I don't get the MSU and IU have the same qualifications, we have the same record and Quad wins. I assume there are multiple teams with the same wins qualification. We all know it comes down to how you win. Who you beat and by how much. Also how badly you get beat by those Quad losses. And we all know we have way to many double digit losses on the season. It's why we're ranked so low in the net. It's really not hard to control that. Don;t get your ass handed to you. And hand bad teams their asses. We did neither this year. We are what we are, even if we have won some late season game. Had those wins been by 15+ points for 4 games in a row, i assume we would be in the picture. But we didn't. If we don't make it, it is completely our own fault for not handling business. Do better next year and not be in this position.

All big ten mention is a slap in Malik’s face
should have been 2nd or 3rd team
plays no defense, doesn't rebound, doesn't block out, doesn't pass particularly well. Is a beast on the block going through double and triple teams. Also complains about every single foul against and not called for him. Surprised he got honorable mention. Takes more than just scoring.
And i Like Malik. Just needs to expand his game beyond the post to the basket.

I'm curious where Kansas will end up on the seed line. Will the committee give them the benefit of doubt...or will they take into account injuries and say this is what you are today?
I know i have heard in the past the committee does look at injuries. So if they have a bad injury to a major player at the time, they will take it into consideration.

So is blocking out. Why can't a coach with 45 years of high level experience get a team to block out and call out screens 30 games into a season?
Not calling out Coach Woodson on this, but in the NBA, they aren't coaching or teaching fundamentals. You're expected to know how to play ball. Its teaching systems at the level.

He seems like a class act kid. I doubt he ever says anything about why.

TJD with a big dunk over Wimby tonight i think. Wish i had the clip

we can complain and wail and wonder all we like. We all know exactly why, even if we don't like it. We didn't handle business against the craptastic teams and took to many 12+ L's to teams that are good. It is what it is. Hard to recover from multiple 15+ losses.

Maryland 77
The net makes no sense and I know we have waxed in a lot of games but our quad one and win loss record is as good as any team in the 10 to 12 seed range. The strength of schedule is also much better than any of those teams
Not saying we should be in but we certainly deserve to be looked at and a 2 more wins should make it interesting
Getting your ass handed to you 6+ times by 12 and not beating very many teams by more than 12 has destroyed the NET for this team. It is truly the only thing i can think of that is tanking them

we're currently 93 in the Net. We somehow dropped from yesterday to today

Anthony Wright on Twitter said people shouldn’t freak out about losing Liam because there will be lots of him that are the exact same as him but 3 years older. Already true.
Disagree with this on multiple levels. The decommit says something and everyone should be listening. It was also our only recruit for '24 and looked to be a proven player. And lastly, while there is a possibility that there might be a 3 year older version of him in the portal, much like last year, none of them chose IU last year. Its on the more unlikely side that those same level of players choose IU this year.
I mean it could happen, but i am not putting all my chickens in the portal basket.
But we can hope.

I’d imagine the G league would be a paycut vs what he’d get in NIL. Agreed with everything else.
May not want to do the class thing and focus wholely on basketball but yeah, depends on how much money he is making in NIL

I dont know anything about this person or team, just came across it and I want this AD at IU.
They were 4-26 last year and 5-25 this year. Not surprised she got fired oof. But maybe wait until after the mandatory media session to do it.

while i don't have an issue with them standing up for their coach - this screams to me that Woodson has said things to the team like, "I hope you guys are happy. You are playing so bad that they are saying I should be fired." if players are interviewed and that question comes up - yes, definitely defend your coach. otherwise do not bring it up!
Honestly i doubt Coach Woodson has mentioned to the team at all. These kids are Social Media gurus and read about everything that is posted. Should they have said something at Sr night, probably not. Coach should have not said anything at all. He should have shut everyone up by winning games, recruiting the best players for IU, and setting the program up for success. The best way to run salt in detractors wounds is to succeed without ever acknowledging them.
Just my opinion though

Mgbako is not even in consideration for the nba this year. He’s either back or transferring.
He could decide to go G League and get paid to develop. I don't think he will. Its more likely he would transfer than do that. More than likely, he is back and out best player on next years team. He has been pretty good all year, other than defense.

It really is. Especially for those guys that are "just a tick below average" athletically for NBA spot. TJ Leaf is a great example. DOMINATED the G league, couldn't make it work with the Pacers. Maybe Garza is the same, maybe JHS is in the category, we'll see.
My fear for JHS is he is just a tad unathletic. He isn't jump out of the Arena like alot of them. Can he make, i sure as hell hope so. Such a good kid

When you hire an alum who had success as a player you risk an ugly divorce if things go poorly.
CMW has been attacked repeatedly. He believes he's doing the job. I get him wanting to fight back. He's also old school without a polished response. Expect some awkward exchanges.
It all comes down to this offseason and who he can add. Minus some legit players being added, it's going to get much uglier than what we've seen so far.
Are there any 2024 kids still not signed that we could target and go after. So we don't have to have all Portal players? Anyone deep into the recruiting area know more?

I really hope JHS blows up and becomes a star. I really did enjoy watching him play. Unfortunately, those 22 points need to translate when he gets the chance. I mean Garza from Iowa averages like 36 in the G League and 2.7 in the NBA. It is so hard to translate that sometimes.

Appreciate the kind words, but there might be a misunderstanding. I'm saying the resumes of the two schools are closer than bracketologists are projecting. Efficiency metrics are disparate because of scoring margins, and that drives KenPom, Torvik and NET rankings. But NCAA resumes are outcome based, and after today the actual wins, losses and quality of opponents aren't far off between us and MSU.
One big thing that kills us. We have way too many big losses. We had 6 over 12 points and 4 off those were closer to 20. Those will absolutely kill you
