Hey guys long time lurker here and decided to finally make an account after seeing some of my tweets shared. Glad you all have enjoyed the nuggets I am able to share from time to time. I'm not always going to be the first to report something, I normally try to wait until I hear the same thing from 2 sources. I have a lot of trust in my sources, and for anyone with doubts I would like to point out that we had the scoop on Charlton Warren and the DC interviews way before anyone else.

    Who's next!? :)

Fife is the perfect guy.  His 3 point % went:  24, 22, 30, 48 (freshman-senior).  His volume also went way up his senior year.

Whether it was confidence, practice, or a combination of both, Dane was a completely different shooter his senior season. I remember thinking he was better his senior year, but I didn't realize it was THAT much better.

Let's hope he shares his secret with Rob. Fife's defense was outstanding and had to have kept his confidence up when his shot wasn't falling. Hopefully Rob can do something similar this season.

Yes, the story with Fife was a mental health issue/anxiety. He started taking Zoloft and it helped calm his nerves. He talked about this on an episode of Hoosier Hysterics.

Kid has the raw material. Seems like a lifetime ago, but remember the Phini-three against Butler? Just needs someone to shape that raw material.

Fife should be able to reach this guy. He's just lost all confidence and needs to have some fun out there and relax. My hope is Woody lets these guys have some fun. I am  not blaming Archie per se, but the team played tight under him. Let these guys loose.

A lot of transfers in the program every year it seems.

Yeah, but this year has been pretty extreme. I assume this is all about playing time? Weird that this is happening as the program is as successful as it's ever been. You'd think more players (especially those who have been there for a while) would want to enjoy the success. They lost to the National Champ runner ups and played them tough.

We’re recruiting a whole different level in my opinion. That video I watched where someone commented 2:20 in other thread…believe the kids now call that “drip”.

IU and CMW are attractive to a whole different breed, as well as the regular in-state kids. Woody ain’t here at age 63 to make the tournament consistently. He wants number 6.

    This is what Woody brings...connections.

Go get him Mike! This is my favorite kid in the group of guys we are on. Inside out game with size and physicality to hold up in the B1G.

Yeah, he's already got some bulk. So he's going to be a physical presence when he puts on more muscle.

Before y’all go “all in” with your chips, you might want to see the team win some real games and not lose at home to in-state rivals.

Thad Matta is still the key ingredient in my opinion.

I think the point is, the moves they have been making are the best the program has done in a long time. BIG STRIDES. Matta hire was huge.

  8. What I love most about all of this is, they are spending $$$ on coaches. These are guys who are very well connected and respected. To be honest, this situation is as good as hiring Stevens. I too and most people I knew, were not high on hiring Woodson. We were all wrong. What I wanted IU to do was build a foundation for long term success. With who they have brought in, any hand off from Woodson (hopefully after success) to his successor (Fife?) will have been working with experienced guys (Woodson, Matta, Hill, Hunter) and younger "up and comers" and everything in between (Larry Brown, CBK, Isiah, etc.). This is a very, very impressive staff. Compare this to Archie's staff and it's night and day. Any disappointment on my end was erased when they got Matta and Fife, the rest of this is over-the-top. Nothing is certain, but outside of them getting caught cheating, I don't see how this can fail.

I’ll be honest I was skeptical of coach Woodson but he has been impressive. If he has success which I think he will then I could see him retiring here because I don’t think he would leave for greener pastures. So my question is how long does everyone think he could realistically be here for with him being in his early 60s?

    10 years.

    ....and then Izzo.

Then add in the transfer portal and the NIL.....the CBB landscape will be interesting 5 years from now. You have to think Duke and UNC will have some growing pains. And who knows what's going on with Kentucky.

Big time CBB programs are or will have to start approaching how they operate much differently. Archie's failure seems similar to why these older guys are leaving. It's a multi level operation much more aligned to the NBA than it used to be. At some point it will come semi full circle though where the coaches just coach and everyone else in the program handles the rest of it. As it stands now, head coaches are going to burn out way faster than before and/or you're only going to have total "marketing" or "charisma" type guys and older school "coaching coaches" who love the x's and o's but not so much the rest, will be relegated to assistants or lead smaller programs.

FBeaugh on rivals says he believes Stevens is simply taking a break for a year and will take the Duke Job

The rumors will be there no matter the truth, but I highly doubt any of this is true. Doesn't mean Stevens won't end up there. But I'm betting he won't. Talk about tough shoes to fill, and Coach K is going to be able to choose his replacement. That I know 100%.

    No doubt.

Is Jeremiah playing up a year or two?  He looked really young/and really short compared to most of the other guards on the floor.

That being said, he looks good...nice stroke and good handles for his level.  Plays with a lot of confidence and moxie.  Hopefully he harnesses that stuff positively and doesn't end up like the youngest Gordon brother, who looked awesome in jr. high only to fade away in high school to the point of not even being on IU's radar at the end.

This stuff is pretty silly. That Luke Brown video was ridiculous. It's encouraging dumb stuff. You can be a total baller at that level purely because you have more experience or grow earlier than the other kids. Not that they will not succeed, but I have seen plenty of "can't miss" 7th graders meet their match once the reach a certain level. Fancy dribbling and passing will only get you so far. I am not hating on these guys, but the innocence of these kids is being stripped away earlier and earlier these days, but it's the times we live in and isn't going away.

I give credit to Dolson for completely rebooting IU basketball. A solid coaching hire with an IU background, hiring Matta, paying a lot more for assistant coaches, and letting CMW have the ability to set things up the way he wants them is working wonders.

Maybe the prior coaches had the flexibility to do the same things but they sure did not have the vision or willingness to try something new. Maybe it was Glass holding them back. I'm just glad IU seems to be willing to shake things up in a big way. Yes, they have to win but at least it feels like they have a plan in place and based on the results to this point, it's working.

    Matta hire was huge.

And just a little highlight reel to wet the whistle. Can’t wait to get this kid on campus!

What I like about the highlights most, his intensity. I want more guys like TJD with some swagger. We used to be the team that would start the scuffles, now we're the team that helps the opponent up off the ground. No more of that please. Intimidation is important. At home or on the road, fear no one and play like it. I haven't seen that at IU in a looooooong time. If I was a leader of the team, that's the first thing I would instill upon them.
