I’ll agree that the Dubs aren’t as good as their teams 5 years ago that stack up to anyone historically, but they’re good enough to win the title this year.

2023 Jamie Kaiser Jr. Committed to Maryland

Guessing @btownqb just likes the mindset of a QB, not that he wants him to play football. -
I don't see them on Chrome on my Mac. I do see them on Safari on Mac and on iOS.

That series will be a nasty little foot note on CP3s legacy. Have to think this was his last, best shot at winning a title as a premier player. Major props to the Mavs and Kidd for what they did to him. Really made him work on both ends and frustrated him and it showed.

Do you go to the weather thread just to post you don’t pay attention to the weather?

Great day of basketball, I’m as excited for it as I am like the S16 or E8 days. Hope none of y’all miss it.

You have likely found your problem.

Disagree, it’s not subjective that the coaching is better. It’s not that elite college coaches couldn’t figure out the NBA, it’s that the average coach couldn’t. We can see first hand that an average NBA coach seems to be able to figure out college just fine - the X and O stuff simply isn’t as complicated in college by a decent margin. I agree completely. Better and more enjoyable aren’t the same.
-
I don’t see what’s debatable about the basketball being better. They have better players, better coaches, they run better stuff, the officiating isn’t nearly as bad… I don’t see much argument that the basketball itself isn’t drastically better in the NBA. It would be like arguing the NFL isn’t drastically better than college football. Doesn’t mean anyone who prefers college sports is wrong to prefer them, there’s plenty of great things to love about college sports.

The Colts have a better chance beating the Chiefs week 3 when Ryan has a few games under his belt and Taylor is starting to hit is stride. They have a better chance of beating the Texans Week 1 when they’re working out some of the kinks, because the Texans are a hot mess. The Chiefs are likely to hit the ground running. The Chiefs might be the worst team in the league to play week 1; Reid and Mahommes are not guys you want to give an offseason of prep to.
-
Would you rather be 1-0 playing the Texans or 0-1 playing the Chiefs?

90% of this board doesn’t realize how much better NBA basketball is than college, so you’re correct in saying they won’t get that.

'24-'25 College Hoops Across the Nation(NOT IU!)

Not really sure where to put this, but this seems like the best spot. My wife and I had dinner at my in-laws Country Club tonight and they had an event for Braden Smith and Alyssa Crocket - my daughter got his autograph about 5 times and a picture with him. He seems like a very classy, nice, kid. Alyssa Crocket, who is going to UM to play women's hoops, was equally great with my daughter. Obviously not rooting for an abundance of team success for those two, but they're both great kids that I hope do really well in college. -
Evansville Aces Want Ad.....

He does have to start somewhere as a head coach, but he is getting NBA head coaching interest. It would be really dumb of him to go to Evansville instead of waiting for an NBA job or a high-level college job. -
Jordan Hulls - Director of Recruiting
KoB2011 replied to KDB's topic in General Basketball Discussion
Yeah, I kind of figured that might be the concern. I'd be surprised if Hulls has issues connecting with black kids and if he does, it likely has nothing to do with the fact that he is white. -

Yeah I don't really get the coolness question - he was a stud four year college player then played nearly a decade of pro ball. Nothing about that profile says to me, "wow, high school kids are going to think this guy is a dork." -
I love what he said about both players. If they can continue the improvement we've already seen from them under Woody, look out.

Horford has been a really good basketball player for a really long time.

I can’t imagine a guy like him going to Evansville, that would be really short sighted IMO. -

This was Year 4 for him at UGA (which was his first big year at IU) and you could have made a pretty dang solid team filled with guys who left because of the transfer portal. I think the portal really disrupted how he was trying to build things there and was his undoing. -
I would probably call that a foul on Horford 🤷♂️ I generally agree that Giannis gets away with a lot of offensive fouls, though. It reminds me of Lebron in his prime, minus the flopping from Giannis.

Since @BGleasdoesn't seem to want to say it, I'll say it.... the call at the end of the Celts game yesterday was really bad and cost them going to overtime.

Top 50 Sports Figures From Indiana (HSN Challenge)

I will be honest, I had to look up a list of Olympians from Indiana to get that one. I figured it was him once I saw his accomplishments as they're pretty impressive. -
