I'm blaming our loss on not having XJ to handle the press allowing JHS to play off the ball. Additionally, having a 1/2 Race Thompson and no Geronimo was a big deal too. We did not play our best but having XJ would have made at least a 10 point difference.

Also, 15 shot FT disparity is you know what it is.

Pretty frustrating loss for a multitude of reasons. Really no one got it going for us at all.

I think it's pretty clear when you look at the past three games that as great as JHS is, we need our point guard to get healthy. We need a guy that can make it easy for everyone else and that's X.

Whatever Woodson is saying to work over the refs isn’t working. Get T’d up, yell, pull a Mccaffery, idk…but these foul call discrepancies against us (particularly on the road) is just blatantly awful. How can you win a game when the other team shoots 15 more free throws than you and takes double the amount of threes?

The officiating was crap but we also commit a TON of dumb fouls. We were jumping at their shooters instead of closing out and getting out of position & reaching in all night.
Also, you don’t win games when your PG shoots 1-14 and has twice as many turnovers than assists. At some point it’s Woody’s fault for not reigning him in or taking him off the court.

Can't win when JHS goes 1-for-14, we don't finish around the rim, and we don't really force any live balk turnovers.

With that said, the officiating also was a major cause of deciding that game. There's a reason not finishing around the rim killed us but didn't really hurt Maryland at all and the answer is in the free throw attempts discrepancy.

With JHS shooting as poorly as he was, a healthy XJ would’ve been big in this game. When he’s back (as long as he’s 80%+ of what he was) that’d give us 2 guards we could go to in support of TJD, which is big so one can take over if the other is off.

Also, a healthy XJ is our best on-ball perimeter defender by far. We could’ve used that tonight as well.

Gap between second half foul calls on Maryland.  the Reese foul was teh last called against Maryland,  So, 2 fouls in the final 13 and a half minutes.

They called a lot on them coming out of the half (and honestly still let a lot going in that stretch, too) and then just swallowed their whistles.

Obviously the Kopp flagrant, but on the same play JHS got fouled when he lost the ball.
