Literally free agency every year. Was watching Oklahoma yesterday against Arizona and remembered Dillon Gabriel transferred to Oregon. Transfer portal/NIL has quite literally ruined the non-CFP bowl games. They’re practically glorified exhibition games now with 1/2 the team gone.

Current Player ratings below. X will clearly provide a major boost when he comes back... and at this time is quite frankly a substantial upgrade over Cupps.

Glad to see us hit some threes…was it an outlier? To be determined. I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong about Walker. He’s really proving himself and seems to be the one guy off the bench we can actually rely on. When X comes back, I would love to see 95% of the minutes be distributed to 7 guys with Cupps and Walker off the bench. If we need to have a quick spell for someone, depending on their position, either Sparks/Gunn/Banks can split the remaining 5%.

For the first time in a long time I turned off the game at halftime. I actually followed this thread to see what was happening in the game. Seems like we need X back in a hurry…and I’m going to say this, I think our team is soft both mentally and physically. With our mental fit, yesterday’s game was rather predictable….we weren’t focused, lacked energy and didn’t seem to care. Not all the time, but part of missing free throws is a product of not focusing. This team is who they are. We are only fooling ourselves if we think someone like Banks or Gunn are going to all of a sudden flip a switch and become serviceable players. Only Indiana wins and still manages to drop in metric rankings. The only positive that comes out of a game like that is we didn’t lose. Onto the next game.

Announcer jinx. They mentioned how he was perfect from the line...next time MM was fouled he missed his first free throw. Nonetheless, super impressive and is definitely the guy we want at the line to close out games.

My favorite moment of the KU game was when MM stopped and popped from 3 point line in the first half. Also if I recall, in the 2nd half, he was set a pick at the top of the key and knocked down another 3...MM's got a height advantage more often than not. He's capable of shooting over just about anyone.

Agreed. I think Mack is only going to get better. Not sure where he is on our scoring option...maybe 3rd? I'd like to get him more looks and eventually be our 1st or 2nd scoring option. His defense continues to improve as well -- Woodson noted this in last nights radio show. MM is definitely becoming a very important player for us. If he continues to develop defensively and continues to gain confidence in his shot, he has the potential to have a special conference season. Picking up his 4th foul against Kansas turned out to be a pivotal moment in the game. It seemed like Kansas knew it too. In hindsight, I don't think we lose that game if he doesn't pick up that foul and or if he stays in the game.

If we could just somehow get consistency in a positive way from either Gunn or Banks that would help tremendously…however, I won’t be holding my breath. Frankly, the lack of development between these two will ultimately hinder this team from where we want it to be. I doubt Woody would do it, but when X comes back…considering a 7 man rotation may not be a bad thing.

It’s all about championships and being put into positions to win those titles. Woodson has made that clear. That’s the standard of IUBB under Woodson….we/Woodson want to field a team that’s capable of winning championships.
