I guess depends on how you define "have". Technically they could have hired anyone but I think they figured like we did, if we are going to do a crap shoot, might as well look at guys with ties to the program. Kentucky fans are under the impression they are going to go out and grab the next equivalent to Calipari 10 years ago. Musselman, Oats, etc. basically the run of hot names right now. I am not convinced those guys look at UK and think that is a great job. And while those guys might be good coaches, I don't think any coach is going to come in and be dominant like they expect which can impact the hiring process.

I think OSU and Michigan should both hold onto their coaches for a decade.

I am not rooting for him or Virginia at all.

They could have every questionable call go against them for the rest of my life and it wouldn't make up for the title Ted Valentine helped them steal from us in 1992.

I don't think there is any coach in America right now that really worries me. Duke, Indiana, and UNC all had to hire in house this last go around. I don't think that job is what they think it is anymore. I don't think any job is.

I get it, it was ugly, but the team did what we were calling for during that bad run that got us to 1-4 to start the season. They found a way to get it done. We have only lost 1 game since then. They haven't all been pretty but after the Archie years and dealing with some injuries, the team is doing exactly what we can ask of them, putting in max effort and because of that, making their own luck. I was hard on them after the Iowa, Northwestern, and Penn State losses because they looked to be dogging it a bit. They lost Race again. Geronimo was playing injured. TJD is having to be an iron man. Shots were not falling and they still got it done. We were on a dry spell for a long time. That may be a 3 out of 10 in a good year, but that was a post Archie Miller solid 6.

Yeah, someone made the comment that they were turning into Indiana and got the reply that we just beat two ranked teams in a row.... I think we should have done better over the past 20 years. I was extremely unhappy with our play for a run of 5 or 6 games this year. We seem to be turning the corner. I have never been that impressed with Calipari from an X and O standpoint, he always seemed kind of like a get all the Jimmy's and Joe's and roll the ball out there kind of guy. All that being said, we have a whole bunch of experience on the coaching carousel the past 2 decades and I don't believe there are really anymore "Sure things" on that front. I guess all that is to say that I think if those UK fans get what they want, they aren't going to be the dominant team they were used to in the past. The SEC is better than it was when it was them and a bunch of football schools. That makes it harder. Everyone can legally play the shoe game through NIL now. That makes it harder. I just don't see any dominant coaches that are just waiting to run to UK. They will have to do a crap shoot and the crap shoots usually lead to a bunch more 20-10 type of seasons than they do 25-5. Duke and UNC are finding that out right now....

I did not hear it, I don't think he did anything "boo" worthy last night, but he did have several plays that had me audibly asking my TV, "WTF are you doing Race?"
