  1. Not making the comparison yet, but there was one kid that came in with that attitude that now plays his home games about an hour north of B-town.
  2. Because that would mean Dakich would have actually planned to say something objectively positive about IU. And that's either the 4th or 5th sign of the apocalypse....right before the locusts, I think.
  3. If you like actual US history and military fiction, read the Southern Victory series by Harry Turtledove. It's an alternate history series that goes from the end of the Civil War to the end of WW2, if the Confederates had won the Civil War. He puts a ton of detail into both the geopolitical and military environments, and shows the projected impact on actual historic figures. Example from the series: Custer becomes a featured character in more than one book, since westward expansion is de-prioritized and he never goes to Little Big Horn.
  4. God forbid we add Kaufman, Patterson and Coleman and have them all on the floor with Galloway. "Tre brings the ball up, off to Trey, gets it inside to Trey, kicks it back out to Trey...."
  5. This article is factually incorrect. They didn't list Graeter's for Ohio. Quite possibly the best ice cream in the country. A quart of Graeter's black raspberry chip will be one of the last foods I consume while on this planet if I have a say.
  6. Has there ever been confirmation whether Vijay is getting a scholarship for his final season?
  7. Former NBA player Reggie Harding (who stood 7 feet tall), turned to crime after his pro career didn't pan out. Wearing a ski mask, he attempted to rob a gas station (have also heard liquor store, not sure which) that he lived nearby. Upon seeing a 7 foot tall man in a ski mask, brandishing a gun, the clerk said "I know it's you Reggie". Harding's response.... "It ain't me, man! Now shut up and give me the money."
  8. Or, wear an old, stained, ripped "Elect David Duke in 1988" t-shirt.
  9. Me, but I need a laptop to update it, and I'm out camping this weekend. Get it next week.
  10. Makes Spaceman Lee and Turk Wendell seem normal by comparison.
  11. My dad just got into reloading. Has a basic single stage press. Saves a little bit of coin, and (mostly) since he recently retired, gives him something both stimulating and productive to do.
  12. I live in a partially completed subdivision. Theres a totally empty field that backs to a 25 foot earthen embankment that I and a few others have designated as the neighborhood's unofficial shooting range. We're all self regulating about picking up spent casings and making sure it's not being used at inappropriate times. Oh, and two of the others are local police, which helps....lol
  13. Handguns have an advantage in portability, ability to be concealed and in close quarters combat, if being able to bring it to a ready position quickly is a factor. If those aren't factors, I'll take the rifle any day. I'd own a compact rifle vs a handgun if I could find a way to conceal it in my home.
  14. And you have more than earned the right to make that choice and have no questions asked. 🇺🇸 My dad (also a Vietnam vet) is an avid deer hunter and has a very extensive collection of hunting rifles and various handguns. A very outspoken 2nd Amendment advocate and a lifetime NRA member. Personally, I'm not a collector or a hunter, but I do own one firearm. It's a pearl handled short barrel .38, stored in a very well concealed hidden compartment (of my own design) of my bedroom nightstand. I take it out every 3 months, test fire 6 rounds, clean, oil and reload it. When each of my sons turn 15, they will receive instruction in performing each of the above steps, along with the lesson that a firearm is a tool that requires the utmost respect. They are not to be treated lightly, and they don't require excessive fear. And, much in line with Ken's post, it's a tool that I have never and hope to never need to put to use. But, threaten the safety of my family or enter my home with bad intentions, and find out how fast that will go out the window.
  15. RIP Parker. As with all of your brethren, your time with us was too short.
  16. Those that don't study history are doomed to repeat it. Napoleon and Hitler vs Russia, as an example.
  17. I can also validate two things about the Pepper Pod diner in Newport, KY. 1. Kick-ass biscuits and gravy. Both legitimately 100% homemade. 2. Get it to go. The cigarette smoke in there would put a smoke grenade to shame.
