*This is an old remodel from our last house about 4.5 years ago*

We redid the fireplace with the stone using adhesive and the shiplap was a similar 3/8 inch thick using the 18 gauge nails 1.25 inch. This one held up great...and it was the "interlocking style" shiplap.

Please tell me your last name is Kennedy, Kirkpatrick, Klaus or your wife is Karen. Please?

I think it remains to be seen how well he can recruit, his energy level for recruiting, and his energy for motivating college players

If you need, lets say 3 players. You have a team of Wood, Larry Brown and Thad Mata. It's only 3 short trips and he is done recruiting for the year. How much energy could it take? 😉

Did you build it yourself?  My grandpa on my mom's side built his own house and body shop and ran a successful business his whole life as a high school dropout.

I'm about to overhaul my house now that I will have the time and money. If I could I would build my own one day. Only thing I would contract out would be plumbing and electrical.  Run the pipes and wires and I will install the fixtures.

This weekend replacing a ceiling fan, overhead light fixture and thinking about installing a GFCI receptacle with built in USB port by the kitchen sink.

I remodeled a room when I first moved in.  Put in a closet to make it technically a bedroom.

Still pissed they screwed up the drywall.  Pro tip when doing drywall, ceiling is first then walls. That way the ceiling will rest on the wall at the joint.

My shop teacher in high school taught me alot. Also, my uncle David worked as an independent contractor installing drywall.

    Woof that got windy.😁

Yes sir, everything from Blueprints to spilling the first cup of coffee in the kitchen, except finishing the concrete.

With your new schedule you can get yourself into all kinds of messes! That should be fun. What amazes me is with things like You Tube, information on how to do damn near anything is so readily available, the sky is the limit. I think the ease of being able to share real time direction has got a lot of people doing more of their own projects.

And yes, always hang the lid first, or else! lol

  4. I built my house and moved in in May of 15'. Upon move in I wanted to take a little break.... I wonder when break is over?

Windows not trimmed, Rooms not trimmed, about 15' of soffet not put up and about a million other little things. Since then I've started 5 other projects that are "just short" of being finished... Yep, all because I needed a little break upon 95% completion of anything. And before you ask, yes the wife agrees with this.... EVERYTHING... :)

This is why I stay out of these threads. Good luck to you on paying off the debit as you said.

As I said. Depends on age. You said he's young....how in the world would we know that?

Sorry, I did pay off all debit and this is one of the things I did. I wasn't arguing with you, I even asked "doesn't make sense". ... And I thought he said up above he was 35.

I guess I have until 4/15 to start one

You have until 4/15 to start and totally fund LAST years max contributions. Then you have the rest of the year to fully fill this years. $6500 if you are < 50 I think, $7500 if over.

Save big money now, so you can be an old fat man, on the beach, in a speedo, making it rain up in there.. :)

All depends on age. Just like we preach to diversify large, mid, small cap value, growth, international...you should also diversify your tax positions. Short term I'd say Roth. Longer than 8 years it's a coin toss.

I am NO investor, and am just dumb enough to accident into what I have. Having said that, I think the absolute opposite of what you said. He's young (35 right? ), go 99% standard, use the (today) tax advantages to pay OFF ALL DEBIT including mortgage, then when he has extremely more $$, then go ROTH and pay the tax today, so he won't have to with his forever money. Doesn't that make sense?

So signing up for benefits today I have an option for high deductible hsa health plan. I have no experience with it. The thing is the deductible is the same as my old plan.

I never really use my insurance and am 35. My thinking is go with the hsa plan and take the $200 a month that I would be saving on premiums and put in an the hsa account.

    Thoughts?

Your 35, Don't use much nore need much as it sounds. High deductable with an HSA is what I do. MAX MAX MAX out your HSA as well as MAX out an individual IRA roth or 401k roth. Set back and plan for your 2 mill$$ when you're ~65ish.

Start listening to Dave Ramsey, follow his principles. Cash is king!

Well, I bought some Solanpas, and will try it.

Guy at Home Depot told me not to use heat tape on PVC. Said it'd cause more issues than it solved...

I think the Home Depot guy is full of sleet. Back in my Mobil home mansion days, that is all we used.

One quote I saw- "Texas electricity customers are about to get "lubelessly pounded" as prices explode:"

My buddy in Southeast Texas said the windmill farms are frozen.....    wow just wow.

Just got back in from the barn, and had no water. Went to work with a little Kenwood heater I have and my wife's hair dryer, and got it thawed in about 30 minutes. No visible damage to the pipes.

Gonna go rewrap a few pipes here directly...

I was reading a Homesteading Page on Gab last week. One guy periodically uses Solanpas heat pads on his pipes. I thought that was a unique use. Cheap, disposable...

Yep, we were expecting/hoping this would be the case and it’s WAY down this year. Silver lining I guess.

What ever miracle our Doctors did to solve the Flu (seems cured with those numbers), maybe they can do that to Covid. A guy can hope, right?

No pictures or alcohol but we were building a new Church and it just so happened I was layed off at the time. So I was voulentarily going in each day to help the General Contractor put the finishing touches on. There was an electrical junction box at the highest peak that was just the galvanized metal and it stuck out like a sore thumb. It was probably higher than the picture HE posted. We built up the scaffolding as high as we could, put the plywood platform on top and then hauled an 8' step ladder up. I held the ladder while the GC went up to the top rung and spread some spackling on it!!

    GET   _   ER   _  DONE ! ! I love making an impact! :)

I wish I still had the picture of me, wearing 4' drywall stilts, standing on the top rung of a 16' step ladder. It was epic and the crown royal was flowing freely that night !

Yesterday Indiana reported 12 Covid related deaths.  Today they reported 80.

Yesterday Alabama reported 2 Covid related deaths.  Today they reported 234

I know you have to look at the averages to get a true sense of improvement, but how hard is it to send in your daily reports instead of hoarding them?  Unnecessary big numbers do nothing more than cause confusion about how much progress (or lack of progress) is being made..

How long would this level of ineffeiciency last, even in the smallest privatly owned buisnesses..    OMFG.
