  1. It’s surprising that we haven’t seen any obvious benefit from the development of JHS this season. You’d think a lot of wing players would have wanted some of that action.
  2. This guy declared for the draft and got invited to G League Elite Camp? What am I missing? "Dayton forward Mike Sharavjamts is entering the 2023 NBA Draft, per sources. The 6-foot-8 freshman wing averaged 5.6 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 23.1 minutes in 32 appearances with the Flyers this past season." "The Mongolia native shot 38.8% from the field, 31.5% beyond the arc, and 67.7% at the foul line. Sharavjamts ranked 16th in the Atlantic 10 in defensive box plus/minus (1.4), 20th in defensive rating (100.5), and 17th in assist percentage (21.5%)."
  3. Yes, the Silna brothers bought the Carolina Cougars for $1 million, moved them to St Louis for two seasons and were paid $800 million
  4. I grew up with the ABA Pacers. Those were fun teams and the ABA game was more entertaining than the NBA. The fairgrounds coliseum was always 110 degrees with a haze of cigarette smoke.
  5. As author of the thread, I’m granting wide latitude
  6. Yeah, it’s weird. Some G League teams are in the same city as the club. Others aren’t even close. Miami’s G league team is in Sioux Falls
  7. They have Banchero, but otherwise the Magic seem like such a dead franchise
  8. The Pacers were next to last in attendance. Does moving their G League team to the same metro potentially increase ticket sales? Or do some folks in the northern burbs say, "I'll just watch the former Mad Ants for a lower price and not drive downtown"
  9. Don't know if Mad Anthony Wayne was ever in Noblesville. 😀 But, then again, there aren't many lakes in LA and not much Jazz in Utah
  10. Thought it might be worth having a separate thread for the Pacers, instead of just in the NBA thread: The Mad Ants are moving to Noblesville, where they're building a new arena: "The city hopes the arena will be built for the 2024-25 season, and the Pacers say the Mad Ants will play in Gainbridge Fieldhouse until construction is completed." "The franchise will maintain the Mad Ants name through the 2023-24 season, at which point a new name will be chosen. 11. Woody has challenged Payne to a biathlon of pickleball and cornhole
  12. I wasn't clear, I guess. From the article, it sounded like his HS coach favored STJ and KS. Not that he was saying who Mgbako favored.
  13. He already has NIL deals As a high school athlete in the state of New Jersey, he is also allowed to begin building his NIL brand. He signed with CAA for representation in June. He’s promoted the Google Pixel, appearing in a commercial next to Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum and Candace Parker in October. And now Mgbako has signed with the energy drink company G Fuel,
  14. ????? Gunn and Banks were still in HS a year ago. They have a year in the system, which is big, but CJ was a 3 star (#178) and Kaleb a 4 star (#92). I thought Banks showed promise last year and has the most promise of breaking into the lineup. Unless his rating is way off, Mgbako is at a different level in talent
  15. Correct. Ant Edwards was the top HS prospect in 2019. He went to GA because it was close to home. They were 5-13 in the SEC. He was still the #1 draft pick. KY is the place where guys fall in the draft
