Well, that should guarantee us a NIT bid, but let’s keep winning, and maybe just maybe, we slip into the NCAAs.

Yeah I think the main NIT Bracketology guy said 1 win gets us for sure in the NIT. If we can get past Nebraska we match up well with Illinois but that was with Galloway not sure as much without him. If Purdue somehow gets upset we could win this thing. Nebraska is the one we somehow just don’t matchup well against.

I wish there was a what if scenario with rankings based up others winning or losing that we could see. Long way to go but I have to believe if we can go on a run....besides Penn St, beating Nebraska and Illinois would give us 2 more Quad 1 wins I think. We would have 5 along with Illinois but my biggest complaint would be Sparty has only 3.

I just can't believe if we had 5 to their 3 and were on a 7 game winning streak that doesn't get us in the final 4 in conversation.

AND we have the head to head over Sparty

It doesn't matter. This staff is on borrowed time.

I sure wish that was the case but I don’t trust our administration. All it takes is a good year in the portal and making the tourney and then Buckner gets his way. If we sick we waited a year for no reason and will lose out on the 2025 guys

TJD is getting his confedence up more and more and that is going to lead to great things

So for the longest time I was a bulls fan. I got tired of ownership doing absolutely nothing and I already deal with crappy owners in baseball and football. I decided to switch to the warriors as the team I follow because I feel like TJD will be there a long time.

That's cool.  The stats say the same as your guy.  He definitely put up some stinkers in there.   Wonder if he wants to be the guy?  Likely.

Which depending on who leaves here he may have to be the guy. If certain people stay he probably wouldn’t work out here. He also may be intimidated by Woodson discussing defense. Woodson may also not be interested because he doesn’t play/can’t play defense. I mean he is a Blackmon and not one of them was even close to good at defense

Have McNeely or his family commented publicly on his decommit yet?

I haven't seen anything... Not saying it's not true, because I know numerous outlets reported it, it's just that usually the recruit puts something out himself...

    I haven’t seen anything

Disagree with this on multiple levels.  The decommit says something and everyone should be listening.  It was also our only recruit for '24 and looked to be a proven player.  And lastly, while there is a possibility that there might be a 3 year older version of him in the portal, much like last year, none of them chose IU last year.  Its on the more unlikely side that those same level of players choose IU this year.

I mean it could happen, but i am not putting all my chickens in the portal basket.

    But we can hope.

I completely agree. Also losing out on Liam it kinda screws up our pipeline to Montverde.

This is way the portal and NIL have changed the game. Easy to fill holes in your roster. Taking experience players over one and done freshman really not a big deal. Meshing portal guys with 3 and 4 year players that you can develop is key. Would have like to had McNeely but certainly not  the killer to the season

I agree but my issue is we could’ve had love and knecht and instead ended up with Walker and sparks. Woodson botched that though so my concern isn’t the players being there it’s Woodson’s ability to close on guards.

One thing about the portal is that there will be about 1000 entrants so buckle up for the long haul. One that has me more intrigued is the kid from UT Martin. Jacob Crews. 6'8 guard. 42% from 3. Looks like a Liam clone.

Anthony Wright on Twitter said people shouldn’t freak out about losing Liam because there will be lots of him that are the exact same as him but 3 years older. Already true.

  10. Update from my mentor: He is very streaky…hot and cold. I think he is most successful as a volume guy. Not sure he can be very impactful if he is a 3rd option shooting 8 shots a game. He has as many 3-15 shooting game as he does 10-15 games. If you can live with the streaky results at the 8pt game to get the occasional 30pt game then it’s fine. He does a good job of creating shots and getting to the FT line most games. Also can’t guard his shadow.

He had 43 today in the ASUN championship game…5-9 from three.

He should be a no brainer, if he hits the portal.

Asking my mentor about him now. He coached against him twice each year for last 3 years. Will provide feedback if I hear back.

But we weren't blowing those teams out with our starters in. It doesn't make any sense.

We HAD to keep our starters in just to win those games. It wasn't like Woodson kept those game close on purpose and we easily could have blow Army out.

We just weren't good. The metrics don't like IU because IU wasn't good.

But we weren’t good because Woodson wasn’t willing to adjust his defense early on when they were still learning it. He should’ve abandoned it until they had a better grasp on it. That’s something else he doesn’t understand is every point matters in getting in the Tournament. The problem is he just assumed they’d win every home game, steal a couple road games, and be comfortably In.

  13. Wow Woodson saying he’s done his job is absolutely insane to me. Zero recruits in ‘24. Not keeping a top 15 player because you stopped recruiting him. Not adjusting to zone because your personel couldn’t figure out your crappy defense. Not answering questions from the media when it’s in your contract that requires you to speak with the media. Being lazy and skipping events and recruiting you shouldn’t be doing. Gosh I wish someone in media would call him out on that. The problem is he would be an egotistical jerk in his response if someone did call him out because he’s so self centered and will never admit he’s wrong or he has screwed the future of our program not helped it.
