  1. Anyone else not see the date on the initial post, then do a double take when they saw a post from milehiiu?
  2. Not looking like that will happen until early next week. Rain chances are spotty as well. I'm old enough to remember when a heatwave like this would almost always be broken by powerful thunderstorms. Doesn't seem to happen too often anymore.
  3. I have a hard time believing there are current pictures of Luck on the Internet. That guy has been invisible for the past 2 years.
  4. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, northern Illinois getting storms today. Nothing but dry, oppressive heat in Indiana. Good lord this storm season has been a complete snooze fest.
  5. I really think Woodson's NBA experience, along with actually having a personality, has made a huge difference. People want to play for this guy.
  6. Ordered a burger and ice cream at Dairy Queen tonight. Not only was everything correct, they gave me french fries I didn't even order. I considered this an atonement for the time they gave me my ice cream first and told me to pull into a parking space, on a hot day, to wait for the rest while my ice cream melted in my hand.
  7. 12-7. Apparently that was the closest game that team had all season.
  8. 10-1 in 1982...only winning season in a span of about 13 years. And that was way before my time, lol. Bluffton was averaging a new coach about every two seasons when I was growing up. The current coach is the first one since the early 80's to last more than four years. The program is worlds better now, but still trying to figure out how to not get embarrassed by traditionally strong teams.
  9. I always had people pressuring me to play football because I was "big" (not wide, just really tall for my age). I was a wimp and had no interest in tackling people or getting tackled. Plus, my high school's football program was a joke and I wanted no part of that mess.
  10. I call it the ESPN generation of athletes. Kids want to be on highlight reels, not play offensive line for a team that goes 3-7.
  11. It makes more sense to me now why the mods on that board are constantly asking for donations.
  12. A couple funny moments from a 1A game that wasn't close... Late in the game, the winning team put its reserves in (the few they had, anyway). Kid who's listed at 5'4", 115 makes an open-field, solo tackle and the crowd goes nuts. Winning team is kicking off after scoring to go up by like 50, they only have 10 players on the field, a kid on the far side of the field is shouting "Coach, we need one more! We need one more!" An official waves him off and yells "No you don't, no you don't" then motions for the play clock to start.
  13. 2A Bishop Luers beats 6A Carroll 38-31. Cancel the 2A tournament and just give Luers the trophy now.
  14. Fun fact: whatever the number is, Michigan can actually claim a higher one. Man, even when they have an historically long winning streak against the team they hate most, someone else is still better.
  15. Ohio State fans can tell you how many days it's been since Michigan beat them in any sport and go out of their way to omit the letter M from any conversation, but yeah, this is pretty bad. I think a lot of Purdue fans are insecure and need the schadenfreude of clowning on IU to rally around.
  16. When I saw this list, I thought only an OSU fan could rank Day ahead of Dabo Swinney...and I was right.
  17. All the schools in my county closed today because of fog. LOL
  18. It's been a weak year for storms around here, maybe one of the weakest I can remember. But yesterday, there was only a 20% chance of rain, and I had 3 storms roll through in succession. When the last one ended, it was near sunset, and I stood out on the patio listening to the water drip from everywhere while seeing an awesome sunset. Sometimes it's not always the big storms that give you the best moments.
  19. I can't believe shaming mask-less people on social media is still a thing.
  20. I don't know what goes into a weather forecast, but wouldn't you think if a severe thunderstorm watch was issued where you live, the local forecast would have a storm chance a bit higher than 30%? Had 3 different storms pass a few miles north of me this morning. Three hours of thunder while the sun was out. Weird stuff.
  21. Not sure what has to happen for my area to actually get a thunderstorm. 90 degrees today with dew points in the 70's. Unstable airmass, but only a 30% chance of rain. The Iowa derecho was a year ago today. I remember hearing about it all day and preparing for the storm of the century. I was treated to a downpour and 40 mph winds.
  22. Really good stuff. The people who chose not to watch these games really missed out.
