More like 9-0, win BTT, win the NCAA
34-5, and Woody finally gets his hand on a National Championship, since he missed 76 and 81
During the awards ceremony, a moving bump appears in Coach Woody's stomach... out rips Dakich a-la-aliens.
He claims credit for the undefeated stretch at the end of the season.
IU turns themselves in for having had too many coaches on the sideline (even if they were unaware of Dakich spawning himself in Coach Woodson)
The title is stripped and Coach Crean is rehired after being fired by UGA to clean up the mess. We win 8 games next year.
(Dakich added, as is proper)

Your scenario does not address what happens to Dakich.
Valid point, the only important part of a scenario is what happens to Dakich.

go 41-0 next season and become the first team since 76 to have an undefeated championship season.

0-9, we miss the tourney, all the players transfer, Woody gets fired, we hire Dakich, glory days return next season.
Now I am freaking out a little bit...

Fixed it for you... not sure why I said commitment before.

4-5 or 3-6 is also very possible unfortunately. Shouldn’t be worse than 3-6 to jeopardize our tourney chances though.
I think 3-6 with a loss in the first game of the BTT would even jeopardize our tourney chances. Maybe still get in, but I would be nervous on selection sunday.
Our non-conference was weak, so our entire dossier is our big ten performance. 10-10 should be good enough to get it done, but 10-10 with mediocre performance down the stretch and ND being our "hang our hat" non-conference win sounds pretty bubbly (or is that Bublé?) to me.
EDIT: If ND can continue their ascendancy and finish second in the ACC, that will help our cause some.

I know this is probably bad to say, but I hope we return to "Hall of Calls" Saturday. I want to see Kofi being in foul trouble early. I want to be able to talk to some Illini fans and hear them complain about the home cooking the Hoosiers got, because I will tell them I don't give a crap, IU has been on the short end of that stick at times also. 😁
UI had the halls of calls last night. Kofi was getting away with a lot. I am more than ok with it; it is our turn 😃

Either way, it's beneficial for us...We have the Badgers at home too later on...but Illinois losing another home game might be a little better...
Now, I'd really like to see Minnesota deal Purdue a blow tonight...
PLEASE!

I'm not sure when we began a narrative (don't mean you guys specifically) that players didn't develop under Crean, but player development wasn't Creans issue at IU.
That was one thing Crean has to get significant credit for. He brought in some pretty raw players and churned out several NBA players. If it was only Wade and Oladipo, that would be one thing.
Things that Crean did less well:
- randomness of some of the scholarship offers and the subsequent Creaning (which was probably overstated)
- X and O coaching & in game adjustments - he did not know how to break a zone
Honestly, I think there were things other than on-court performance that brought down Crean. We did make 3 sweet 16's in his final 6 seasons.

Since we are clearly wasting time until the game, here are some inter-related polls about the rest of the season.

We're gonna need a lot of Durr. But have a feeling Trayce will be on the bench 5 minutes in and that will be the game.
I think we will be throwing defenders at kofi: RT, JG, Durr, ... after watching the game last night, I would not put TJD on kofi.
Whoever is on Kofi will need rests.

I just hope that kofi does not get away with non-stop fouling on saturday

After watching the development of players this year (e.g., XJ, RT), which former players would you have loved to seen developed by Coach Woodson and his staff?
The two that really come to mind for me are:
- Devonte Greene
- Justin Smith
Imagine what Coach would have done with Greene...

Would love to see Illinois beat Wisconsin tonight and then we beat Illinois on Saturday. They would both have 3 losses and we would be in great shape in the standings heading into the home stretch.
Ideally in about 6 OTs...

Just look at 3pt
11-17 IU
2-15 Nebraska
I did not watch most of the Nebraska game, but some may have been our 3 point defense at the start of the game.
Our 3 point service was particularly kind to their shooters:
"Welcome 3-point shooter. You are valued here at Assembly Hall. As requested, we found a wide open shooting location where you should not have disturbances during your shot. Let us know when you have finished so that we can pick up the ball to inbound it..."

There is an article on indystar.com (behind a paywall).
Anyone in the know on this prospect?

Obviously HSN does not function well with this much time between games. 😁
Come on gang.
I knew a week was too long for us... we are all suffering withdraw symptoms by now.
I think it is worse because we are bouncing between unmitigated hope and tempering due to so many years of disappointment. We just want the next piece of evidence.

Did anyone else catch phantom foul call on the the three by Mulcahy? I am not sure I have ever seen a worse foul call

I forgot to mention that Dakich reminds everyone he shut down MJ in tournament.
As the reader, you should insert it in between all the other lines.
To be fair, if I had defended MJ reasonably well, I would let everyone know as well.
