  1. It will be interesting. Live sports content, while losing viewers, is holding up better than TV overall. NBA regular season primetime viewership was the same as 20 years ago, although down a lot from 10 years ago, but overall TV primetime viewing is down 40% in the last 20 years. One caveat: Nielson started counting out of home viewership in 2020 (bars, etc).
  2. “Arizona’s up-tempo offense relies on sharing the ball (the Wildcats have ranked in the top five nationally in assist rate in both seasons under Lloyd), while Love has a reputation as a ball-stopper.” “On the other hand, the Love fit in Arizona is highly appealing if he fully buys in. An up-tempo offense with good spacing and other ballhandlers is precisely the type of system that Love should thrive in.” https://www.si.com/.amp/college/2023/05/30/why-unc-transfer-caleb-love-worth-risk-arizona
  3. I'm impressed that your 5th grade team was named after a casino
  4. More than message board chatter on Spencer. I’m aware Timberlake is no longer available, that’s why I said would have been a great fit. I U was clearly interested in both for a reason. Volume, high percentage shooters are in high demand. But, as these guys show, they exist, https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/report-indicates-iu-basketball-in-contact-with-rutgers-transfer-guard-cam-spencer/
  5. Timberlake or Spencer would have been a great fit
  6. Yes, Smith and Loyer shot 34% over their last 10 games as starting freshmen guards on a 1 seed. We saw how that turned out.
  7. He was told to come back when his wingspan reaches 7'11"
  8. Maybe they just didn't like his book report on "Just Give Me the Damn Ball"
  9. Some people shouldn’t be allowed near the Twitter machine. No upside in this for Irsay https://www.foxnews.com/sports/colts-owner-jim-irsay-amends-all-time-great-list-after-backlash-over-peyton-manning-snub.amp
  10. “I think the portal has made me take a deeper look into how quickly a high school player can help contribute to winning,” a coach in the ACC told On3. “Prior to the portal era, I feel like you could wait until conference play of their sophomore year for them to take that leap. With the ability to go into the portal in the spring and get an experienced college player, I feel like I’m less likely to want to wait as long for a high school player to develop.” “You know you can’t win with freshmen, but you can’t afford a roster of good transfers,” a coach in the Big 12 said. “So you have to go out and find that sweet spot every year. Each cycle, you can only take two or three high school kids, but because they come cheaper, you have to take two or three. You just can’t take more than three of four transfers without breaking the bank.” The A10 coach continued, “We don’t recruit high school kids as hard as we used to. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day.”
  11. When I was a student, during the CBK era, I went into AH and the team was practicing. So I just stood up in the stands and watched for a few minutes. A student manager came up and asked what I was doing. I said I had purchased a concert ticket and just wanted to know where my seat would be (true). I was told I had to leave. No brief chat with CBK. 😀
  12. Because it's May and the season is 5 months away. Now let's do Muggsy Bogues and Manute Bol:
  13. Yes, hopefully we got in early and he becomes a good player at IU
  14. I did watch the highlight film. They were a 7-5 D3 team that beat up on bad teams and got rolled by good teams. Three wins were against D4 teams (smaller schools). I’ve learned to not read too much into selective highlight films without allowing for opposing talent levels. http://www.joeeitel.com/hsfoot/teams.jsp?teamID=1550&year=2022
