If IU would happen to get Reneau you would have to think with two of his teammates already on the Hoosiers that would make them one of the early favorites to get Kwame Evans. 👍
Having a connection with Montverde would be big for the future of IU with the players they usually end up having.

No, he wasn’t. Didn’t coach defense. Could not bring in the state’s best. Romeo would have never come to IU had Crean remained in charge
Ok but one big difference though is that Crean has shown he can win at a Power 5 level and Archie hasn't.

Supposedly their was cheering this morning at breakfast according to BTB
Either they really liked the food being served or maybe good news coming. 😁
Getting Reneau would be a nice boost for the Hoosiers.

One thing I’ll always wonder about Archie is, would things be different had he not had big men be the focus of his offense? He had success at Dayton with not many big men.
At IU, he had Morgan which he inherited. He had a broken Romeo for a year and then TJD. I feel, had TJD not been from Indiana, he wouldn’t have recruited him that much. College b-ball is so guard focused obviously and he had success with guard heavy teams.
now, you can equally argue that if you can’t win with an all American big man, you probably shouldn’t be coaching IU. But I’ll always wonder, if he had more guard focused teams, opposed to the big man he ultimately had on his roster (which is his doing anyway), if he would’ve had more success. He made his own bed, but seems he may have changed his ways a bit at IU.
His last team at IU was with a big man TJD and he won 12 games, but that same big man under Coach Woodson won 21. Yes there was player movement and X by the end of the season was a nice improvement but give me Franklin and Al time at IU over Stewart and Kopps any day. Until he proves otherwise Miller is a good Mid-Major but has a long ways to go to show that he can win at a Power 5 school.

I know his tenure wasn’t overwhelming but really tired of the constant bashing of CAM every chance some folks get
Crean was better than Archie in every way possible during his time at IU and he still gets bashed on, it is just how message boards are.

Levert is terrible…they did us a favor taking him off our hands. We got pick 31 plus at worst two seconds.
Yeah whatever picks they do end up getting are a bonus, getting rid of Levert was the best thing about the trade. 👍

The Big Ten is going to need to change the way they allow games to be called.
They need to do something that is for sure. 👍

Just be happy we might have a guy that can knock down some 3s. Been a long time since we had a knock down shooter…Hulls??
Looks like he is probably more athletic than Hulls also.

No they aren’t. They gave Randle a max contract to prove it. I’d take 3 more years of AD who would be much easier to flip later in his contract than 4 more of Randle.
Randle is so weird, he looked like he was starting to be a decent player for them but now someone they will probably get rid of and very few teams will want to trade much for.

It’s why I think the Davis for Randle trade works because Randle wore out his welcome in NY and would warrant NY first coming back. Plus if Davis stays healthy that is an upgrade and perhaps they could pair a young star with him.
Davis is starting to get to that point where teams are not going to want to trade for him because of his injury history. He misses so many games in a season anymore that trading for him would be a huge gamble. That being said it is the Knicks under Dolson you are talking about and no one has ever accused them of being smart so it is possible with them.

Well late in games, especially where we squandered it, we needed defense on the wing if you can recall Johnny Davis in both games, Branham for OSU coming down every trip late, and Murray popping 8/10 from three. If we had a defensive stopper on the wing late in the game, we arguably could have won about four more games without too much of a leap of imagination.
That is good but man we need some shooters and this guy isn't it. Yes we had problems with a couple of players on the wings at times, but one problem we almost always had was 3-pt shooting. While I think some of our guys will improve beyond the arc I would like to bring in a guy that is already good from there. Just think how many games we would have won if we had shot better from 3-pt land, especially considering the Hoosiers defense was already pretty good.

Career 40% 2 pt shooter and 34% 3 pt shooter who shot under 30% from three last year, his 4th year at Wichita St. Averaged 8-9 pts all four years, playing 26 to 31 minutes.
Yeah this one seams like a headscratcher to contact. His defense is pretty good though.

That list is tainted by Memphis...just laughable that he sees Penny as a coach. He's got three real quality X/O guys there and the rest are unknowns/question marks and outright pretenders.
Also other then Gonzaga all are in the south, even though Kensucky is kind of border line southern. He must have his region he likes.

Not sure I get all the love for the Illini. Even with kofi back not sure that is a top 25 team. Melenzas is a nice player and verdonk is too. Not sure about the guards. The top 7 teams or so last year ranged from 15-5 to 12-8. It not that hard for those teams to lose a few more. Iu could easily win 3 or 4 more even without TJD next year. Had we stayed healthy and caught a break or two we easily could have won 3 more games. If the experts expect improved from Illini and Wisconsin and Purdue players why not IU. We could easily move up the standings
Frazier and Plummer will be big losses for the Illini even if Kofi does decide to return. If he leaves they will be middle of the road at best.

Compare the overall talent Barnes has had in his career versus Painter. It ain’t close.
Maybe so but let's not act like Painter hasn't failed repeatedly in the tournament also with talented teams.

I feel like Barnes almost always had top level talent too and squandered it pretty often.
Purdue had a lottery pick this season and didn't win anything with him. So I guess Painter and Barnes are similar.

No it can't because next year is lottery protected as well
Ok forgot about that. But I still would be fine if it's next seasons, sounds like a better draft.

I think I would like it this year because it will be in the range of 16-18. If the Cavs stay healthy next year you might be looking somewhere in the 20's.also with a top 5-6 pick this year to go along a pick around 16 and the 33rd pick we cod set up good for the future.
Possible but anything can happen, this year the highest it can be is 16. Next year Cleveland might be good but there is also a chance they suck and the pick could be a lot higher.

So far not looking good for the Cavs against the Nets down by 16 at the half. Need the Cavs to either win this one or the next play in game for the Pacers to get the Cavs 1st round pick.
I would be ok with them not getting the Cavs pick this year. I really haven't looked but supposedly next years is a deeper draft.

You still have to have depth to get to that point. I wasn't confusing you with anyone.
Kansas played 9 dudes 9 mins or more a game.
Actually you were, because show me anywhere that I said you can win with 7 players. I will be waiting.
