Woodson calling out Galloway and XJ in his postgame, without naming them specifically.
It’s him. His offense is the issue

Woodson is a terrible coach. He was average at best with an all American. He has no guard play and hasn’t recruited a playmaker and shooter since he got here. Firmly believe that McNeeley will be utilized incorrectly.

Yup. We've heard this before and have had talented shooters under Woodson.
Need to see we have an offense designed for it.
You can already see it’s not going to change next year. We will be going through the post with what they are recruiting if we get Queen and Reneau. Two bigs predominantly stuck in the paint. No play making guards yet. We had JHS which was a playmaker and hated watching our offense. Not enough movement. McNeeley needs to be utilized and ran through like Huerter from Maryland. Still who is going to get him the ball and shoot from the outside as well. I was saying this the other day. Amazes me that IU can’t recruit shooters. I think it’s guards looking at our offense and going why would I want to go there because it’s not ran for me. I know if I had a top 150 kid he wouldn’t be going to IU and I am an alumni for gods sake. I haven’t been thrilled with Woodson since he was hired and don’t think I ever will. Least amount of IU basketball I have watched in my life. Watch Purdue more. Sad state for me as it’s just bad basketball. I used to post on here a lot and now I barely do.

For those that want IU shooting a higher volume of 3s, it's coming...
You just have to have the right kids taking them...
see it when he isn’t just sitting in a corner. All our guards need a significant improvement .

I disagree with the premise.
The big bad refs are always out to get IU which is said every year and is just fan stupidity.

Both cam be true.
We sucked, the refs sucked. UCONN is way better than us. The refs were terrible.
Sucked for both. So non issue. Reneau has been a foul magnet for two years now. Too slow to guard perimeter 4s. Don’t switch with your five who is too slow and cannot guard outside the paint.

Indiana did? Like the players and coaches?
I doubt they complained that much post-game, should have though.
Fans. It’s always the refs. Bad calls on both sides. Indiana just got outhustled, UCONN shot better, etc. That’s it.

Indiana’s annual let’s blame it on the refs has begun.

You know what, while I'm at it, I'm gonna also post on the positive side. That was the #5 team in the nation. X was mostly out of the game. We definitely can get much better each game. Mbako worries me.
X came in and then they extended the lead. X just isn’t the guy you want to run the point. He is too emotional and has issues. Had a point to bring it to 5 and he turns it over and gets Reneau his fourth foul.

Games are won and lost before a game is even played. In this team’s case, it’s magnified and we’re seeing it unfold before our very eyes.
Guards or shooters weren’t a focus so we grabbed an Anthony Walker or a Payton Sparks! So frustrating. Perimeter play is what wins games…we don’t have it.
I could’ve sworn Woodson was going to a more guard oriented play once TJD left…seems like he’s doubled down on the opposite with less talent.
We just recruit the help out of PFs and Cs and players who can’t shoot. Our offense is atrocious to watch. Always has been especially when he goes two bigs.
-
End of the day it’s poor roster construction. It still amazes me we pass on guards that can shoot, etc for other players and then miss out on everyone. I haven’t been a fan of Woodson since he was hired and still am not. Offense has always been horrible to watch.

This is a Woodson issue. Stop blaming the assistants. He hires them. He makes the decisions on who to recruit and what not. He picks the roster. Poor roster construction. We have not had a shooter his entire time here. Our guards have not developed or been recruited over. It is all on him. This is going to be a bad year.

Yet I’m sure they will be ranked in the top 10 at the start of the next season.
Looks like a recipe for a train wreck.

Man, I knew their numbers were down but seven?!! LOL @ the Squid. Would be pure comedy if he ended up getting a CBI invite.
They are screwed this year. Team full of two Sophs who didn’t play last year much and sounds like 7 frosh. Doesn’t look good for them.

I hear fans saying Hart isn't good enough to play at IU. (although apparently the staff disagrees...)
What in the world is Kentucky doing recruiting him then?
Kentucky has 7 players. He wouldn’t be going to Kentucky if they had more players. This is the issue nowadays. Kids are being pushed down and filling spots late in the process. Kentucky has missed out on a ton of prospects and lost their starting shooting guard. They are hurting for players.

The coach at the previous school (Adams) pulled his scholarship for summer classes. Yeah, he couldn't stop Shannon from enrolling but he would have had to pay his own way.
I remember the board debating this last summer. I don't see a problem with what Adams did. The kid announced he was transferring and the school honored their commitment of his scholarship through the Spring semester, not sure why they should be on the hook for tying up a scholarship over the summer for him?
The scholarships are not tied up over the summer. They have until I believe September 1 to clear up any scholarship issues for the next year.

I don’t know why Leal can’t be that 40% 3pt shooter off the bench. He is athletic, he has good size at the 2, and at one point a very good shooter. No reason as an upperclassman this kid can’t contribute. I know it’s all between the ears but man this is his moment.
1 minute ago, DWB said:For all of you who think Gallo should get recruited over, and come off the bench. I have a serious question for you, and I'm not being sarcastic or detrimental. I'd really like to know from you guys the following:
IF...Trey increased his 3 pt shot volume to say, 6-7/game, and shot 40+%, would that change your opinion if he should come off the bench or get starter's minutes? (and assume that his defense and hustle remain constant, which it should or get better even).
It’s all could of and potentially can. We know what we know of Trey and Gunn. Neither were offensively good enough at the end of the season. Our three starting guards at the end of the season were 13, 12 and 11.9 PER. Great teams have players with 15+ PER. Trey has never been above 12 his entire career. He is a nice spark plug. He isn’t the type of player that is going to win you anything. X had a 15+ PER his entire career. Nice start. Need to upgrade with better and more efficient players. Like I said, Galloway is a nice spark plug but not reliable for heavy loads offensively.

And what has he shown on the court? 15 ppg? 41.3% from 3? 80% FT shooter?
What did he do when he played in a tougher conference instead of a midmajor or low Major?

MP told him up front no 💰 for committing…but he has every right to explore options
hopefully Purdue gets it together or joins the MAC….
He shouldn’t be asking for money with what he has shown on the court.

Yogi says HELLO....
And? Yogi was faster and more athletic as well. Yogi was a PG not a short 2 guard who had his starting spot taken away from him early and his role changed and played on a really bad team.
@Stlboiler23dont think this is an upgrade. This is just a roster fill for a year or hope he was greatly misused at Utah. He lost his starting role and role changed. Something to be concerned about especially when you play for a horrible team. He has also hoped around a lot. Proctor was better, taller, more efficient, etc.

Better shooting percentage from 3 than 2 which is interesting.
Be interesting to see how this works out. Short for a two guard at 6’1” and role changed for a bad team and minutes on average was less than 20 minutes per game. Didn’t even average more than 10 ppg last year. Probably more of a bench player than starter.

Why would PU turn down a commit from a top 100 in state kid?
Motor issues. Wanted to wait. This was last year before he blew up.

Just kind of seems Fife dug IU too much into a hole on this recruitment. Would like to have him but I’m not counting on it.
All the coaches wanted him to progress. It just wasn’t Fife. Rumor is Purdue turned down his commitment. Woodson wanted him to progress as well.
