If Purdue is going to make a run, I really hope it’s this year.

Am I subject to public floggings if I say I kind of hope they do? I swear I’m not making the following up…..I’m….ummmm….kind of dating a Purdue cheerleader. No, not former…current. Yeah, I wouldn’t believe me either, but that’s a whole separate topic. 🤣

IU wasn’t worth a damn since December anyway and if they’re ever going to make a run….might as well be her senior year.

I’m going to go hide now before I see torches and pitchforks. :coffee:

Watching ESPN, they all agree Purdue has by far the easiest path. Take your argument to Bilas, Greenberg and JayWill

It’s the “if they don’t this year, they never will” comment. The 2019 team was maybe Painter’s 5th or 6th most talented team and they were less than a second away from the F4. If it doesn’t happen this year, it can and will happen at some point.

Instead of talking up Benter he says, "he's better than Jake Heidbreder", knowing that I'm a Floyd Central fan. Jake Heidbreder is very good. If he played for Indiana he'd be their best guard.

He did talk up Benter. Your “he’s a good shooter but not a good athlete” comment was just a chance for him to call you out on a bad take.

if you dont know there is a difference i dont know what to tell you.

They’ve lost 2 non-conference games the last 3 years combined. Officiating isn’t hurting them when they’re not in conference. Not sure why people magically think it’s different when they aren’t playing B1G teams.

He definitely should get more fouls called against him than he does.  And unfortunately he will come Tournament time.  Not saying he isn't good.  He has a soft touch, knows his spacing and can shoot well within 12 feet.  He just gets away with alot of contact (B1G ref'ing issues for sure) and he takes advantage of it.  He won't get that consideration down the stretch.

Based on his past tournaments, he’s been called for 0 fouls, 1 foul, 2 fouls (twice), and 3 fouls. The 3-foul game was when he backed up Trevion. So I’m curious why you think it’ll be different this tournament than his past ones?

Is it just me, but does anyone else think TJD will eventually be more valuable and successful than Edey in the NBA?
….not that it matters or s a p*ssin’ contest or anything? Lol

I don’t think it’s that crazy. The league isn’t like it was 20 years ago where guys Edey’s size had a bigger role.

I was a ref at one time. no such rule as over the back as people like to call it. its a push you are calling. but yes I would foul Edey out in the first half of every game. Purdue is in trouble come tournament time by the way Big Ten refs call their games. Good refs will have Edey with 2 or 3 fouls in the first 15 mins.

Again, they didn’t lose before the conference started so this whole “once they get away from Big Ten refs” idea doesn’t hold any weight. Edey has yet to be in serious foul trouble in any of the NCAA tournament games he’s played in so why would that magically change this year?
