  1. Has anyone ever heard of a chop block penalty being called against a defense? It happened to Eastside twice in the third quarter tonight, both at crucial moments.
  2. I don't usually pay much attention to what these guys say during games, but I found myself getting very annoyed with him last night.
  3. The Summit Athletic Conference (SAC) did not get a team to semi state for the first time in 34 years. Old school reactions: "Wow, quite a run for that conference. Maybe they'll bounce back next year." Modern, social media-driven reactions: "Wow, how embarrassing! The SAC needs to do away with its scheduling format so its teams can start going deeper in the playoffs! Need tougher games in the regular season! Gotta prepare for the tournament by playing the best!" I don't have a dog in that fight, so I don't care what the SAC decides to do, but sometimes, you just have to accept that you lost to a better team and live with it. Indianapolis is on a different plane than the rest of the state when it comes to football, and Fort Wayne teams playing them in August isn't going to magically change anything that happens should they meet again in November.
  4. I can honestly say I never thought I'd see an IU women's basketball team ranked this high. Pretty crazy what Teri Moren has been able to do here. Even crazier that people wanted her fired after 3-4 seasons.
  5. Did he ever send you a picture of what happened next?
  6. We play them next month. Might want to be careful with comments like this.
  7. I've always found the sport of college football so bizarre in that the majority of teams spend 3 months trying to win half their games so they can play one more game.
  8. Eastside and Adams Central have incredible athletes and speed for small, rural public schools.
  9. Purdue's ranking was by design. The CFP committee wants OSU playing 4 consecutive ranked opponents so they don't have to include Cincy.
  10. I didn't think much of it at the time, but Sampson James transferring to Purdue a month before the season started may have been more of a red flag than anyone wanted to realize.
  11. Funny, when we put up 35 against OSU a year ago, all I heard from Purdue fans was that OSU simply took its foot off the gas.
  12. How long are timeouts in college football actually supposed to last?
  13. Can't wait to hear all the cute "But, they didn't give up!" drivel after this one.
  14. This isn't the least bit surprising. Purdue does this after every big game they've won under Brohm.
  15. I'm at the point where I'm seriously wondering if there's something going on behind the scenes, like some sort of disconnect between the players and coaches. There's just no other explanation for how we can be this bad.
  16. Fresh off a loss to Western Illinois, Nebraska is down five at the half to Sam Houston State. Starting to wonder how much longer Hoiberg will be around.
  17. Said it awhile back, this all started with Tom Brady the year after he was injured. It laid the groundwork for refs to selectively throw flags if anyone laid a finger on a QB.
  18. Saw a Michigan fan post that same image, with Penn State instead of Iowa, 3 years ago.
  19. You can't honestly believe that Iowa deserved that ranking.
  20. Years ago, when the Big Ten was about to expand and include Nebraska, the idea of divisions was discussed on our boards. Someone proposed a division that had us, OSU, Michigan, and Penn State. The consensus was if that ever happened, it would be a death knell for our program. It didn't happen at first, but it came to fruition thanks to Rutgers and Maryland. Having said that, this season has still been a massive failure largely due to the ineptitude of our coaching staff. We look more like a team that lost 19 starters than a team that returned 19 starters.
  21. Tinfoil hat time: Purdue was given a ranking so that OSU's next 4 opponents will be ranked (including Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship), giving the committee an excuse to keep them above Cincy even if the Buckeyes lose a 2nd game.
  22. Michigan was up 21 earlier, just like we were last night. They're now up by five.
  23. It's basketball season. We've moved our attention from the red-headed stepchild to the favorite child who could get straight A's but gets mostly C's and D's.
  24. This was hands down the biggest recruiting failure of the Archie Miller era.
  25. I was hoping we'd see Lander in the second half if we kept the lead around 20. Obviously we couldn't do that. I'm also kind of bummed that Lander can't get on the court unless we're up 20+ against a MAC team. I said this in the game thread, but it seems like he would have been better off playing his senior year of high school ball.
