  1. As usual, no shortage of excuses when Purdue is losing, regardless of sport.
  2. It's funny how they all seem to gain an inch after joining Purdue's roster.
  3. Honestly it's not looking good for my grandma, but she's in her late 90's and her quality of life has been suboptimal for the last few years, so when her time comes, it may be a blessing. I'm more concerned about my aunt, who has otherwise been in good health, but spent the last two days visiting my grandma in the hospital, feeding her, handling her dentures, and f*cking singing songs with her, basically everything you would NOT want to do around someone who has Covid, she did. In my lifetime, I've lost four relatives/family members in the last week of December. I have a feeling my grandma will be #5. This is why I don't look forward to the holidays anymore.
  4. My grandma is in the hospital and just tested positive for Covid. My aunt has been in close contact with her for the last several days and can't come for Thanksgiving now. F*ck Covid.
  5. Just realized the playoff format changed. I'm really tuned out anymore when it comes to the NFL.
  6. We could potentially be discussing the possibility of a first round bye right now if the Colts hadn't lost to the Jags in week one. (the Jags haven't won a game since)
  7. Those refs all need to be fined. No way all of those holding penalties on the Colts were legit. The Colts always seem to get trash officials when they play the Packers. During the Manning years, I remember a game in Green Bay where the Packers tried a surprise onside kick, it went out of bounds after 8 yards, and after a lengthy discussion, the refs inexplicably let them re-kick. The Colts were also flagged at least 15 times in that game, then didn't get flagged at all the following week. Anyway, that five penalties in five plays sequence was a reminder of why I don't watch a lot of NFL games anymore.
  8. It's too bad the Mayans were wrong about Covid ending on November 3rd.
  9. Love big special teams plays. For so many years, the Colts were dreadful on special teams and never got big plays anywhere.
  10. I go to both Walmart and Kroger depending on what I need. I usually see 1 or 2 un-masked people at Kroger, if that. At Walmart it's more like 50-50. I wish more people at Walmart wore masks, if for no other reason than I don't need to see how many teeth they're missing.
  11. Indiana set a single-day high in new cases for the third straight day. My community is spiking after a few hundred mask-less people gathered a couple weeks ago for a Donald Rainwater rally.
  12. Patriots have now lost 4 in a row and have only scored 3 touchdowns in that span. They picked up a first down in the red zone with less than a minute to go today against the Bills, trailing by 3, and Newton fumbled. Wondering if that experiment lasts beyond this year. The Bills might be one of the weakest 6-2 teams I've seen. They've given up more points than they've scored, and last week they failed to score a touchdown against the winless Jets.
  13. I went earlier this year after not going for 8 years. I had 7 cavities that were all between teeth. I never flossed between my molars because it was too hard to reach. My dentist recommended these: The upside was that my other teeth were clean enough, they felt I could get away with coming in once a year as long as I floss often.
  14. There have been doctored graphs/photoshopped images circulating social media sites for months. It's hard to know what's real anymore.
  15. Some good-a$$ thunderstorms here last night. We got more rain than we have in the last 2 months.

  17. Small towns, like the one I live in, are full of religious radicals who think wearing a mask violates the Ninth Commandment. They also feel it's the government's way of trying to control them.
  18. A man who writes for the newspaper in my hometown did a series of stories recently about his experience with Covid. He had it back in June and still doesn't feel like he's fully recovered. He was hospitalized and seriously thought he might not go home. Some of the aftereffects he described were pretty scary. When he returned to work, he had forgotten the names of his co-workers. My biggest fear with all of this is that too many people are making it a black and white issue. For many that I've listened to, there are only two outcomes: you either live or you die, and such and such studies show there's a 99.99% chance you'll live if you meet such and such criteria, etc. Maybe I get Covid and don't die, but I sure as sh*t don't want to spend a week in the hospital wondering what songs should be played at my funeral.
  19. Given the rarity of thunderstorms in Indiana anymore, it's not too surprising. It's gotten so dry here, that we have a Fire Weather Watch tomorrow. I had never heard of that until now.
  20. It forgot to include "Show your work."
  21. Seriously, who forgets Tuesday Night Football?
  22. I heard thunder for the first time in over a month and for a split second, didn't know what it was.
  23. Crowder putting on an Oscar-worthy performance of flops tonight.
  24. Half the team would probably wear their underwear on their heads in a game if Jimmy Butler told them to do it. I wish the Pacers had an ounce of that guy's toughness.
