  1. I think my taste buds have kind of been burned out by all of the hazy IPAs. It’s crazy b/c some of them are more like an orange juice more than a beer. The Gibson’s Gold Helles sounds incredible. Something so refreshing about a really well done lager.
  2. Apparently we have 12” to 16”of snow forecasted for tomorrow into Tuesday. They’ve already cancelled alternate side parking for the next few days (YAY!).
  3. Apple family here too and we follow the own stocks in what you know/love rule. I think right now, Apple is the only individual stock I own. My wife has even more Apple stock and some Peloton. Everything else is in target date mutual funds and index funds. If Apple dips again on Monday, I’m stocking up. Of course my wife will watch me do this and then hold out for a further drop and then buy and make me look like an amateur. I should just give her my money and let her do it...
  4. Yep, she’s faced a hellstorm of negative articles, tweets, etc here. The thing that’s so galling is she spent so much time trying to game the system. She literally took that vaccine from someone else, who needed it more than she did. She’s been in the news so many times locally for behavior like this. She’s very special.
  5. I almost purchased a couple hundred shares of Apple on Friday, but going to see if goes down any further on Monday. We kind of follow the same policy for individual stocks - shove that extra money on Apple.
  6. My mother-in-law had an appointment at a Florida Publix site today - my wife had snagged it for her online. They wouldn’t vaccinate her today, b/c they said the system showed her with a duplicate appointment tomorrow at another Publix site about an hour away. I’m not hopeful that tomorrow will be successful. But at least piece of trash celebrity spin instructors can get an appointment on Staten Island: https://www.thedailybeast.com/soul-cycle-influencer-stacey-griffith-posted-a-vaccine-ig-and-all-hell-broke-loose?ref=scroll
  7. Agree, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt early on, b/c let’s be honest we did not quite know what we were dealing with that early on. But, it’s incredibly disappointing to se all of this and if I had elderly relatives that were involved I would be beyond incensed.
  8. The more I read into it, the more I think there should be some criminal investigation. And I’ve always mostly agreed and supported Cuomo. Our AG is no joke and she is looking into it.
  9. Nice! Good to hear. In other depressing news, NYS just got a bunch of nursing home deaths added to their death total yesterday that Cuomo apparently tried to shove under the rug. Disgraceful.
  10. How did you fare last night? Among the people I’ve talked to, the chills and body ache seem to be the main issues.
  11. Another example of screw the little guy and take care of the hedge fund types. Practically cheering as I read these Reddit posts linked on Twitter:
  12. Dang, that’s rough. But glad you came thought it okay. If you ahven’t had anything bad yet, you’ll be fine. Ha, yes shoot away. I can handle it! It’s a pretty nice tool though.
  13. Impressive state by state data sets coming out now from the new COVID Taskforce: https://beta.healthdata.gov/browse?tags=covid-19-spr
  14. Am really enjoying watching all of the handwringing over this on Wall Street. Individual Reddit investors have teamed up to run up stock prices agains wealthy hedge funds who are betting against American companies and *checks notes* the individual investors are somehow the bad guys. HILARIOUS. Wall Street has got away with stuff like this for years and suddenly they are not too keen on market manipulation. Karma is a b*itch.
  15. I feel like there are just SO many of them. I’m about a 20 minute walk from Other Half and they have so many I’ve wanted recently, but it’s just getting to be so same-ish. And their most recent 7th Anniversary collaborations have all been meh. They smell and taste more like orange juice than beer. I think my palate is just burnt out with the hazies.
  16. Anyone find themselves getting sick of the hazy IPA phase and drinking more crispy bois? I’ve really cut down on the hazy IPAs and am drinking a lot more pilsners and I’ll try any Helles lager is see lately.
  17. Crazy few days for these stocks! I’m sitting it out and sticking with my boring strategy. Fun to watch from the sidelines though.
  18. It’s changed the way I get health care for sure. So easy to message your doc, the clinic nurse, etc. And love being able to see results so quickly. It’s required to have an account for all employees of our health system. I was skeptical at first, but yeah it just works. Definitely helped when it came time to vaccinate for COVID too.
  19. It’s maddening that they just don’t get this. Health departments are always struggling with not having enough funds.
  20. Yeah, it’s not like we didn’t know that the vaccines were coming. It’s a lot to ask of states and strapped health departments. No wonder Amazon has talked about taking over vaccinating all of their folks... Our health center has over 40K employees between the three sites. We got a MyChart notification to sign up and then signed up, no muss, no fuss. Could not have been easier or more seamless. The experience of four of us trying to get one senior citizen signed up today was bonkers. I saw posts on Twitter of people that said their new routine was waking up at 6am to stare at their screens for four hours trying to get an appointment.
  21. Great, good to hear! Long time out, but better than nothing.
  22. I would bet it’s the system. So she’s scheduled? The Florida system was for healthcare workers and 65 or older. Can’t imagine hat it’s going to be like when they open it up to everyone. This is definitely a huge undertaking for states and health systems and I know they are already strapped for cash. Although the one we signed my MIL up for was run by Publix.
  23. Four of us just spent 45 minutes on 10 different screens refreshing every 60 seconds to get my mother-in-law a vaccination appointment in FL. What a busted system. One of us got in and entered everything and then it kicked to an error screen. Thankfully, she’s scheduled for this Sat.
  24. Damn, man. That does really suck. Keep pounding fluids and take it easy!
