  1. Southwood at Adams Central has been moved to Bluffton tomorrow night due to poor field conditions at Adams Central. I got a laugh out of this because Adams Central is very salt of the earth when it comes to football, and their fans frequently brag about having the best natural grass in northeast Indiana. Obviously that wasn't the case this week.
  2. I want to see kids who are having fun playing a sport they love, not kids who look like they had to spend the whole holiday listening to the grownups talk about the stock market.
  3. I looked at our schedule for next season and noticed we play at Nebraska again, just like in 2019. Northwestern is at home again as well. Is there some reason these two are unchanged? Did Scott Frost get down on his knees and beg the Big Ten to spare him from having to show his face in Bloomington?
  4. Wow. Maryland is awful. If we lose this one, I could seriously see us losing out.
  5. I distinctly remember a game against the Ravens in Brady's first season post-injury where the Ravens were flagged for roughing the passer, twice, and Brady wasn't even knocked down on either play, and one of them the official only threw the flag after Brady looked his way and motioned for a flag to be thrown. The league made it very clear early on that any team that tried to hit Brady would pay a price.
  6. I miss the Tony Dungy teams that were among the least penalized in the league. People ragged on Dungy for being overly cautious and conservative, but his teams were disciplined and didn't shoot themselves in the foot.
  7. Always love it when a lineman holds on a play that resulted in a minimal gain.
  8. A year ago today, we beat Penn State. It feels more like a century.
  9. A season like this is a little easier to digest if you're like me and hoped for 6-6 with a brutal schedule, knowing a regression year was inevitable at some point, instead of thinking we had magically turned into a program that was going to win 8 or 9 games every year just because.
  10. The board seemed a bit quiet today. I can't help but wonder if apathy is starting to set in.
  11. Two of the last three games, Purdue has been shut out in the second half.
  12. It's pretty telling how Brohm's best recruits are now upperclassmen and a so-so Wisconsin team still lays the wood to them.
  13. "WHaT a DifFeREnCe a WeEk MAkEs!" --Purdue fans
  14. Remember when Wisconsin used to be good?
  15. How many times is Wisconsin going to false start today?
  16. Oklahoma would finish 5th in the Big Ten East. Good lord that team is a mess right now.
  17. I was surprised to see Wisconsin is a 5 point favorite. They haven't looked very impressive this year.
  18. Is it normal for programs to have as many mid-season transfers as we're seeing? Doesn't give me good vibes about the direction we're heading.
  19. That is a great observation, considering the painted red area is the only part of the field where a touchdown may be scored.
  20. I had a dream the other night that we were playing OSU. It was tied at 28 with about 8 minutes left in the game. Somehow, Penix was back at QB. We had the ball near their 30 yard line. Penix dropped back to pass, got chased out of the pocket, kept running backward for some reason, then from midfield, fired a pass all the way to the end zone. It was incomplete, but OSU got flagged for pass interference. The official who made the call started getting pelted with trash from the thousands of OSU fans in attendance, so he decided to apply NFL rules and make it a spot foul, giving us the ball at the 1 yard line. Unfortunately, I woke up at this point, so I can't tell you how we failed to convert on 4th down.
  21. My best guess is the refs remembered they were in New England and forgot that Brady no longer plays for the Pats.
  22. Makes sense. News media types are fickle and tend to live in the moment.
  23. I'm saying it doesn't make sense to drop a team that much while at the same time rewarding the team that beat them. Eight teams got more votes than Purdue in the Coaches' Poll. That would make Purdue 34th in that poll while being 25th in the AP. You don't usually see that much of a gap between where a team comes in for both polls. This feels like what the SEC does whenever one of its higher-ranked teams loses to an unranked team. Texas A&M and UK both got ranked after beating Alabama and Florida. They want to try and excuse the loss while getting more teams ranked.
  24. Who actually does the AP rankings? There is way too much recency bias going into football rankings this year. This is the second week in a row that a team went from no votes to ranked in one week. Also, it seems like a bit of a contradiction to punish Iowa so severely by dropping them 9 spots while at the same time inserting Purdue into the top 25.
  25. Really wish people would stop trying to write off the past two seasons and just admit they drank way too much koolaid before this season.
