic driven, cheating athletically.
  18. Well, I doubt A LOT of vaccinated people are spreading the virus bc there’s only a 5-10% chance that a vaccinated person contracts the virus at all. I’m not advocating one way or the other, but I live with a physician, and she along with any other physicians I’ve ever heard talk about it suggest that if we can get to herd immunity (70%?) then we’d be in good shape. With that said, the new variant is throwing us a curve ball bc Pfizer has done studies that suggest the vaccinated are only 66% safe compared to 95% safe from the regular COVID.
  19. I don’t know that we were “just” a school on his list. He wouldn’t have used an official visit on us if that is the case. I’ll believe we’re out when he commits elsewhere or he’s quoted saying that.
  20. I grew up in KY so I don’t know the IN HS scene. Is Milan still as small as it was portrayed in Hoosiers? They typically have good basketball?
  21. Agree. We’re getting projected as a 10 based on previous seasons. Based on the talent, assuming they learn the system in a timely manner, we should be at worst a 6-7 (borderline ranked) in my book. No way Illiniois should be a 7 based on what they lost. Lunardi been paying attention? Or does the transfer portal have him all delusional?
  22. Competing for an NCAA tournament bid every year. Not a bad non-conference game.
