  1. You're leaving a scholly on the table there DC.
  2. Opening Day! Hope still springs internal. We'll check back again on that feeling next week.
  3. I think it's fair to give the IU coaches some credit. Ware alluded to it in his thank you. TJD has spoken openly about it as well. Development can even mean something like getting hom to play harder for the full 40 minutes. Doesnt have to strictly mean his shooting form or footwork in the post improved (though that could be true as well)
  4. Well shoot. I was making a list of similar nicknames for you. Thought it would be fun. I guess if you're not a fan of MgBako getting called Taco, then you probably wouldn't like it if I referred to you as Burrito, Enchilada, or Taquito. Maybe Sauerkraut?
  5. That's where he ended up. But, he had already left before getting that opportunity.
  6. So, why did Thad step away when he did? I'm indifferent on Fife, but losing Thad when we did was a red flag about the direction of the program in my mind.
  7. My perception would be that teams accepting a NIT bid are in a better place than those declining a puck. Whatever the reason, declining the bid should raise eyebrows, if not a red flag.
  8. Headline in Lexington Herald Leader. Someone may be looking for a job, and it isn't the Kentucky Basketball Coach.
  9. You would seriously take Dennis Gates over Woodson? Missouri went 0-18 in the SEC this season.
  10. 15. Was able to complete this one fairly easily. Give me Reds and a couple of statistical/accomplishment categories and it's a fun grid to do. Only two squares that required any thought was the Angels/Jays and Angels/Twins. Regarding Lyman Bostock, I vividly remember getting ready to go to school and my mom asking my dad at breakfast, if he had told me yet about the baseball player that had been killed the night before. It's strange, because, as a baseball crazed 13 year old, I knew who Bostock was, but he played in the American League, and in the pre cable/satellite/streaming days, and being in a NL TV market, I don't really recall ever seeing him play. But, mom asking my dad that question, and dad telling me what happened, remains one of my most vivid memories of that time in my life.
  11. You specifically brought up Calipari and I responded with my thoughts on him. I don't recall other coaches being directly named in the conversation.
  12. And, for the record, when you get called out for breaking board rules, I want you to know I had nothing to do with it. It's not worth my time to make a stink about it.
  13. This sentence sums up Calipari's tenure at UK even BEFORE NIL.
  14. Are we still talking about Calipari here? That's how this conversation got started, so I assume we are. If that's the case, you should probably realize that Coach Cal does not have many of the attributes you just listed.
  15. In the grand scheme of life, it's really not that important. Why on earth would I make exceptions to my moral compass just so a team I root for could be better than it is? Do I want my kids looking back and thinking... 'Dad was against cheating unless it was IU basketball." " "Dad believed in working hard to get good grades in school, unless it was an IU basketball player." "Dad wants us to stay away from drugs, but doesn't think IU players should be punished for it'" 'Why did dad talk to us about violence, but turn a blind eye when a IU player sucker punched an opponent or beat up his girlfriend. If those things meet your definition of 'holier than thou', then I plead guilty and I'm proud of it.
  16. UConn will have Final Four experience in their favor. Whil UConn was celebrating the Championship last season, the Boilers were trying to figure out where FDU's campus is located and how close is it to St. Peter's.
  17. Louisville homicides. - 2018 (80 homicides) - 2023 (150 homicides) - 15 in March alone of this year (just March, does not include January & February).
  18. And, if you're anywhere in the Louisville area, you should take those seriously. The murder rate is totally out of control.
  19. Where you been? In reality, it opened last week when the Dodgers and Padres split a two game series in South Korea. The most important thing to remember about baseball is to never root for the Cardinals. 0-162 is not even sufficient enough suffering for them.
  20. In Knight's heyday, that kind of discrepancy happened year after year in IU's favor. It stands to reason the better teams with the better players will create more foul inducing situations than teams that lesser teams.
  21. Do you truly think that would be the 'reason' IU would have no interest in Calipari? Or, are you willing to consider the fact that there could be multiple factors why he would not be hired, that are both beyond what you perceive his 'bigness' may be, and that those reasons have legitimacy behind them.
