  1. There is a lot of powerful stuff in this peer reviewed paper which is brutally critical of how the CDC changed all sorts of policies and broke all sorts of laws. Why? The last paragraph I quote below sums it up nicely and explains why the "this time is different" excuse doesn't hold water. https://cf5e727d-d02d-4d71-89ff-9fe2d3ad957f.filesusr.com/ugd/adf864_c39029cd980642e48797cdb2ef965972.pdf As a result, people hospitalized with a positive PCR test could be tested every 24 hours and each time counted as new COVID-19 to the complete absence of basic rules to ensure that this could not happen. The CDC published guidelines on March 24, 2020 that substantially altered how cause of death is recorded exclusively for COVID-19. This change was enacted apparently without public opportunity for comment or peer-review. As a result, a capricious alteration to data collection has compromised the accuracy, quality, objectivity, utility, and integrity of their published data, leading to a significant increase in COVID-19 fatalities. ...the reality is that COVID-19 became emphasized as a cause of death as frequently as possible, while comorbidity was simultaneously deemphasized as causes of death. We believe this deliberate decision by the CDC and NVSS to deemphasize pre-existing comorbidities, in favor of emphasizing COVID-19 as a cause of death, is in violation of 44 U.S. Code 3504 (e)(1)(b), which states the activities of the Federal statistical system shall ensure “the integrity, objectivity, impartiality, utility, and confidentiality of information collected for statistical purposes.” This violation has inevitably resulted in COVID-19 data for cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities being artificially elevated, and definitively compromises prudent decision making at federal and state executive levels. This includes policy enforcement for a public health crisis that may not have existed had the CDC abided by the laws that ensure the accuracy of data collection Public health policies that create more collateral damage while attempting to avoid an infection with a 99.05% rate of recovery in the vast majority of citizens must be objectively investigated and critically questioned if the goal of living in a healthy society is to be realized. Federal agencies have a legal obligation to provide the most accurate data to the public, fellow agencies, and policy makers they are advising, and they have a responsibility to abide by every federal law. This responsibility to collect, analyze, and publish data accurately, transparently, and with unquestionable integrity increases exponentially during a national crisis. It is concerning that the CDC may have willfully failed to collect, analyze, and publish accurate data used by elected officials to develop public health policy for a nation in crisis
  2. I think I linked something about that earlier. Traditional flu is down something like 99.9%.

  5. It's halftime. Let's get going with this announcement
  6. The cold is here to stay- Over the next week we expect temperatures vs normal to average 15 to 20 degrees below normal on a widespread scale from Montana to Kansas City, Chicago, near Indianapolis, and all areas in between. The cold vs normal is also expected to drop all the way down to near Dallas and Houston, and extend as far east as New York City. With the Polar Vortex looking to remain in a very favorable position for arctic blasts of air, expect additional notable cold behind storm systems into the week 2 period. We think that this continues throughout week 2, especially as the colder air sinks further south
  7. You got 40 degree temps and rain coming. You'll be fine. We have 1 day with high above 32 in the next 2 weeks. 35 this Thursday with a few more inches of snow expected.
  8. SW suburbs of Chicago. We had no snow up to a week ago. Next weekend it might feel like the Arctic circle if the forecast hold, lol
  9. I wonder how many have already had the virus and therefore might have antibodies? The couple of people that I know that have had it are not getting vaccines right away.
  10. I did break my shovel in last weeks wet snow. Really liked that one and now I need to find a new handle. We got around a foot over the weekend and forecast for next weekend is showing a low of minus 10. Looks like this snow will be around for awhile. Went from the winter with no snow to one with largest sustained snowpack in years. Great for the snowmobiles!
  11. If you are elderly, at risk or have relatives that are, this seems to be common sense advice- Most pertinently, when viral antigens are present in the vascular endothelium, and especially in elderly and frail with cardiovascular disease, the antigen specific immune response incited by the vaccine is almost certain to do damage to the vascular endothelium. Therefore, it is my respectful request that FDA, in collaboration with Pfizer and Moderna, immediately and at the very minimum, institute clear recommendations to clinicians that they delay immunization in any recently convalescent patients, as well as, any known symptomatic or asymptomatic carriers — and to actively screen as many patients with high cardiovascular risk as is reasonably possible, in order to detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2, prior to vaccinating them. https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/cardiothoracic-surgeon-warns-fda-pfizer-on-immunological-danger-of-covid-vaccines-in-recently-convalescent-and-asymptomatic-carriers
  12. Agreed. Public backlash has apparently beat some sense into those decision makers and their vaccines have been postponed
  13. Oregon changing how much data they give out. https://www.oregonlive.com/coronavirus/2021/01/governors-office-defends-decision-to-end-detailed-covid-19-death-reports.html I would think more transparency is better but what do I know.
  14. I know. They are hoping their treatments work. Looks like they are on the short end of the pharma Covid winners list
  15. Same here. Was supposed to get the same last week and only got 3. I don't get excited anymore about forecasts
  16. There is a war brewing. Class action lawsuit against GME. Google removed 150,000 negative reviews on Robin hood. They are being looked at by the SEC. We'll see what happens today

  19. It looks like the American Journal of Medicine is recommending treatment with HCQ. https://www.amjmed.com/article/S0002-9343(20)30673-2/fulltext "when started earlier in the hospital course, for progressively longer durations and in outpatients, antimalarials may reduce the progression of disease, prevent hospitalization, and are associated with reduced mortality" Why is this not standard treatment given what we now know?
  20. It's been an interesting story to follow. By shorting a stock, any individual or entity can profit if a stock goes down in value. If a stock is going to decline anyways, you can make money at the expense of those who own the stock. Really no different than buying a stock hoping it goes up. It is often used to hedge other positions, minimize risk, and many other reasons.
  21. Hang in there. Hopefully it won't be long until you are feeling better and then you will have all day hang out on HSN!
  22. Nothing wrong with setting a target date past your retirement date to be more aggressive- if you will not need that $ for income at retirement. Going more conservative when the market is rallying can be a drawback and why I prefer the traditional asset allocation models (growth, moderate, etc) where you can decide when to adjust the levels. An asset allocation model should be the core of your strategy but then can be supplemented by targeted strategies.
  23. Gibsons restaurant has a house beer - Gibsons Gold that is a Helles brewed by Haymarket Brewery. I've had that one a few times. I've just started sampling NEIPAs. The Hazy IPA and crispy bois haven't made it in to my rotations as of yet.
  24. I don't think I ever drank any Olympia. https://www.q13fox.com/news/iconic-olympia-beer-stops-production-after-more-than-120-years
  25. From the article- "The SaNOtize treatment is based on nitric oxide, a natural nanomolecule produced by the human body with proven anti-microbial properties shown to have a direct effect on SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19. The treatment can be delivered by nasal spray, throat gargle or nasal lavage." I hope nobody is thinking of putting sanitizer up their nose.
