Anybody worried about Galloway leaving? I see people's starters next year, and he's not in many of them. He starts over Bates, no? Unless a special summer happens, TG played before Bates every game he was able to play in

Galloway and Leal will only leave if they are told to.  It is my understanding.

I don’t think IU really cares to validate it. It’s Dane Fife. Outside of a small group of crazies like us, it doesn’t resonate.

I still think that most people probably don’t want to believe what has been posted and confirmed by numerous insiders because frankly, it sucks. That doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

The problem is both most likely have some validity.  I know Fife was complaining about Woodson awhile back ago. He was complaining about Wittman, Todd and Hill.  Too much input.  Assistants being ignored.

I think most likely Fife has some MAGA in him that rubbed people the wrong way. He commented about masks earlier in the season.

if I was IU I would hire Adams or promote Walsh who will make a fantastic assistant some day.

Every 3rd party IU media outlet (ITH, R&R, etc.) has all either confirmed or strongly hinted at the accuracy of what was posted by Rabjohns. Is it really a “hatchet job” if it’s the truth?

Just a thought..what if what Rabjohns posted was a sanitized version of events?

Usually these things are more in the middle when it is made so public. IU is trying to validate firing one of their own and doing a very poor job of it.

I'm pretty stunned how many people are respecting (and even appreciating) this firing considering how its going down. Mike goes out of his way to explain hes being fired and hes not a fit, Rabjohns is given info that damages Fife's character on his way out, and we send an all-time hoosier packing after 1 year after preaching about bridging the past.

If he's insubordinate and constantly mentioning politics I dont think that has a place in a coaching staff either, but I dont know why Mike goes the extra step to specify that he was fired. It just seems intentionally abrasive. The fact that Rabjohns even leaked something like that is going to damage our reputation for future assistant hires unless its some Mike Woodson yes-man.

IU has mishandled everything from what it sounds like. Having the assistants in there and then hiring consultants who Woodson values more.  It’s a crap show.  This looks really bad for IU.  Wittman and the others need to be shown the door as well.

Why did you quote me? I mentioned Woodson the entire time. I never said anything about "iu" or JD Campbell?

You are saying it’s People other than IU making this bigger than what it is.  The only one doing that right now is IU and pushing it down to Rabjohns. In pure IU stupidity they are making it worse.

I can go along with that.

I'll be real though.. I think Woodson made the press release, and then has been recruiting/evaluating since. We and DD have made this into a MUCH bigger deal then it is. And again, I said we.. including me.

No IU is pushing the narrative at Peegs.  Dakich who I dislike isn’t wrong about Rabjohns. He is pushing a narrative for IU and most likely coming down from Campbell.

Dakich should speak for himself but I don't think he is saying that Woody explicitly launched a smear campaign.

What he is saying is that Peegs (the business) is obsequious to Woody and the program because their business relies on it.  Their business model requires access.  So they need to please Woody and the program.  If that requires them to crank out a hatchet job in a servile way without Woody telling them to do it.

Where do you think they are getting it? JD Campbell most likely. It is similar to when Crean was in trouble.  Campbell would threaten losing access to Peegs and others if they didn’t tone it down.  IU is screwing this up royally and it’s not a good look for them.

Terrible comparison. Not sure who to compare him to but the bottom ofnthe elevator shaft floor for his potential is above Brunk

Totally disagree.  He is only 6’8”/6’9” and not even athletic as Tom Pritchard.  He is more of a big body that takes up space and with his height that isn’t great.  He is ranked appropriately as he most likely is just a bench player.  One player that I don’t think is a need for this class.  Don’t need another bench center.  We need someone who will be more impactful.  If you are going to take someone who won’t play for a couple years take someone who has higher upside.

Durr and Duncomb can handle center position as we transition to pereimter focused team.Need shooters have bigs.

Really? Duncomb nobody has a clue on and Durr is just a backup type center.  This is where you want to go?  That is a crap ton of optimism there.

I'm gonna be real blunt here...I don't see anything positive that comes from speculative posts like this.

There's a lot of season left and a lot of opportunity for players to get better and earn time and for other players to get hurt opening up more playing time.  Barring detrimental conduct issues, I hate to see IU fans mentally shoving players out of the program.

It’s not fans mentally shoving.  He wants to play and he has offers for other places it seems.  His circle is not happy with how the season is coming along for him. He struggles with D and TOs right now.  Phinisee does D really well.  If we had a player who Woodson felt comfortable playing both sides he would play him.  He isn’t playing if Phinisee gets hurt. Bates, Leal and Galloway will get those minutes.  Unless something drastically changes, he most likely is gone.  Know an AAU coach who said it’s like he is being pushed out and they don’t think he is ready to contribute.

I am guessing here that maybe Florida and Alabama know its a 2 horse race and are moving on.

I don’t know about Florida but he has always seemed to be a backup for Bama to me which seems odd to say.  They have two top 25 kids they are in good with.  If they whiff here or pass they better be pretty sure they are getting one of the two. Clowney I think will end up being great and would love the addition. Scores at all three levels and has a Bosh/Turner vibe to me.

If I'm reading this correctly, the HH NIL Collective collects money from businesses, boosters and fans and uses it to pay IU athletes to promote Hoosier Hysterics?

In order to create name, image and likeness opportunities for Indiana University athletes and be able to pool resources from businesses, boosters and all fans, the Hoosier Hysterics NIL Collective has been created.

If there is a business, booster or just any fan who wants to contribute to NIL in general but doesn’t need a reciprocal relationship, the business or booster can contribute to the Collective, then the Collective will pool the money together to create significant NIL deals, and an athlete or athletes in turn promote Hoosier Hysterics. That could be social media posts, appearances, etc.

    https://247sports.com/college/indiana/Article/New-NIL-initiative-The-Hoosier-Hysterics-NIL-Collective-169529715/

So, this sounds like a way to pay players to appear on their podcast, using other peoples money.

Also pay for themselves to travel places and bring family.  They are losers and need to be stopped.  It’s embarrassing with the way they act and the crap they pull.

Get a life bro.  I wasn't overly impressed with one highlight video.  He averaged 16 points a game for his high school team in Dayton.

Being a 6'4" shooter playing alongside Shepherd gives plenty of space.

35 was sarcasm.  Is there a handful of Indiana kids like this kid?  Yes and we could go back decades, class after class and prove it.  Will he turn into a Herro?  Evidently thats the hope and guess.  Ill wait and see.

We can revisit this in 2-3 years.

That’s your problem.  One video.  Also it’s evident you like your extremes.  First 35 kids in Indiana and now a one and done first rounder.  The kid has a lot of great offers from Stanford, Indiana, OSU, Xavier, etc. Will he be great? Nobody knows that.  It’s projecting.  He is a coaches son, nice shot, smart kid, etc.  He handles the ball well.  Jordan Hulls averaged 16 ppg his senior season.  Anthony Leal averaged 18 his senior season.  I could go on for ages about D1 kids who averaged less or the same points as a sophomore.

I will leave this to the professionals. If Woodson, Fife, and team believe this guy deserves a scholarship, and Brown and Smith do not, the staff hasn't done anything for me to question that yet. I mean they do do this for a living. We just sit on our computers picking out potato chips from our belly buttons from last night.

All 13 scholarships aren't going to be All B1G players.

Agree and it’s not like a David William’s situation where we were the only school who offered.  High major schools have offered and he has nice height, etc.

“His feel, pace, decision making, floor awareness, and shot making abilities were all on display. Very confused on why he is not nationally ranked ”

Go back and read the 5000 page thread and see if i was on the Brown band wagon.  Let me help you.  I was not.  It is however well documented that Brown did just fine playing alongside high level aau talent.  I shed no tears about Brown or Smith, who in my worthless opinion both look better than this guy in limited available videos.

What this board will do, if he commits, is try every way possible to explain why he's better than those 2.  Maybe he will be.  We will have to wait and see but its perfectly ok for me to be less than impressed with a highlight video every now and then.  And its a ok for you to be impressed.

Well that is the problem.  It’s a highlight video.  Like I said, Indiana kid circle jerk.  Just stop.

We don't want to put all our eggs in one basket but I think Fears is probably leading recruit on the board. Certainly need to have other options and be in contact with other kids in case they blow up or your plan falls through. I also feel pretty good that Yasir has a lot of connections to point guards in the 21 class that have already committed elsewhere but if something doesn't work out could be on the table for us in the portal as well.

Who knows...the Schafino-Hood kid even though he might have combo guard size could also be a primary ball handler too. I certainly wouldn't turn him down.

Exactly.  Plenty of guards we are looking at.  I was just basically calling out the ridiculousness of comparing him to 35 other guards in Indiana.  People need to calm down on offers.  I get it.  I didn’t initially like the Woodson hire but then Fife came and I calmed down.  He got some good players to come in and I calmed down.  It’s like the Smith thing.  IU in 2022 is looking at a lot of different things other than PG.  It doesn’t look like a need with the three PGs we have.  2023 is different as we lose two of them.   Cupp has some potential and is a coach’s son. Just wait to freak out as I have learned as well.
