Super slimy lol.
Bag men like him are going to go the way of the dodo. Who needs a guy with under the table connections when you can pay guys above board?

Didn’t say next season. Also, not a fan of limiting a search to an alum. But we’re seeing that coaches don’t want to leave a good job to go to so-called blue bloods. Roy Williams wouldn’t have left Kansas for anywhere but NC.
I think the splash we’re making in the portal this offseason isn’t just one for next season, it’s about the state of the program. People have always been willing to ante up for IU basketball. Now that there’s a legal path to do so, you’re seeing the impact.

The 20 game winner is going the way of the Dodo bird. The top of the rotation guys start 32-33 games and pitch 6-7 innings per game. Just not the opportunities there for them as it used to be. A starter trailing 3-2 after 6 is no longer in the game long enough to get the W for that late rally to win 4-3,
Oh yeah, I get that, I’m just surprised someone like Denny Neagle or Jason Schmidt didn’t squeeze one in after 1991.

I actually hope he does well other than against IU. I think he still has something to prove, but the potential is certainly there. May is only 47. The former IU coaching tree doesn't have many branches. If he's successful at MI, I'd hope at the right time, the IU donors would pony up for his buyout. It's always easier to get someone to leave a job to go to their alma mater.
If Woodson isn’t coaching for whatever reason next season, Why limit ourselves to an alum?
I think too much emphasis gets put on “the former IU coaching tree”. Bob Knight didn’t coach under Branch McCracken. Danny Hurley has no connection to Calhoun. K didn’t go to Duke. Self didn’t go to Kansas. Dean Smith didn’t go to UNC. Wooden didn’t go to UCLA.
Go shake some trees and see who is willing to listen. Get the best available coach out there.
The reason I always hear is “oh, they’ll understand the traditions better”.
How about upholding this tradition: win.

In the last 3 years there have been 9 five star players enter the Big Ten…..IU has 5 of them
Hell I didn’t even know that. 😂
JHS, Ware, Reneau, MM and Tucker, right?

2 players staying 4-5 years will be incredibly rare unless the rules change
Exactly. Meaning that even if there isn’t an Indiana kid on the market now, there might be in a few weeks let alone next offseason.

What the hell is with Bally Sports Indiana. They aren't showing the Reds game this afternoon because the Pacers play tonight at 7
Because Bally is one of the most inept organizations to ever exist. They make Enron look competent.

LOL. Should have saved this one for High Score Friday,
- I likely wasn't going to get anyone other than Arrieta on Cubs no-no but was expecting it to be around 20%. It was the second square I completed, and it was a sign of things to come.
- For the 3rd square I did, I figured Jenkins would be about 10% on Cubs 2K. Miscalculation again.
- The Drabek square takes the cake. WTH?
- McCutcheon was my last square, and I was in a 'Who gives a flying f@*# at that point
Has Pittsburgh had a 20 game winner since Drabek?
-
I’ll say it again, at this point, it’s easier to list who didn’t enter the portal.

So can a player who is not in the portal have communication with the coach of another school? I am sure it happens all the time, but what are the actual tampering rules?
Probably about as vague as the “name, image, likeness” payment rules.

Having “Beauty School Dropout” playing if we’re entertaining a former UK player would be appropriate.

To be fair, same thing can be said about Woodson. If he didn't play at IU and so forth. He was on zero coaching search list this off season and has yet to win a game with his portal all star team.
Im curious to see if Dusty can lift that program and how quickly. He put FAU on the map for a brief moment but the B1G wont be so nice to him as he is likely aware.
I hope he is largely successful and that he only “crashes and burns” when playing IU.
Dusty had one out of the blue run to a FF. Great, so did Mike Davis and Tom Crean.
Woodson at least had a track record of getting multiple NBA franchises to the playoffs, and given that those franchises were the Hawks and Knicks…getting to the playoffs was a decent accomplishment.

Where I've seen them and where I would want them is under the eve - protected from rain and sun. Most of the time would leave them white but would use the colors for a week around Valentines, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas, etc. Maybe go crimosonon IU game days? There are other manufacturers. I like the concept of a permanent color changing accent light.

If they’re out of the elements, yeah, probably worth a shot.
