  1. I guessed him too and it hasn't been responded to, but if Damon Bailey was on the list I'd argue George had as prolific an amateur career and did actually play for a while in the NFL. I can see it....
  2. He could do great at that level. I'd root for them (loosely) and would hope we schedule them regularly.
  3. I'd love to get Nova in the GG and UNC in the Challenge, then do a pre-season tournament and call it a day as far as tough competition goes non-conference.
  4. Why is there a disconnect? Rules and interpretations change in sports and at different levels of sports.
  5. Is it any harsher than the stuff he posts about people younger than him daily?
  6. This is a high school rule discussion you posted, what is the relevance? And I only made it through the first two examples but he’s wrong on the second one.
  7. Except they aren’t. And if you think that you don’t know modern basketball rules, which does explain a lot.
  8. I bet you see more gather steps followed by a legal two step euro that you think is three steps than you do actual travels.
  9. My perception is a lot of basketball fans think things are travels/carries/palming when they aren't, There's obviously times those are missed, but I hear a lot of complaints about it when it isn't there, too.
  10. It will be interesting to see how Harden adjusts - he's getting old and as you said, he's a fat boy. But he also become the elite, MVP player he was because he found every way to maximize for what the game allowed and I think he has the basketball IQ to find some way to adapt. He's not going to get back to where he was, but I still think he can be a number 2 to Embiids number 1, if they're ever both healthy at the same time in the playoffs.
  11. In general I think NFL officials do a good job and NBA in general isn't bad.
  12. College basketball officiating is the worst thing I've ever seen 🤣
  13. One of the most frustrating calls a ref can get wrong is when they call a travel/carry/palming/etc. that is not there.
  14. I’d argue that’s not palming, his hand isn’t under the ball it’s on the side.
  15. Are you talking about at the NBA level? If so, it’s because of a couple things IMO. The first being the NBA allowing zone defense now. That makes it much harder to get clean looks at the rim. Jordan wasn’t dealing with that, he could beat you off of the dribble and then it was over, now you beat your man off the dribble and there’s a guy waiting on you. The second is how good the bigs (and not really even just bigs at this point) are at maintaining verticality at the rim to give really good contests without fouling.
  16. Are you advocating that a guy getting clobbered in the head and breaking his elbow on the fall resulting in an ejection is bad for basketball?
  17. Yes, we get it, you hate individuals having any rights over their life in the form of free agency, NIL, or any ability to chose their own destiny. Athletes should be completely beholden to the whims of what we like as fans, to hell with wha they want.
  18. Great point - if we are looking at the Lakers and Celts for comparison then they should be getting compared to like the Dubs when they won 3 out of 4 and went to 5 straight finals, which is honestly an intriguing discussion IMO and would have been great matchups.
  19. The 80s were an incredible era, no disputing that from me. No one is trying to trash the 80s, you're the one taking shots at todays NBA and you're just objectively wrong. The NBA is currently as good as it's ever been - they've done a wonderful job recovering from the 90s and 00s. And most of the current superstars seem to be genuinely good dudes, which makes it even more fun.
  20. Sure, you got me there. They shot 45% with no three point line, but yes, scoring was high.... No, you can't bring up historical stats then call it an opinion. What you enjoy is an opinion, what is more efficient is not.
  21. Are you serious? This can't be serious..... Scoring per possession is literally about who can score the most points. eFG% is a very similar measure, it basically weights that a 3 is worth more than a 2.... And I gave turnovers just to show teams aren't playing some reckless style today.... Points per game are also as good as they've ever been. We just had our fourth consecutive year with scoring over 110 PPG for the first time ever, and when you compare it to other three year periods they did it in less possessions per game than those periods which means MORE SCORING ON LESS SHOTS. That's the definition of efficiency.
  22. You are correct about efficiency you just apparently can't read your own link.
