  1. So the key B1G players still in limbo are... Liddell and Washington-Ohio State Ayala and Wiggins-Maryland Harper and Baker-Rutgers Dickinson-Michigan Wieskamp-Iowa In my opinion, in that order of importance...Anyone else?
  2. Hunter Dickinson entered the NBA draft but left the door open to return to UM...
  3. I don't know if this is shocking to this crowd or not, but federal workers, including contractors, are not required to get the vaccine... I can't even ask my employees if they've gotten it...Although the government gives them 4 hours of admin leave (doesn't come off of their annual leave or sick leave totals) to get the shot...But they don't have to provide me with proof that they did get it... You can thank public unions for all of this...
  4. With that hairdo, he always reminded me of one of Biff's (from "Back to the Future") wingmen... I think he's the one in the 3D glasses... Maybe he told the guy, "Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here!"
  5. SIAP, but Dakich working as a Door Dash driver for penance over gambling debts? "I'll have a Philly Cheesesteak, Dan!"
  6. White Sox girls won the fight over Cardinals guys and girls...
  7. The poster boy for an electronic strike zone...
  8. I feel ya...didn't have but 2 under 10 at any one time, but it's like Ray Barone says, "it's like living in a frat house - nobody sleeps, everything's broken, and there's a lot of throwing up."
  9. "It was a great conversation, he even knows about my son (Jeremiah) right after Jeremy,” Fears, Sr. said." Woody and staff are doing their homework...
  10. Don't confuse me with the facts...😁 I'm living in the past in this thread... Go Go Sox!
  11. Does anybody else remember that the number Ruth was credited with for years was 713? As Aaron approached that mark, they "found" another HR to give him credit for... Also, my druggie friends back in the 70s thought 714 was a cool number 😎 *edit: my bad...Ruth was given credit for 715 for about a week in 1969, but it was ultimately dismissed... Story here...
  12. 56 years ago today, Ali knocks out Sonny Liston in their rematch in Lewiston, Maine with the "Phantom Punch."
  13. The 1968 Sox? Walt "No Neck" Williams? Carlos May? Joel Horlen? Tommy John? That bunch? 😉
  14. I remember going to a museum in Gatlinburg in 1969, although I'm not sure it was that one...The only display I remember from it was about native Tennessean Sgt Alvin York...
  15. If you watch the video, it's not about AJ not having a "warm fuzzy" about Coach Knight...AJ explains a pretty complex relationship, and AJ's thoughts on why it's gone that way... He even says he gets ribbed about getting more hugs than anyone from RMK, and that he admires him, and is grateful for what RMK did for him as a basketball player... I'm not at all surprised RMK doesn't have a good relationship with every kid that played for him...I'm just surprised he doesn't have a better relationship with AJ Guyton...
  16. 1968 was the year of the pitcher...McLain won 31 games (the last 30 game winner in the major leagues...the NL hasn't had one since Dizzy Dean in 1934 for the Cardinals "Gashouse Gang") and Gibson had a 1.12 ERA. That was supposed to be the marquee matchup in the World Series... But Micky Lolich stole the show winning 3 games, including game 7 when the Cards Gold Glove center fielder, Curt Flood, played a Mickey Stanley fly ball into a triple... Remember it like it was yesterday...
  17. A couple of other things about the interview... AJ told Miller to stay off of social media during the season...also told him if there wasn't a "family" atmosphere the team wouldn't succeed. Said don't just go out with 2 or 3 of the same guys all the time...include everybody...also talked about the struggles of the IU teams he was a part of and their failures to contend for championships because of transfers and not all having the same goals. Also, in this interview with Luke Jiminez, AJ reveals he doesn't have much of a relationship with Coach Knight and he almost skipped Coach's return to Assembly Hall...that really surprised me...
  18. Looked it up...they appeared only days after game 7 of the 1968 World Series... I wonder if Micky Lolich felt like he got gypped...
  19. Early Sunday...around the time DC's (Iowa City bar) closed... He wasn't going to mass...😁
  20. Yeah, that was very impressive...He said he loved playing at IU on the opposite side...Said Romeo stole the ball from him his freshman year and took it down for a dunk and he'd never heard an arena so loud...And that was one of the things that helped make his decision...He said he really hadn't planned on staying in the B1G...Woody must be very persuasive I don't remember him saying one way or the other...Just that he was finishing classes there...
  21. Yeah, He said he was currently in Houston, and would be at IU sometime in June...He said he's finishing classes at Northwestern so I would assume Zoom ...
  22. This kid is sinking down the board, here, and I think he's probably the most important 2022 kid we're after... In @The Daily Hoosier's latest roundup, this was the take... “Washington said that he will visit North Carolina officially on the second of June and Stanford is set for the 12th,” Bossi wrote. “The Indiana native also mentioned that he’s looking at which local schools he can see and when.” On that latter point, a source tells The Daily Hoosier that an IU visit by Washington is in the works, but nothing has been set up to this point." That doesn't sound real promising to me...
  23. Loved the interview...Really like the fact that AJ takes the time to fill kids in, especially the out of state kids, on what it's really like to play for IU... As far as AJ's suggestion for Miller to bone up on IU's storied basketball history, since he's down here in Houston, I'm sure @Hoosierhoopster or I could provide lessons
