As far as Perkins goes, take the ball out of his hands, and he's a better 3 point shooter (33% in his first three years as opposed to 30% this year)...He's much better driving the ball...

But with his experience, toughness, leadership, and defense and I'd take him without blinking an eye...

But don’t we already have that with Galloway and Leal?

Watched Perkins play a lot over the years, and he's more of a 2 than a 1...He was kinda forced to play PG when Ulis left, and freshman Brock Harding was the only true point guard on the roster...

I haven't seen anything on Thornton leaving OSU, and if people are gauging that on Meechie Johnson going to the Buckeyes, I think those 2 could co-exist, but it'd be hard...

Thornton is a natural 1 but can be very ball dominant...He and Perkins would be a pretty good tandem in the backcourt...

To me I don’t want to bring in players that don’t make us better. We need shooters. Let’s say Perkins, Gallo, and Newton take up all 40 minutes at the 2 spot. Yes you’ll get intensity and good at driving the ball but you’re only gonna get 30% from 3 plus add in Tucker whose known weakness is shooting the 3 plus Mgbako being a streaky shooter it just all of a sudden feels no different than last year and I don’t want us to have another last year.

Well shoot.  I was making a list of similar nicknames for you.  Thought it would be fun.

I guess if you're not a fan of MgBako getting called Taco, then you probably wouldn't like it if I referred to you as Burrito, Enchilada, or Taquito.

    Maybe Sauerkraut?

To me you get free rein to call people whatever you want because we tease you wayyyy too much about your ex wives and you totally roll with it. In fact I originally thought your 5 fouls was how many fouls (mistakes you made by getting married) you had lol.

seems like a conundrum.  i mean we definitely want Taco back, but it will kind of put us right back where we were, but with possibly less talent.  first it's hard to see Woodson putting him at the 4.  if he does though, then Reneau starts at the 5, and like you said, defense is rough.  i like it offensively though!  more likely Taco is back at the 3 and Reneau at the 4, and a transfer at the 5.  we all know how that worked out this season and that was with a very talented Ware.

I really liked what I saw from Mgbacko at the 4 last year offensively. Feel like he is a mismatch plus in Woodson’s offense he would have plenty of chances at open 3’s

Yes, we got him. Now six more to go.

Can you give me a breakdown of Perkins? I know you posted he was a winner and a bulldog but these stats just don’t excite me unless these last 11 games he was injured then that changes things a little. We need ALOT of shooters and adding him as someone who will need/want big time minutes just doesn’t excite me especially if we are adding Tucker who isn’t good at 3’s and not sure Mgbako is gonna be good at threes next year either.

He is by far their best player and my friends out here were talking about how coach needs to keep him.  Guess not.  Not sure if he knows how to play defense though

His stats just don’t match up to it. Wonder if he was injured the last 11 games???

I still don't understand. They're two different people, kids, and situations.

Example-- what if this kid isn't done growing? What if he's a punk? Lets get him on a visit and find some stuff out..

That's the vetting part. The part Archie sucked at, Crean tried too often, and Woodson hasn't been stellar at..

But ultimately we have 7 schollies..

I prefer scholly 12 or 13 to be used on a player like this.. kids "ceiling" looks like a walking mismatch at the modern 4.

I totally agree with what you’re saying. I’m not saying I don’t want him or to take a chance on him what I’m saying is that for people overly optimistic just to take a step back and pray he develops.

I guess Trilly put it in his discord that Hickman didn't like the offense and then something with the NIL. Idk

As mentioned, and another site mentioned, and everyone on twitter---Cinci is the team.

I wonder if there has been any back channel conversations with any guards still playing? I think they are going to throw the bag at this power forward visiting and I also think they need to throw the bag at Mack.

Calapari is the most over rated coach in college basketball. If he was so great why has he only won 1 tournament game in 4 years.

He’s terrible at X’s and O’s and game management and then always pulls the Woody comment of how young his team is. Plus remember he doesn’t want to coach at assembly Hall LOLOL

Ryan Conwell 6-6 from 3 against Minnesota right now.  Still lot of time left and he’s got 23 and 5 assists.

I was getting ready to come talk about him. The question is… he may be loyal to his coach and transfer to SLU with him. If he doesn’t I’d throw bags and bags and bags at him. Woodson needs to promise him a starting spot and he is from Indianapolis so hopefully he grew up an IU Fan. It’s crazy how much talent from Indiana we pass up on.

  11. As I sit here watching Marquette I’m surprised more people don’t want us to look at Shaka Smart. I don’t like how he “plays defense” on the sideline but what he’s done with three different teams, two of which don’t have the resources we have, and the third being a football school is pretty impressive. He should be right behind Pearl if not equal to Pearl.

I’d break it down even further to which two guards do we take?  What traits do they posses that we need?  Which two wings do we take?  Which two bigs?  I’m more interested in each one’s specific skills and traits than rankings.

I think we take three bigs. One to replace Ware, one to replace Sparks, one to replace Walker. With that being said if there is a dude who can backup the 3 and the 4 I’m totally fine with it but we need someone who can score because Reneau hasn’t proven he can stay on the court and while Walker was serviceable we struggled scoring when him and Sparks were in together. Also, his position in Woody’s offense had lots of 3 point chances so we need to be selective and get someone who could should the 3 pointer well enough.
