  1. And it was weird because her mom was in a wheelchair and bald.
  2. Durr was absolutely in our rotation last year.
  3. I want to know who in their top 11 in minutes played you don't think was a part of their rotation? If it was someone that got hurt or transferred, it kind of proves the point of why we should play a lot of guys because things like that happen....
  4. Correct, but that doesn't contradict what I said. 9 guys averaged double digits, and then two more who didn't average double digits played in 30+ games. 6 guys played in 30+ games and averaged double digits. I don't see anyone in their top 11 in minutes played you could make a case wasn't a part of their regular rotation. The only reason I'm harping on UNC is it was the first example Scott gave and it proves the exact opposite of what he was saying.
  5. Out of Carolina’s top 11 guys in TOTAL minutes played, every single one of them averaged double digit minutes, played in 30 or more games, or both. Thats absolutely not a team that wasn’t playing a deep rotation. You don’t play I. 30 games in mop up duty, you have a role for a few minutes per game at a minimum if you’re getting in that many games.
  6. But a guy playing 8 MPG is playing more than mop up duty in blowouts if he is playing in half the games. That’s a guy that got some sort of run in those games when it mattered. I am well aware if you add up a teams MPG it’ll be over 200, but teams playing 8 guys in their rotation all year is absolutely not the norm for good teams. It may tighten to that with injuries and towards the end of the year, but it isn’t what happens in normal circumstances over the entire season. If nothing else, playing more guys develops depth and keeps your stars fresh and healthy so that you can tighten the rotation when you need to.
  7. I didn’t fact check all of this, but I started with UNC since you did. They had 12 guys play 14 or more games. That doesn’t align to what you’re saying or asking for.
  8. Scott funnels his thoughts through the lens of how it would work out for him in his over 50 church league, not modern basketball.
  9. I’m all for tightening the rotation in certain games and in the tournament, no issue there. The way you’re suggesting it happen though just flat out doesn’t make sense at all. 120 minutes from X, JHS, Bates, and Banks is asking a ton. And 80 minutes for TJD, Race, Reneau, and Geronimo might be fine, but if you’re shortening the rotation why not play 3 guys there and 5 guys 1-3? My personal opinion is you’ll rarely see a lineup without two ball handlers and playmakers, which means JHS, X and Galloway are probably splitting 80 between the three of them. That leaves about 40 for Kopp, Bates, and Banks to split. Obviously in certain games and situations you probably won’t see them all play. Down low you probably would see Geronimo squeezed out in certain situations and let TJD, MR and Race play all 80. Just my two cents.
  10. So you want an 8 man rotation or a 10 man rotation? You are kind of saying both things. Realistically though, the two you mentioned are terrible candidates to play zero/limited minutes. You’re going to have 120 minutes 1-3 and if those two aren’t getting any I’m not sure how you get anywhere close to 120 from those spots.
  11. Ten guys doesn’t mean platoon though. If ten guys play and you adjust minutes throughout, that’s still a ten man rotation.
  12. Who would you not have expected to get minutes from Geronimo, Banks, Reneau, Galloway, and Bates/Kopp? Part of me would love to see it get trimmed down but I also think all those guys bring a lot to the table.
  13. Yup, it got pretty ugly with the defense of Fife. I personally remember how quick some were to trash our head coach and program. Again, I am personally very glad Dane Fife is gone and I think it’s telling that Izzo, Stephens, Lewis and Matta all had to hire assistant coaches this year and he didn’t end up on any of those staffs. I hope Fife doesn’t end up like another former IU player he shared a jersey number with but…
  14. Maybe, maybe not. The head coach in waiting was a piece of the puzzle, not the entire puzzle, about what was floating around. And a lot of the other stuff has pretty well been confirmed and there was also the performance issues, too. I am personally not the in the camp that this just wasn’t a fit and am very much in the camp of being glad Woody removed Fife quickly Hopefully if a similar situation plays out we will be quicker to back our head coach and All-Time great player over an assistant he decides needs to be let go because of the issues we do know happened. Hope y’all enjoy this Top 10 team because Fifes vision of college athletics would have never allowed it to happen IMO.
  15. Thankfully our way is nothing like the Sparty Way. I’d be turning in my fan card if we ever became like that place. Scummiest program in the country IMO.
  16. He looks like a nerd who has never played sports.
  17. Hines is probably worth rostering, not because he is a handcuff but he is good for 8-10 as is now. You can do worse at flex in a pinch, then obviously if Taylor did go down there is incremental value there.
  18. Not much Tua talk in here… I will just say someone should get fired. And the Dolphins shouldn’t let him play anymore - if he keeps playing and ends up with catastrophic injuries they are 100% responsible. They have an obligation to protect their players well being.
  19. He used to get him reservations at Italian restaurants every road trip.
  20. Saw Bill Simmons on Twitter suggest the Celts make Vogel the highest paid assistant in the league, let him miss some games to fly back and forth to his family in LA. I don't think it's a crazy idea at all. He has roots in Boston and a relationship with Stevens, and that team doesn't want to waste a year without a coach to win them games.
  21. Dolphins @ Bengals (-4) Vikings (-2.5) vs. Saints in London Commanders @ Cowboys (-3.5) Chargers (-5) @ Texans Bears @ Giants (-3.5) Bills (-3.5) @ Ravens Titans @ Colts (-3.5) Jaguars @ Eagles (-6.5) Browns (-1.5) @ Falcons Jets @ Steelers (-3.5) Seahawks @ Lions (-4.5) Cardinals @ Panthers (-1.5) Broncos @ Raiders (-2.5) Patriots @ Packers (-10.5) Chiefs (-2) @ Bucs Rams @ 49ers (-2.5)
  22. So if the players are more athletic why is the play worse in your mind? It would seem like it has to be the coaches, owners, league execs, etc. that have made all the changes you don't like to rules, schemes, and the like. Is that a fair assumption?
  23. What do you think is better about modern sports than sports from your childhood?
