  1. When I was a student, during the CBK era, I went into AH and the team was practicing. So I just stood up in the stands and watched for a few minutes. A student manager came up and asked what I was doing. I said I had purchased a concert ticket and just wanted to know where my seat would be (true). I was told I had to leave. No brief chat with CBK. 😀
  2. Because it's May and the season is 5 months away. Now let's do Muggsy Bogues and Manute Bol:
  3. Yes, hopefully we got in early and he becomes a good player at IU
  4. I did watch the highlight film. They were a 7-5 D3 team that beat up on bad teams and got rolled by good teams. Three wins were against D4 teams (smaller schools). I’ve learned to not read too much into selective highlight films without allowing for opposing talent levels. http://www.joeeitel.com/hsfoot/teams.jsp?teamID=1550&year=2022
  5. Look at the offer list. We’re back to getting players from Ohio who only had MAC offers.
  6. No one with a first name of Fletcher will ever be 1st team all B1G
  7. He'll never get past their Admissions
  8. That would be the Lance Jones who attempted nearly 8 threes per game at S ILL last year, hitting 28%. He averaged 13.8 ppg on 12.5 attempts and has an assist/TO ratio below 1.0.
  9. All day: "On the court, the 6-foot-4 Spencer delivered 13.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting .434 from deep and .894 from the free-throw line in 2022-23. His game-winning shots at top-ranked Purdue and eventual Big Ten runner-up Northwestern were the Scarlet Knights’ biggest highlights." "In regard to last season’s Rutgers team, Spencer led the team in minutes played (1074) and was third in minutes per game (31.6). He tied Cliff Omoruyi for scoring average at 13.2 points per game, but fell one point short for the team lead with 448 points. In addition to being second in steals, he was also second in assists behind Paul Mulcahy in averaging 3.1 per game. Lastly, Cam was also second to Mulcahy with a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio." "Just as much as his impact on the court, Spencer fit the program’s culture extremely well. He lived in the gym, was a total team player and cared about winning above all else."
  10. If accurate, this is further proof that no one cares about Rutgers. All of the potential for NIL in the NY metro area and they can't put together enough money? What does Rutgers bring to the B1G again? Hello, Dylan Harper?
  11. He said that, but then he somewhat contradicted the statement. Maybe it was over in Mgbako's mind, but nobody at IU knew that. "So, at the end of the day, once (the visit) had happened, you wipe your hands and you just sit and wait patiently until you kind of get that sign. And we didn't get that sign until very late. No one knew. "He actually, he kind of told us he was calling at a certain time (on decision day), just to let us know one way or the other. So we all gathered up and a big roar came out... It was an exciting moment for our staff because he is a really good talent and we're excited to have him.
  12. NCAA enforcement division. Is anything a violation any more?
  13. Yeah, how many reclamation projects do we want on one team?
  14. Good article about this: “Being fired is part of the job as a coach of a professional sports franchise, especially in the NBA. Of the last five coaches to win the finals, four have since been fired. They are Lue (won in 2016, fired in fall of ’18), Nurse (won in 2019, fired in April), Frank Vogel (won in 2020, fired in ’22) and Budenholzer (won in 2021, fired last week).” “There are only three markets in the NBA where any player who comes through knows that their ego, their will and their personal desires, will not be enough to topple a coach. KD and Draymond Green aren’t too big for Kerr, Jimmy Butler isn’t above Spoelstra in Miami and Leonard wasn’t more important than Pop in San Antonio.” “Think about every market — Milwaukee, Cleveland, Memphis, New Orleans, Dallas — where organizations are terrified that their star player may grow unhappy and demand a trade before his contract is up.” “It’s not a great way to run a business, and at least some of it is related to the relative weakness of the modern NBA head coach. They are typically the bosses in name only.” https://theathletic.com/4525649/2023/05/17/doc-rivers-fired-76ers-nba-coaching-carousel/
  15. I’m not aware of a high profile transfer committing to another school and then returning, but maybe it’s happened. It seems like a lot of players who test the portal and then return occur after a coaching change.
  16. He committed to MI on 4/7. This looks bad for MI. If I’m Howard, I’m not happy.
  17. So, who’s looking for Love on the rebound?
  18. This may be behind a paywall l, but it opened for me. Has JHS going to Golden State at 19. Has TJD at 54 going to Sacramento. Would the Pacers really make two second round picks (32 and 50) and not pick TJD? https://theathletic.com/4513228/2023/05/16/nba-draft-lottery-mock-draft-wembanyama/
