The O line and the offense was horrible all year. They absolutely wore the D down by the first six games. best players on both sides injured and our weaknesses were revealed and magnified for all to take advantage of, and they did! Hopefully we get a OC that will stick around for more than a year. First year DC second year bad OC coupled with injuries was the perfect storm. Seems like some on this board don't like and want to blame ELO culture for this debacle? Why wouldn't want the players to love and respect each other and the coaches?

    ELO!

I didn’t say the defense didn’t have injuries they just weren’t as costly and catastrophic to the game plan as the offense. My point was simply that the defense far underperformed compared to the offense…Injuries on both sides considered

The offense was not good most of the year last year too. The offensive game has not been good.

It was a little chaotic of a half with the turnovers. And the defensive boards are a focus point, but missing that many shots that will present more opportunities for them. Need to take better care of the ball. Very impressed with Lander. A couple bad decisions but great hustle, a few great passes, and his defense has been serviceable for sure.

Rebounding is still a concern, but it’s hard to rebound bricks and air balls.

I haven’t seen this anywhere, but could the Big Ten look any worse here? They either just don’t care about fair rule enforcement and player safety or are flat out dumb.

There is no way this isn’t targeting. His head shouldn’t be sideways in his helmet like that.

And if I’m not mistaken, this was also a late hit.

That’s exactly right.about the team will be worse next year! Unless they get some miracles in the transfer Portal! I don’t see that happening!
I mean we went from all most a full stadium to almost no one on senior day! That has to play on the coaches mines! I would included the players ,but they quit after the Maryland game !

How could they be worse though? I don’t believe that. This is probably one of the worse seasons ever…EVER.

Lander played 6 valuable minutes at crunch time...I know it's a small sample size, but I rewatched the whole second half. Rob was uncharacteristically inconsistent on the defensive end. The calf might have had something to do with it, but it wasn't a typical Rob defensive performance.

As for Khristian's fouls, the first one was a body to body...the type they let go a lot, but they called it. The second on was BS. Out of bounds play and he slipped a screen. His man grabbed his arm (you could see his elbow sleeve in its normal position, until the STJ kid grabbed KL's arm and pulled the sleeve down onto his wrist) then slipped and fell down.

As I said, I'm with you 100% on D...but watching both deal with St John's pressure, Khristian looked much more comfortable...

I think a lot of Rob's offensive woes are between his ears. His confidence on the offensive end is low...

Lander will get more PT, especially against smaller lineups

He can have a spot role and not be a core part of the rotation. His mindset is better so far this season but the production…

He'll be a part of the rotation.  Now he might not get more than 10 minutes a game if he continues to miss open shots, but I think he'll continue to be the first guard off the bench if he's healthy. He was still very good on defense today. Until Lander can keep his man in front of him, he'll be relegated to spot duty/foul trouble/injury role. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Lander get some more time, but his defense is still very suspect. I hope he sticks with it (IU that is, doesn't pout), because he'll be good once he gets stronger. It was nice to see him finish at the rim.

I can see a scenario where by the end of the year our we have a tight rotation of:

    TJD

    Race

    Kopp

    Bates

    X

    Lander

    Geronimo

    Galloway

And we are one of the toughest outs in the country. That’s a lot of really tough basketball players that do a lot of things well. I’m really excited for these next few months.

Rob is going to play, you can't just wish him out of the rotation. He's defense is going to be needed.

I guess someone saw Galloway’s mom post on Facebook “it’s broke, so pray for a fast recovery”.

This would blow. He was looking very solid so far. Hopefully it's not a "bad" break. If not I would assume they could do a medical redshirt?
