Looks like blossom end rot which means the plants arent getting enough water.  Been a very dry July.

That also means it needs calcium. Work in a little lime and water. Amazing how fast they can turn around.

** oops late to the party.

That said, images like this one of Dr. Fauci do not help in the effort to get everyone on board.

I was thinking about this the other day. Someone was being personally blamed for others not wearing masks, because that person hadn't had a lot of pictures published while wearing a mask, you know setting an example kind of thing. With all of the world wide discussion, education, conversation and shaming going on, do adults actually need a picture to make a decision? Or do we just hold adult citizens total sheep that need to see pictures? Anyway, I want to give them a little more credit, or maybe it should be, responsibility than that.

  3. I was speaking to a team at one of my customers yesterday who is in Connecticut. They said that the home inventory for sale is way down and a huge amount of people (their words) are leaving NYC and buying every house they can find in Conn. The Customers wasn't happy about it at all.

Even police cars, fire trucks and ambulances need gas. Not aware of that many electric ones.

Even the Electric ones would be dead since there is no one keeping the grid up to charge them. Then everyone's fridge dies, food good for 36 hours... I'm not sure ppl thought that option through very well.

Woukd it be.ok to eat your porage, try your out your favorite chair and maybe take a nap in your bed?

Obviously you are talking about the one's that picked out of my other "Gensing" patch. I'd let them nap quietly while I rummaged through their VW Micro bus.

What has been underreported is if this event took place on private property.  I have rather strong feelings about trespassers as one burned down the house (unoccupied at the time) on our family farm.   I'm curious as to how some of you feel about trespassing, or whether it even matters in this incident.

Trespass in general, I don't get my hackles up. It's all about intent to me. Someone wanting to take a nice little stroll in the woods, enjoying nature, no problem. Burn a house, steal deer stands, hunt Genzing... Nope. They need to come ask if they can burn my house, steal my stand or pick my zing first.

*** As to this incident... I think I'd like to wait from more evidence.

I don't think that would be a good idea because no one likes to where them and a lot of people would vote no.  People will.make bad decisions when it comes to the well being if the masses.

We’ll dadgum, and I though Marx was dead. I stand corrected.

  8. Well I found 5 - 4”x6”’s and enough other pieces to at least get a corner started.

Per my usual method I started digging the holes by hand. Since I’m totally NOT “Bought into” this project I quickly became bored and day dreamed of happily going to the liquor store.
Just then it hit me. A neighbor told me some months ago, he’s got a one man powered auger. In the UTV I lept and off I went. 43 cc’s of redneck amazement soon began and what would have been 2 hours, was complete in 7 minutes.
Why am I the last to learn these new tricks? I’ve since ordered one, 110cc’s!!! ( I may find oil) and turned on 4 new projects that I wanted, but didn’t want to dig the holes for.

Now kill this plague and sell me some freakin lumber already!

My boss wasn't too thrilled. There was supposed to grey grout between the accent tiles and white grout for the white tiles. Somehow I ended up with all grey grout. My first tiling project. I did have the help of my brother in law. I'm not sure if I would have tackled solo. All materials from Menards. Didn't see @Joe_Hoopsier there.

False positive? One of those asymptomatic people who don't transmit? Or as @5fouls said, natural immunity? Or maybe just stronger immune systems?

I hadn't thought of a false positive but I would assume, her being actively working with 100+ cases a day that she would be in a high risk group.

The other thing, both I and the daughter smoke and drink, the wife lives healthy.. hmmmm Get busy livin, or get busy diein.. 😁

Yeah, if you have a good performer save those seeds. No reason to pay someone else when you have the right there.

I've seen people save seeds from a grocery store tomato to plant and I'm like "Why would you want to recreate such a sad experience?"

Honestly, I used saved seeds from a grocery store tomato in my hydroponic system and it was phenomenal.
all the defects were breed out of it, just as a skilled farmer from 100 yrs ago would do.

  12. The wife tested positive 2 weeks ago after an ever increasing number of positives in the nursing home she works at. We’ve kissed, hugged, swam, Co-mingled the entire time, as well as our daughter and grand son who live with us.
Myself, daughter and grandson tests all came back negative today. How is that possible?
Oh, the wife had a headache fir two days, about a week and a half ago. But she does seem to be her normal level of irritable about everything I say, so there’s that I guess.

This is the national graph. The virus is clearly still potent and dangerous.

But the graph has stayed steady or decreased even with increased testing.

Is it not fair to say there is no national spike, while also recognizing it is still a serious threat?

Starting form about 19APR, why is there a reoccurring trend of a spikes, 4-5 days after a dip? That's a non-normal distribution. Not that I would ever question data gathering/ reporting

    reliability.

I've learned the hard way to always have the right tools. I finally made the decision if I need a tool just go by it when replacing heating elements on my water heater. The cheapo element wrench wouldn't get the bottom element out. Worked on it for 2 nights after work.  Bought an impact gun and 1 1/2 in socket. Took 5 minutes.

Cold showers is quite a motivator.

The timing on this is hilarious. My SIL just went through this last week. He called, having trouble getting  the bottom element out and he had bought the cheapo socket like you say. I told him to throw that in the trash and I’d be right over with the proper tools.
He wanted to know how I knew this so quickly, so I showed him my scars! Lol

That's why I've always said it's easier to build from scratch than to "redo" everything. I've built every house we've ever lived in. (I think we're up to 6 now). While I am the general contractor, I'm also about 14 subs...foundation, plumbing, electrical, flooring, windows, tile, cabinet install, deck, paint, architect, irrigation, light excavation, and "Jose".

That means you had only one other Sub, the real Estate agent. Dude, you do know they work 30 minutes and make 7%, right? :)

BTW I really appreciate your sub skills! Not a dieing breed, dead.

Anybody have any good tips to get the voles/moles tunneling through my flower bed?

Also, what's the difference between these a-holes? Do you get rid on them the same way?

Have 76 come over with those 2 Dachshunds. THose are great mole'rs! I've got awesome holes all over the yard from mine! lol

Ha, am the same way. I do the every time I walk by run my hands along the top of them to get them used to wind. I'm sure they are like, "Dude, here he comes again touching our heads..."

I feel bad, I've treated mine like red headed step Cabbage's. My greens Leek on themselves when I walk by, but my Peas all stick together super well.
