My computer rankings, updated through April 16 games, features a new #1 and Indiana continuing to move up. Indiana is 0-2 versus my Top 25 but a very respectable 4-5 versus my Top 50. The Big 10 ranks as the 6th best conference behind the SEC, ACC, Pac 12, Big 12, and Big West.

These kind of post on social media was what bothers me. Anyone can just post anything without any proof of being true. Until it is from a reliable college basketball media outlet I wouldn't believe a thing.Â
Is there a reliable college basketball media outlet? Maybe I'm getting old, but it seems like most of it is just clickbait, anymore.

Looking at the Top 25 and I see several teams with 10 losses, and TCU with 12! Is IU getting a "sniff" of the rankings???
It appears that in last week's USA/Today Coaches poll they would have factored out to #31. I don't know about the other polls, and this week's USA Today poll isn't out yet as far as I can tell. So yes, they are getting noticed by poll voters, it appears.

17th here! haha
17 in the RPI is awesome! My result-based metric has them #21, so very close. You know much more than I do as to what the selection committee considers when picking tournament teams. Is there a heavy emphasis on the RPI? Obviously, IU's predictive or score-based metric is not quite as good, but it's not bad, either.

Missed last week because I was on spring break with my family, but these are my national and Big 10 computer rankings through April 9 games. Again, the formula is very similar to the basketball NET rankings:
1 Virginia 2 Wake Forest 3 LSU 4 South Carolina 5 Kentucky 6 Vanderbilt 7 Florida 8 Duke 9 Stanford 10 Alabama 11 Tennessee 12 Arkansas 13 NC State 14 UCLA 15 Virginia Tech 16 Campbell 17 Connecticut 18 East Carolina 19 North Carolina 20 Louisville 21 Oregon 22 Old Dominion 23 Texas Tech 24 Texas 25 West Virginia Big 10:
32 Iowa 37 Nebraska 47 Rutgers 54 Indiana 64 Michigan St 65 Maryland 84 Ohio St 95 Illinois 106 Michigan 113 Penn St 121 Purdue 204 Minnesota 269 Northwestern -

That's when you break out the big news that you are the recruit and they want you as a preferred walk-on
Well, I'm 57 with white hair, so all hell would have broken loose, hahaha.

I really am surprised that no one was able to snap/post some actual pics of Ware and Ledlum out and about during their on campus visit at IU over Easter weekend. All that seem to be posted was the golf cart at Cook Hall. Did anyone see them on campus or out eating with coaches? Asking for a friend...lol
We were in Bloomington Saturday on the way back from spring break. Â We ate lunch at BuffaLouieâs, told my family we might see a basketball recruit, but we did not, lol.

Any updates on Ledlumâs OV? Hopefully itâs going well.
He has committed to IU but will still take his Tennessee visit.
Too soon? Â
By the way, I spent most of the day today in Alabama and will be in Bloomington tomorrow, so if this all turns out the way we hope, I believe itâs because I spread some good luck in both places, lol

I looked at the original post, and didnât see the name Keshon Gilbert. Have we been in contact with him? I know he had been discussed in this ever winding thread.Â
I asked an âinsiderâ on another site about himâŚ.said we had contacted him but Iowa State probably leads for him because of a prior connection.

Hard to believe Indiana can't recruit a guard who can score. No guard play winning becomes almost impossible!!We are toast.
I just though of Heywood Banks singing this post and then yelling, âyeah, toast!â

"I'd like to get 20-25 shots a game, Coach."
"Well, like I said, it is what it is. Mike Woodson isn't gonna let anybody get 20-25 shots a game, because at the end of the day, shit, it's a team game." Â
Iâd be willing to bet it went very much like that, with a âsonâ thrown in there somewhere.

According to a Rick Bozich tweet, Coach Knight has been hospitalized since Friday, and a letter has been sent out to former players asking for prayers. Â Whatever the issue is, hope he recovers and is back home soon.

Caleb Love fits really well with XJ, TG, Sparks, Cupps, and (Shedrick đ)
Great point.  Woodson seems to get the best out of certain guys that other coaches had trouble coaching.  Smith, X, Carmelo AnthonyâŚ

I don't see it either. The kid was ignored pretty much by the in-state schools while in high school. I also heard on one of the broadcasts that Michigan was his dream school.
I think this one is a non-starter.
Makes sense. Â Michigan is the dream school of many kids in this part of the state. Â Makes me want to vomit.

And any other mods I missed.
Anyway to create a function, I donât know, a bell, an emoji of some sorts, so that when a player commits it acts as an alarm or notification that actual news is being posted v the banter that one must wade through? For those who want real information, it would be a great serviceÂ
How about a thread just devoted only to news updates about portal players tied to IU? Â

I was either 6 or 7 during the 2002 championship run. Iâm sure I watched it, but nothing to remember of it. Only thing I remember for IUâs postseason successes is Tom Creamâs Sweet 16s
Funny the different perspectives we have on IU basketball just with our age differences. Â I was 10 when we won it all in 1976, and an IU student when we won it in â87. Â From my perspective, I find it kind of comical when people try to claim weâre not a blue blood program, but if you only remember the past 20 years or so, I guess it wouldnât seem like we are.

Lack of attention. Painter is up here every year for alumni club functions. I cannot remember the last time a basketball head coach came up here. Itâs not just PU and MSU. Essegian went to UW. There were 2 kids who went to Louisville within the last few years. DeShauhn Thomas to Ohio State. Warsaw had a point guard-Nick Moore maybe, that played at SMU but somewhere else I think.Â
ÂI never have inside information up here, but I do know someone who was very connected to the Blackhawk Christian program when Furst was there. Caleb was ours for the taking until Archie stopped paying attention to him. CAM assumed he was coming to IU and didnât need to continue recruiting him. Lost a recruit that could have helped out immensely with Raceâs injury and to spell TJD a few minutesÂ
Iâve been told we could have had Goode as well.
