  1. This is what irritates me so much. Using case numbers as the metric for policy decisions. What age group do most of these cases fall in is what I want to know. The median age went from 54 in Feb-April to 39 June - Aug according to a CDC report. Cases really dont tell us anything. Heck a case could be 2-3 months old and no longer at risk of spreading. Where did all the talk about hospitalizations and deaths go? I guess those numbers aren't high enough now. Luckily for me I'm a cold weather guy so in winters I'm outside. And yes, we need some games to talk about.
  2. I guess it depends on where you are. Its over where I live but it never began. China virus shut my wife's business for 3 months but we did ok. Dont know anyone that has been sick. People should live life like normal and go on. Quit being scared. What are people afraid of, getting sick? Whatever.
  3. If you read the 2 links in the last paragraph, the first gives some detail on how the Chinese feel about their position in the global order. The second gives GDP projections into 2021. Find it interesting that they are projected for 8% growth in 2021 and the European and African nations they are invested in look good but the rest lagging behind. I am well read in communist ideology and tactics(know your enemies right?) and have read Sun Tzu's Art of War. Have read alot on SE Asia and the far east. The US is in various degrees of lockdown, but China is business as usual. Makes you wonder. One of Indiana's candidates is proposing stricter lockdowns as part of his campaign. UMM...NO.
  4. Sometimes you find a gem on YouTube. @Lostin76 you may like this
  5. I'll never hate another job again after seeing that.
  6. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/fauci-the-vaccine-will-not-be-enough-to-stop-coronavirus-2020-9%3famp I'm not one of these anti face covering people but after a vaccine and possibly until the end of next year? Seems ridiculous to project that far out.
  7. I guess since the topic came up. Police raid in Vietnam finds more than 300,000 used condoms being packed for resale
  8. When Indiana made its mask mandate, my towns mayor came out immediately and said he would not enforce it and put officers and businesses in the position to enforce it. So no bs here. Ever since the mandate started it keeps getting extended, just 2 more weeks every couple weeks. Yet no noticable effect on numbers.
  9. Rent a cop broke physical distancing recommendations and his mouth and nose were uncovered while tasing someone for having their mouth and nose uncovered.
  10. Impact driver/drill changed my life. My house is old and has solid oak studs. Impact driver is the only thing that can drive a screw into them. And makes jobs go so much quicker. I dropped the coin for a Makita set and dont regret it.
  11. Dont hesitate to buy tools. In my experience you will use them more than you think and even for applications you wouldn't think of. Second the chop saw. Also doesnt have to be expensive. I paid $100 for a ryobi 10 years ago, have used the heck out of it and still going strong. One thing I wouldn't go cheap on though is cordless drills.
  12. Wife made chili yesterday for our lunches this week. She read this somewhere and decided to try it. Cut up and put portabello mushrooms in it. I was all WTH! but its actually pretty good.
  13. I tell my wife imperfection is what gives a project its character.
  14. Seems like the CDC is just throwing turds at the wall to see what sticks.
  15. Plan on doing garlic this year. Plant in October and harvest next year. Also cooler weather things like radishes and leafy greens. I would use the same soil but maybe mix in fresh topsoil or composted manure.
  16. If we are going to use them in cooking clean and cut them. If we will use them in a sauce lay them on a plate or sheet pan and freeze whole. Here is a good Link that goes into more detail.
  17. Seems late August through September is when I get my biggest harvest of peppers. Just froze a gallon of habanero peppers with more on the plants in addition to jalapenos, pablonos, and cajun belles. Been a good year for peppers here too.
  18. It's a quick and easy dinner on work nights. Dont have to plan or think much about it. Put them in the oven watch tv for awhile, make a salad and done.
  19. I have wings 1-2 times a week. Make them at home with the oven on convection. And make my own sauces and dry rubs. Made up a maple habanero sauce last week that will be in the rotation now. And bone in, always.
