We'd probably drop to 105.
Depends. Win by 12+ in each and you moved more. You know this. You don't like it but it's how it works.

So you can't be happy with a win even if you don't think the coach is good
I just don't care anymore. Its not just the coach. I don't really like this team, coach, administration or BOT. It's an overall lack of care for IU basketball

This season isn't what everybody wished for but really 18-13 isn't to far off from where we were predicted to finish. We knew there would be a drop off from last year but not as much as we saw for most of the year.
We as fans should know that all of our criticism gets back to the team and might effect them. I don't like how we as fans treat the players for the most part. Woodson is a grown man and making millions do he can take it. I noticed how Leal put a jab in with the fans as well and it was warranted
You're tiring Scott. Pick one side and stay there please. You can't talk sh1t for a month about the coach and then jump back and tell us to be better fans blah blah blah. It's exhausting.

What would our NET be if we won 2 of 3 against Penn st Nebraska northwestern at home
Our net would be good if we had blown out the crap teams in the noncon and did not have 4+ 15 point losses against good teams. Margin of victory has a lot of sway

i am just to jaded anymore when it comes to IU basketball. I cannot enjoy wins. I also have zero response to losses. I just don't care. I can only see the negative and the excuses and not the joy of the win. I know Scott will call me a bad fan and maybe I am now. Congrats on the win, I just don't care.

Crean was a disaster and that was proven at UGA as well. Seems like a good guy but not a good coach. IU should not have to settle for guys like Crean, Archie, Woodson, etc. Pearl would light this place up !!
He was a disaster at UGA, but had the best results we have had in 20 years. Did he have faults, yup and i was ok when the was replaced. But we should have replaced him with a much larger/better suited coach from that point.

Put Tom Crean and Jordy Hulls in charge of scouting/recruit visits, etc. Hell idk. lol
Hell put Coach Crean in charge of the team lol. At this point, he is the top of the hump over the last 20 years

That's what's going on. Simons and Buckner weren't on board with a change so Woodson is back with a lot of NIL money. Basically IU is planning on buying a team in the portal. So we'll see what happens. What could go wrong?
we have an empty roster in '25 and need to buy 7 more players again

If true, I assume this has been shared with Dolson and the succession planning is underway? Makes sense as to why the admin would shoot down any rumors that we’re moving on at seasons end. Also gives Dolson plenty of time to lock down a replacement well in advance, while saving IU Woody’s $14M buyout.
Woodson will be here until he dies on the court. He isn't being fired, retiring or any other reason. He will be our coach until the day he doesn't want to. Regardless of how the seasons play out.

One of the complaints of the NET, especially this season, is that it's too reliant on efficiency metrics. Rankings and ratings found at KenPom and Torvik are predictive, giving you expected outcomes for the future.
Your resume should be based on what you've accomplished. To that end, other metrics like Wins Above Bubble or Strength of Record. Indiana actually comes out better here, not a Tournament team, but not a disaster like the early Crean teams. By WAB we're 64, and by SOR we're 54. Our performances against lowly teams in the non-con, FGCU and Army especially, are dragging down our metrics but perhaps aren't the best indicator of this team today.
Filter Torvik for just conference play and we jump from 85 to 62. Agreed, not great, but that's in line with where we ranked for conference play the last two years of Archie.
If we could pick and choose our own metrics we can make it look better, but so could every team which mean it would also affect where we stand. It really boils down to the fact we don't have enough 15+ point wins against bad teams and to many 15+ losses to good teams. We are just bad all around. Just have to accept it and move on.

I don't believe this at all. He might not be the coach we want going forward but he has coached and played long enough to know what his record is in both leagues. This is just throwing shit at a guy for no reason other than they want him gone.

I was responding to the notion that NET doesn’t matter much, that it’s based on quad records. If true, MSU is at best a bubble team
St Johns is probably currently out and their quad 1 and 2 record is just as good as MSU
They don't really ever call it out, but Margin of Victory is HUGE in the net. The more you win by, the better off you are. Is it an indication of how elite you are, there could be an argument there. I know wins are wins and it doesn't matter if you win every game by 1, you still win every game. But if you look at paper only and have 1 team with an equal number of Q1, 2 and 3 wins/losses to a similar team and one team has an average win rate of 17 points and the other is 3 points.

We're wading into Brad Steven level of rumor and innuendo. There are going to be a very large group of fans disappointed and unhappy when absolutely nothing happens this year.

…. on my way to the Seymour sectional tonight. It’s really a great time of year for everyone!
My go to,….bag of pop corn and a Mountain Dew, everytime… lol
I lost to Seymour my Jr year in football sectionals. We were like ranked #2/3 and they ended up going all the way to state and losing to Hobart. Was the only good year Boonville had up until a couple years ago with the Mockobee kid who is now at Purdue.

No one is asking you too. You are not her demographic. Iowa has nothing sports related. She is the biggest thing out here in forever. She is just doing what she can to earn money. I don't blame her at all. Cringe or not

She's still annoying but she has grown as a human, it appears. Still whines and baits for calls but honestly, who doesn't. If she's ours, unless she does some egregious stuff, she will win much of the city and state over. Idk about corn flakes though, that's a little extreme.
If someone said they were going to make a cereal and put you on the box and you are going to make 1mil from it. Would you do it as a 20 year old college athlete?

Don't disagree. But I just don't know another way to compare wins. But it probably shouldn't count for so much.
