I'm going to challenge you on this, because you're one of the biggest proponents of Jordan Geronimo on this board and his numbers are crap. There were comments that recently from the board that it isn't fair to compare him to other athletic freaks such as HMP, but that is exactly who his numbers say he is.

If Weber, who has ties to Purdue, told him to go there that surely is tampering/a violation. It's no different than Adam's having kids he had legal guardianship over go to IU, and those players got suspensions as a result.

Sure - my point a couple weeks ago was there was a lot that other schools offered Purdue didn't and I was assured I was mistaken. I agree, Pack would have been an idiot to go to Purdue.

They do. People who don't get onboard with the NIL are rightfully being left behind in college basketball. We've seen it a lot recently.

Has he though? The numbers certainly don't back that up to this point. I like JG and hope he becomes a player for us but at this point he's nothing more than a long, bouncy, undersized and unskilled four. He has bad hands, handles, and feet with a mediocre (at best) shot. Those are all things he can improve, but HMP or Freddie McSwain seem like good comparisons for him to this point in his career.

I didn't say everything he says is false, but you said you don't like people spreading false information. It's a reasonable question why you'd listen to that man in particular if that's something you try to avoid.

I don't think this is unique to either of you, Woodson came out of left field and felt very much like just getting an IU guy for sake of getting an IU guy. I really, really wanted Musselman as well, I think the guy is an absolute stud of a coach. I think he could have worked here, but I do think for our situation how things worked out with Woody may have been the best fit. He has a message that resonates, he has a knowledge of the game second to none in college, and he has done a phenomenal job surrounding himself with a staff that could make up for his short comings (getting the door open with recruits, then letting his message shut that door). I personally could not be more happy with Woody's first 12 months.

The Hawks were just terrible when he took over. And they didn’t get better by doing a multi year tank and getting a few elite guys, they did it the hard way.

Neither of which I can see happening. I think the best shot anyone had at luring Billy back to college was us, and that was timing as much as anything with KD having left OKC. At this point Billy has established he is a very good NBA coach and I don’t see him walking from that. Jay Wright to UK… not happening.

He also completely turned the Hawks around in his time there and is probably the most successful Knicks coach of the last two decades. You don’t need to look any further than the Knicks this season and the Knicks last season to see the impact he makes.

Agree with all this, plus some people just want to retire/do something less stressful at a younger age. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, we are all wired differently.

The only way I see that changing is if TJD comes back and Reneau doesn't beat out Race. But in that scenario, he's still probably getting 15-20 a game backing up the 4 and 5 spots.

Great spot for him, hope he gets a send off season much like Al's.
