With Sharpe declaring for the draft and not playing one second for Kensucky I guess we have the none and done model now. As toxic as Wildcat fans are I can't imagine they will be all that nice to this player.

pUKe's 5 star Freshman, Shaedon Sharpe, declares for the draft. Reclassified, and enrolled in school in January. Never played a minute of college ball.
Even though the family vowed he would return to Lexington for the 22-23 season, the lure of being a projected top 10 draft pick is too much to ignore.
Can't say I feel sorry for Cal and Kentucky with how things turned out with Sharpe. Cal recycles players every year so this is funny that he never played a second for them.

Maybe. Cal hasn't won a tourney game in 3 years so I'm not putting them in any F4's anytime soon. I just think Calipari and the stress of that job has 1-2 years more max.
Even with Oscar returning I don't think they will be any better then they were this season. Cal has grown stale there and I think their Final Four days under him are over.

It’s the new hot gig…Sean Payton…so much more money in analyst stuff then ever before…and way less work.
Yep a lot less stress and still great money.

That makes more sense to me...a guy with Wright's resume wouldn't want to be below certain players in the pecking order...
Plus, as Dick Vitale has always said, he'd be undefeated as a TV analyst...
Yeah I don't see him going there. That team is all about Lebron and what he wants done. They won the bubble championship but are poorly managed anymore.

You would think Izzo, Boheim and Hamilton could be the next coaches to retire.
I wouldn't be shocked to see all of them retire in the next year or so.

We are the only option that would allow for him to continuing playing with 2 of his teammates. Seems like it should have some pull.
Supposedly there are reports he is looking for a Nike school and that Oregon might be hard to beat for him. IU having two teammates has to help them with being one of the favorites though. 👍

Seen the Pacers fo it to many times picking big white guys. That is not why I don't want the Pacers to pick him but he will get pushed around in the NBA. He can shoot and block shots but don't nsrr him bring a star in the NBA.
He can do a lot more then shoot and block shots. He can handle the ball like a guard and take you off the dribble. At his height he can do everything a 2 or 3 can do. This isn't the NBA of old, players don't get pushed around like they used to. That is why Chet is possibly the first pick of the draft and Kofi who is a bruiser is in danger of not being drafted.

Turdue fans on GBI see IU no better than 5th and Turdue ahead of them. Gotta love their optimism...or just laugh at it.
With Trayce and Hunter both possibly coming back I see Michigan 1st then IU 2nd next season in the B1G. Both should be Top 15 to start the season. Purdue if they happen to get Pack could be top 5 in the B1G but if not I think they are top 7 or 8.
I don't think the B1G is going to get a lot of respect in the pre-season polls, which in my opinion might be a good thing. Maybe the league will get their heads out of their rears and make some changes, mainly with how the games are officiated and played.

CBS mock draft two days ago. There are other mocks with different predictions.
This one has Ivey at #4 with these tepid numbers: 17 ppg, 36% 3-point shooting. So-so for college, but for a #4 draft pick?
Holmgren is who I want the Pacers to draft if they have the chance, but if not I would be extremely happy with Murray. Give me Keegan over Jaden any day of the week. I think his scoring ability will translate well to the NBA.

Payne signed with Jacksonville...
I missed that lol.
So they lost six rotation players, even with a good recruiting class that could be tough to replace.

Kofi signed w an agent and is headed to the NBA.
Losing Plummer and Frazier were big losses and now Kofi, it could be a little rough for the Illini next season.
I think they are losing 5 of their top 7 scorers. Also Payne is in the portal.

I’m sure some will complain about that but I think Purdue can and will be competitive from an NIL perspective. They just announced something last week I believe about it.
Most Power 5 schools should have no problem being competitive using NIL. The question is will they take advantage of it.

Purdue fans thinking the NIL is the university handing out bags of cash on top of the scholarships. Smh
Rent free
If they would happen to lose out on Nijel Pack their excuse will be that school handed out bigger NIL money bags lol.

you guys are going all-in on NIL!
Can’t blame the players for putting money high on the list
Every school needs to go all-in on NIL or eventually they will get left behind.

We say that until the hole in the defense is gaping. So many times last year we watched Kopp and Stewart's guy drive right around them through the lane only to put Trayce and Race in a predicament.
I agree with you 1000%. Shooters are absolutely needed. But he's essentially the same player as Kopp. And if we really reaching our potential, Kopp is coming off the bench.
If McNeil can hold his own defensively and shoot it at a high clip, then absolutely. He fills a bigger need.
Well I don't actually want McNeil either lol. I would rather stick with the roster the way it is now unless we could get a shooter that is somewhat competent on defense.
With Dennis he would be another Rob, a good defender but an inefficient offensive player.

The problem with that is, we really don't know what we're getting in JHS. Relying on JHS and Tamar could be dangerous if we are looking to take the next step. We've seen flashes of what Tamar can provide, but he's still relatively unproven.
I'd love to get Dennis. A veteran, athletic guy that loves defense. Good slasher and has a good shot. Shot it well as a freshman but regressed a bit for whatever reason. I think he fits in really well and would provide a ton of flexibility. We wouldn't have to rely on freshmen or unproven guys.
We need shooters more then we need defense. His last three seasons he shot 29.7 and twice 33.6 while averaging 8.4 PTS. Yes his defense would be a plus but his offense leaves a lot to be desired. Having an athletic wing is nice but having shooters would open the floor up so much more for our bigs. His fg% the last three seasons is 35.3 36.7 and 34.8, not exactly stellar. We would be gaining defense but not much on the offensive end.
If they do bring him in it is whatever, but I don't think he would move the needle much for the Hoosiers.

Iowa State's Tyrese Hunter enters the portal.
He is wanting a big NIL deal from the sounds of it. I would guess that he ends up at Kansas. Teams that aren't all in on the NIL better get started or fall way behind. No matter what someone's opinion on it is the NIL isn't going anywhere and is going to be as big a factor as playing time and fit when it comes to recruiting and transfers.

Now Kenya we need you to put all your focus on Kwame Evans.
They need to give that man whatever he wants so he stays in Bloomington.
Great job by the coaching staff to bring in a Top 5 recruiting class.

Good coaches make mistakes all the time on players. I don't think Dennis is what the Hoosiers need. He is Rob 2.0.
If he commits to the Hoosiers I will support him and hope he helps them win games. I just don't think he will move the needle as far as wins go. He is a good defender which is nice, but while they had problems defending wing players they had bigger problems making their 3s. Dennis doesn't help their shooting AT ALL, in fact he is a detriment when it comes to shooting.
