  1. Sounds like CMW and the players have no clue what happened last night. That leaves it open to speculation and raises concerns of how will they fix it. If you have a drop off after the biggest win of the season, that's something people don't like but they've seen it before. Not just with IU basketball but with other teams and in other sports. It's not out of the realm of possibility. But last night was a complete no show and that's different. Where's the pride? Where's the leaders on the floor? Where's the coaching staff with any type of workable adjustments? Fact is, IU had no answers on either end of the floor and from the start it didn't look like they were interested in finding any. The common thread when IU has had really bad games this season is turnovers, not competing on the glass, poor shot selection, and looking lost on defense. All of that was apparent last night. Leaves you wondering what happened? After the win at purdue all the talk turned to IU being on the rise; possible great seeding in the tourney; and specifically who's leaving to go pro. I'd suggest IU lost its focus and thought they could walk on the court last night and win. Not mentally into the game. Not focused on the goal. Not mentally tough. This loss may hurt IU in many ways over the rest of this season but that cannot be a consideration right now. If they don't come out with a W over Michigan, it's may get very ugly because every team in the conference tourney is playing to win. There are no walk overs. You don't want to be riding a losing streak when selection Sunday gets here.
  2. You could argue a drop off after a big win and a quick turnaround, but they are just not able to match up tonight. Slower at every position. This is one of those games where discipline and cherishing the ball are key and they didn't come close on either end.
  3. IU thinks if they go faster they will score more per possession. Not that it matters. The D is nowhere to be found.
  4. Too easily switched into mismatchs inside. They just pick until TJD is isolated outside away from the basket and they have the advantage inside.
  5. You wonder where all this is heading. If it's all about the money its not about the players and certainly not about the fans. The Hallmark Horizon game of the week is... It's just a matter of time until college basketball as we know it is nothing but a memory.
  6. Clark may be a good scorer but she has shot IU back into the game twice now.
  7. This is the one I want. Sick of Fran crying, whining, and acting tough. And many of his players do the same. Time for IU to beat the crap out of Iowa and if Fran steps one foot near the IU bench I'd like someone to put him down.
  8. 21 offensive rebounds to 5 in favor of purdue. Crushed on the boards overall. FTs heavily in favor of purdue. TJD a non-factor most of the game. This will go down as one of the oddest yet most impressive IU wins over purdue ever.
  9. W What a huge win. Now take care of business at home.
  10. When was the last time purdue beat IU?
  11. Protecting TJD by letting him guard perimeter is smart
  12. Love how after any Purdue score they just let the ball bounce around, then toss to the ref and burn even more clock. Purdue helping by smacking the ball after they score.
  13. Look for Purdue to go inside on every possession now. IU has to deny the entry passes hard and try not to foul. Going to hbe rough now
  14. This should be interesting. The uber small lineup. They are a foul or two away from playing five perimeter players.
  15. Jalen looks fresh and playing loose. The best he's looked in a long time.
  16. The pump fake is a guaranteed fly by on any IU defender
  17. The in a hurry turnovers never get old
  18. Foul 2 points. Foul 2 points. Foul 2 points. Purdue doesn't have to make a basket.
  19. Some things don't change. Fouls and TJD struggling to score over size.
  20. A win is huge. A loss is not shocking. It just makes the last two home games must wins for any decent seeding.
  21. At this point, I'd be happy if they can take the two home games and call it a regular season at 12-8 in conference. They have been bad on the road more often than not all seasons, so last night was not new or surprising except when you consider just how poor the defense was; how little they competed on the boards; and how easily they folded the last 8 minutes of the game. CMW made the decision weeks ago to primarily run with seven and I believe we are seeing the impact. Trayce is losing his legs and especially late in games. You see it in his FTs. Last night he had zero blocks and couldn't keep the kid from MSU off the glass and at times couldn't get shots over him. That's not the TJD we've seen most of the season. I liked that CMW let Banks and Gunn get into the game even if it was just a few minutes. They have fresh legs and bring the energy they are not getting from Tamar and Jordan currently.
  22. Say what you want. Trayce is tired. By the end of the last five games he's not challenging on the glass like usual, hitting FTs, or blocking shots. It's the sum of all the minutes with very little help inside.
  23. Too many times it looks like the only two guys moving on offense are Trayce and Jalen. The D doesn't have to do much.
