  1. My biggest concern, we could be better than last year and still be 1-2. We have 8-9 games we could win or lose. Teams that regularly make the playoffs would not have a schedule like ours. As fans we have to hang tough and prepare for a potentially wild ride (season).  Should be a lot of fun, but the schedule isn't doing us any favors. Win the first three and we're a top 10 team. Go 1-2 and we could still be a top 15-20 team, but will be a much tougher row to hoe.

For sure. I also like the size of these guards.  JHS/Scoop. These kids are nba size with clear nba skill sets. Score at all 3 levels…interchangeable and best of all love to defend! A guy like Leal/Kopp playing off them should get lots of good looks and they will make those around them better. This is the honeymoon phase like Howard when everyone is excited about your nba credentials and you just sell them on what CAN be….now he will have to have success to sell on others on what IS. Has to translate to the court. Archie also landed a couple 5* guys but he couldn’t get it to translate on the floor and he failed to continue following up with the next one. We need these level of kids in EVERY class. Stack em. Hopefully enough overlap to do something special. This is wonderful recruiting but we definitely need to take advantage of it. Also it’s no coincidence that both our top recruits came from basketball academies. IMG & Monteverde. These are elite schools to make inroads on. Don’t get me wrong we need top kids in Indiana but if you look at the lottery kids look where they went to HS. That’s where we need to go to compete with the best. It’s a new age…and these academies are like NBA factories. Heck we are pretty good spot for La Lamuire kid next year in Fears too….this might be the difference maker guys…recruiting taking a huge step up…and then getting the most out of them on the court!

We need to recruit nationally to compete for championships.

I agree with you assessment of James. Never seemed to improve. It feels like our 4 star recruits don't seem to excel as much as would be expected. We still haven't seen Cam Williams or Beau Robbins, and Rashawn Williams transferred out too. Just feels like these 4 star guys have been really underwhelming and I hope that trend changes.

This might be more of an indictment of the rankings than development. We also don't really know the full extent of attitude and health of players. Obviously you want your highest rated recruits to pan out, but if they are overrated or they are under-scouted (taken because of the rating) you're going to see some flops/transfers especially when overall recruiting improves. But it is weird how IU's higher guys don't seem to live up to their rankings. But that might be why they end up at IU to begin with.

Fair enough. I'm not saying its vulgar. I think it's them being a little salty that he didnt join them. I just think they should wish their buddies well. My comment was more of.....I never want to see Purdue win, but I hope Stickland has a good career. Hell of a player.

Everyone complains about guys being soft these days, but you're upset that they are ribbing a guy (who picked our arch rival) on Twitter? Come on now.

I love it. Now back it up.

Yeah, who cares if players talk smack, that's what I want my teams to do, show some moxy. Now when adults troll teenagers, that's a whole different deal. Like I can't believe adults ever troll kids online, like what losers. For example, some PU dude (ILLBoiler I do believe?) was trolling K. Lander about how he sucks and how dumb it was that he was trying to get sponsorship deals. What a total dork.

That would be his IG stories, he did say he wanted to study engineering, but he was unsure and still figuring that out. Stanford also plays ND for 5 years straight. Unfortunately, he will probably end up Purdue, but I have no evidence to back up that claim

If he ends up at PU, so be it. We’ve been kicking their ass on and off the field the last few years, so it’s hard to complain about losing a couple of recruiting battles. At the end off of the day, it’s about the results on the field.

    Northrup?

I went to North Side. Although South Side are our "arch rivals" (pun intended),  our biggest games in almost all sports were against Snider and Dwenger. Primarily because of proximity and having friends/people you knew who went to those schools. Concordia too, but their football team was never great. Northrop was a bit inconsistent and not very close (relative). It's much different these days because of the changing demographics and being able to choose (basically) where you want to go to school. North Side has really been impacted in a negative way by people moving away from the older neighborhoods.

Absolutely.  And don't forget Mike Hawley. That program has had great leadership and really kept their tradition and principles strong for decades. Quite impressive.

I think, "F" Snider. When I was in school, they were our biggest rivals. Them and Dwenger.

Sad thing is the top 5 classes in BIG per average recruit ranking are all from BIG East. I feel like Re alignment needs to happen or it’s going to be really really hard for IU to ever reach BIG championship. East is brutal.

Beat OSU, you have a chance. It's coming. That being said, the divisions need to be re-aligned. Why not just re-align them every 10 years or something?
