  1. Yeah, but you guys probably have the room for it! I’ve really come back around to cats during this fostering period. They are so quirky and funny. I love that tortie of yours. We had a great tortie that lived to be 17. She was a little scrapper. When we moved from Indy to NYC. I drove out in a huge UHaul and my wife followed in our Honda with the four cats and our dachshund (who is still with us)! We settled into a 400 sq ft. Wall Street apartment with FOUR cats and one dog. That’s cat crazy territory.
  2. We actually stopped a few weeks ago. We have two cats now - one foster fail who is AMAZING. She’s like the perfect, funny, adolescent cat. Our other cat is older and he was really kind of regressing when we were bringing in fosters so frequently. We stopped for a bit and he seemed to do better w/o the foster kittens around. He’s just kind of a dud cat, but the organization we adopted him from thinks he was really abused before he was surrendered. He’s been doing better, so we are keeping up the fostering moratorium for his sake. Plus, it was so hard to say goodbye to them! I don’t want to end up the crazy cat people with a bunch of cats in their tiny apartment. 😂
  3. Just got a big box of annuals and six tomato plants from White Flower Farm (local place in CT that has great flowers), but can’t really plant them b/c of the temps tonight. I would normally put them in the window sill while waiting to plant, but our adolescent cat Buffy would murder them while we slept. They are currently locked in the bathroom waiting for warmer temps. I can plant tomorrow most likely. Once those are in, I can rest and just enjoy. I think I need to get more pots first though. Good thing our terrace is supported underneath by the building and we aren’t just a balcony!
  4. My dad just texted me a pic from Southern Indiana with a covering of snow. Spring in Indiana holding to true form!
  5. Going to get down to 36 here tonight, will probably bring my peppers and seedlings inside just to be safe.
  6. Love this pickup! We might actually be able to shoot consistently next year.
  7. Mile always suggested this. Dude loved saving his coffee grounds and putting them in the garden.
  8. This is a one author paper by the “journal” Medical Hypotheses, which says its purpose is to publish “theoretical papers." Also I’m pretty sure the claims about ill effects from mask wearing have been debunked.
  9. We ran a marathon in Austin and it was probably one of my favorite cities we’ve visited. I *think* it’s near Texas Hill Country, or at least it felt like it for a few big hills. That photo reminds me of the lavender fields in France. Crazy beautiful.
  10. Great birthday present, and Happy Birthday!
  11. But why wouldn’t he say that? The vaccines are not 100% effective, so until herd immunity is reached (ha!) then vaccinated people should still take precautions when going out and about. I do think you have something about collectivism vs individualism. If I lived in the boonies, I might not practice the same precautions that I do in a big city. We live closely and intermingle with our neighbors and many of them are elderly. There’s very much a “take care of each” other attitude.
  12. This kind of event makes me glad that we are planting in containers and pots. Easy to move inside if we get a frost/near frost event. So far in the clear on the East Coast.
  13. That’s a bummer. Wish him well though. Tough to recover from a back injury like that.
  14. Planted some peppers yesterday - three habanero and three jalapeno. We are currently at 56 pots/containers on the terrace. My wife wants to be overwhlemed with greenery and flowers this spring and summer. This was her as I was counting pots over the weekend.
  15. I have been feeling pretty positive about cases and hospitalizations for the most part the past couple of months, but things are not trending well. Am worried that people are relaxing and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
  16. Saw Motley Crue on their Shout at the Devil and Theatre of Pain tours in Evansville. They put on a heck of a show both times, but the Shout at the Devin tour was epic!
  17. I took our all of our cacti outside today, we’ve got nothing but low 50s and high 40s in the forecast for next ten days, so I went ahead and moved them out. They are hardier than we give them credit for. I’ll wait another week or two to move tomatoes and peppers out.
  18. Yeah, something is weird there. I wonder if it’s a new variant or something?
  19. I forgot you ordered those! Am jealous. Hopefully you receive soon. I couldn’t find any starts of those and my adolescent cat would have a field day with seedlings if I tried to raise them in our window.
  20. You guys are maniacs, I just saw this on Twitter and was about to post it. Great news!
  21. You were the king of the peppers last year! I also remember that most of us had some ho hum yields on tomatoes and other veggies, hope that’s not the case this year. I switched up my slicer tomatoes b/c last year’s variety were pretty meh.
