I would venture to say Woodson just lost a huge part of the fan base. We shall see.
I stick with a simple formula:
- If CMW does not win much in the next year or two, then this will be "the start of the end" for people that wish to think that way.
- If CMW does win over the next year or two, then no one will care.

Context is important, but this puts me even more solidly in the Fife camp. I bet the St Peters players that beat KY have thought very little about the NIL this season.
I am a company guy for IU. But if Dane really did make an offer to a player that he was explicitly told not to, that is not good.

Absolutely. Debate is healthy. Show me a guy who surrounds himself with "yes men" and I will show you a bad leader.
There is a difference between not being a "yes men" and not obeying decided policy.

I'm concerned but feel it is way too early to freak out about it at this point. Too many unknowns.
This is obviously the moment to freak out. Once we know things, there won't be anything to freak out about.

You said good coaches don't do it. In 20 plus years of coaching I have encountered lots of good to great coaches with enormous egos that cloud their judgement from time to time. Knight is probably an above average coach with a giant EGO so I threw him in
What? Knight had an ego? I never noticed 🤣.

Prediction: If this off season goes south with more transfers than expected and the coaching staff appears fractured, CMW will not last too long.
In my opinion, only if this impacts play next year. If we win some tournament games next year (sweet 16 or better) and EVERYONE will forget this.

Hard to believe but Seton Hall has only made the NCAAT 14 times. 5 of those were on Willard's watch.
Yeah - they seem like a school that should have many NCAA appearances; I guess just because they have been part of the Big East forever.

Never said he didn't love IU or was a great team mate. He was not good on defense. And had a chance to showcase how he is the best shooter on the team and didn't. Plus if he was such a sniper, he would have found the floor. He loves IU. So have so many others. Doesn't mean he has the skillset to take a scholarship. Regardless if we play 12 or 13, you use your scholarships on the best 12-13 players you can put on your bench because you don't know which of them might move from 12 to 7 in the rotation. And since IU will always honor his scholarship for scholastics he will have his school payed for and still remain on the team. Just my thoughts. But this team needs players who might make it on the floor next year, and i just don't see him doing it, unless he makes a huge jump in skillset
I think this is jumping the gun. When Leal committed, he was always picked as someone more likely to contribute as a junior/senior. I do not remember anyone saying he would have an immediate impact. So to date, he has done exactly what we hoped - improved from year to year. A similar improvement this offseason - especially on defense - and he will see the floor
I have not seen anything that makes me think this won't be the case. I do not doubt that he will be a solid contributor on the team the next couple - even to three - years.

I have a goal that the St. Mary's post game thread is not the one we see at the top of the Game Day page all summer. It's always better to end the season with a win.
Out of sight, out of mind.

If Iowa had shot like this, we would have destroyed them

Really want to see JG improve his handle. Don't want him stuck in the interior.
If JG gets a good handle look out. He would be driving and, with some momentum, dunking over 7 footers... in fact I found some video of JG in two years:

Rutgers seems to stink unless they are playing big ten teams.

Only for the second half.
Obviously go to nerf for overtime.

I give the edge to Geronimo
+1 His athleticism is so off the charts, he could do a VO type jump from sophomore to junior year. Needs to work on handle and continue the improvement he made in shooting, defensive positioning... basically all the important details. But some of the stuff he does, you cannot teach. It will really depend on his offseason dedication.
Maybe VO will work out with him...
To be honest, I still think TJD has an extremely high ceiling as well. Continue to work on the right hand so he is harder to defend and become comfortable with the 10 - 15 footer during the game. He looked good shooting in the practice I saw on Monday.

Dont be surprised to see Chris Mack return.
Reasons it could be done: Mack is from Cincinnati
Reason against: Steele was Mack's assistant

We should have saved some money form CAM's new hiring, maybe we can boost a couple of assistants' salaries
