How does a college basketball official have a huge gut like the one that just called that foul on Kopp?

Seem to be more under control, more organized than the first half IMO.

Reading comprehension, nor respect seem to be your strong points clown. Nope, just expected us to be better prepared and ready to play against an inferior team. We’ll see how we respond in the second half. Maybe things will change.

49 points given up in the first half and lousy, disorganized offense. Man I was really hoping things had changed a little bit.

I don’t know man. It’s certainly no gimme but we SHOULD win this game. We’re the better team. Do I expect us to win with it being a first true road game and Syracuse desperate for a win? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Wondering if the staff knew anything about him or watched much film… just had another scholarship, needed a big man, and there was nothing else left. Figured he had to be decent if he was at S Fla and could development him a little more. And if not he was a one year promise. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Bc he’s BAD.

Lander may be getting better overall, but last night he goes into the not-very-good bucket (no pun intended) with Bates and JG. I know we really want to push him to be that 5 star kid we hope he lives up to, but against the two best teams we played so far in St John’s and Marshall he was not very good / productive. With that said, he’s in the right person’s hands under CMW. So far CMW seems to be putting KL into the right situations to succeed. If he struggles to find his footing CMW is pretty good about seeing that pretty quickly.

Yeah, good thing CAM isn’t still coaching because the tone would be much different around here. Outside of TJD and Race to a degree, that half was despicable… especially on D. Marshall is the second best team they’ve played, so it’s not too surprising. But let’s see if we make the necessary adjustments and get it done like we should.

None of our PGs, up until last night against a really bad team, have been what they need to be for us to be the best we can be. We need all three to play solid D and especially XJ and KL to understand we need them getting to the rim, taking care of the ball, and distributing. Their strength is not shooting the ball.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. They have to go to BYU (who stomped Oregon on a neutral floor) and St Mary’s. I think they’ll go down at least once.

I’ve been on KL’s case lately, but I thought he did a nice job tonight in the areas I think we need him to be solid (taking care of the ball, playing D, getting to the rim, and distributing). Only saw him get beat once on D and he missed a couple bunnies, but he didn’t take any ill-advised shots. Seemed to play within himself. Wonder if CMW got into him a little after the last game. Hopefully the improvement translates to tougher competition.

I guess you see it as dragging him through the mud. Some of us see it as reality or a discussion topic. I don’t think anybody criticizing him dislikes KL. I think he has plenty of shortcomings, more than others, but I also want him to succeed bc I want IU to succeed. I’m rooting for the kid.

Wiscy’s win makes me wonder if we’ll have a legit shot to win up there. Was previously thinking we SHOULD win.

Good point in the first paragraph. There is room and time for all three. And I don’t mean to make it sound like I dislike KL. That’s not accurate at all. I hope the kid ends up the next IT and helps us win another Banner. I just feel like he’s too loose and careless with the ball, needs to drastically work on his shot (and in the meantime understand he’s a get-to-the-rim and dish / distribute guy), and against the only quality comp we’ve played he got beat over and over. I think CMW will bring him along in the right manner and the kid will improve, hopefully to the potential we think he will.

Kind of proves my point in a few other threads IF indeed it was KL.

XJ or KL?

Out of control AND poor handles from what I’ve seen. And I watch every game, so I don’t need to re-watch. He’s averaging 3 TO per 20 min so far, so wonder what that number would be with more consistent run against better teams? Tamar having extra weight may help him from getting pushed around as much, but Lander typically has issues keeping guys in front of him which has nothing to do with his lack of weight. Everybody needs to work on their 3 pt shooting, but I’ll take TB taking a big shot every day of the week over Lander right now. But I hope they do turn into a great backcourt. However, I think people want Lander to live up to his 5 star rating so badly that we’re a little blinded by reality so far. I think there’s potential there but with the game on the line and needing a stop I’m going with RP right now. KL’s time is coming, no need to rush him into situations he’s not ready for.
