  1. Outstanding take. I would add, being in the East would be viewed as more of an advantage if we had 4 non-conference games. 3 gimmes, and 1 power 5. Let's face it, our goal is to make a bowl game. If we have an exceptional season, we look for a New Years Day bowl. Love your view on the offense. We need a deviation from relying on power football like Mich, OSU, and PSU. Tempo and spreading the field allow us to find advantages and defensive breakdowns. But we need a gunslinger with fast decision making, ACCURACY, and a quick release for that to be successful.
  2. I would guess retirement, but if some NBA team gave him a shot, I would think he'd take it.
  3. There is a 1% chance Cal ever coaches in Assembly Hall again. The reason it isn't 0% is I never speak in absolutes!
  4. You're absolutely right, times have changed the balance of powers. All of those schools were doormats in the early 90's. We usually got the best of CC, but they were solid. Beat them once in a top 10 match-up.
  5. Co. City had some very solid teams in the 90's. Chris Judd was an absolute beast.
  6. Washington should attract some elite qb's with Deboer at the helm. Hope Tuttle finds a place he can show what he can do.
  7. The timing makes more sense based on his academic schedule. The dynamic in the qb room has to be pretty interesting now with Tuttle and the coaches.
  8. Absolutely not the move of a leader to do this midseason, but I get his frustration. If he and Bazelak were truly 50/50 as Allen said, how does Tuttle never get at least a few series? Connor has struggled mightily with decision making and throwing high. Pass protection has been putrid, so I'll cut him a little slack, but his past statistics show this is pretty much his normal. We know what Connor brings, and it's not working this season.
  9. I really like Allen, and think he wants the best for IU. He can recruit, and he seems to develop players. Not ready to give up on him. He just seems blindly loyal to certain coaches and players. To a fault. His failure to adapt and make appropriate changes may be his undoing. Hope he takes a long look at needed changes and makes them. The Hiller situation makes me question whether he can or will. He's not going anywhere, so I'll roll with him and the Hoosiers.
  10. Carey can't change much in terms of O-line blocking this week, but it will be interesting to see if he can have an impact as the run game coordinator. Hopefully more creative usage of Henderson and Lucas.
  11. That's a VERY good point. We never have solid pressure without blitzing, and even then it's not very consistent. Both lines need significant improvement.
  12. Liked his blunt, no-nonsense approach. Love his passion for IU and coach Allen. He knows it won't be an overnight change, but he's willing to see it through to help his Hoosiers. Game on.
  13. Completely understand. Just glad the change took place so our Hoosiers can get back on an upward trajectory. Can't overstate just how much a consistently bad offensive line can effect the offense AND defense.
  14. Defense has played great. Still need to get more pressure on the qb without blitzing, but they kept us competitive.
  15. Don't take needless sacks. More Henderson on 1st. Other than that, solid.
  16. If it rains hard enough, they may fumble some snaps. Where's your optimism?
  17. We'll need the rain storm from Caddyshack!
  18. Exactly. He was even getting some Heisman hype. Baffling for him to go completely unmentioned.
  19. That is an unacceptable slight. Only a few of those guys I take over a healthy Penix with a solid line and offensive weapons.
  20. That will be a major factor. They both make the offense more explosive, and Camper's length, athleticism, and hands are a great security blanket for our qb.
  21. There has to be more to it. With his success and lifetime connection to the school, it just doesn't add up. Hard to see how you improve on what he did there.
  22. That's a great question. Our secondary was supposed to be a strength. Lack of pass rush is definitely a factor. More time to throw lets our db's get exposed easier.
  23. That certainly helped. As did playing at home, and us having our two best receivers out.
  24. We're sitting on 3 wins, and have 4 potentially winnable games against Rutgers, MSU, Maryland, and Purdue. Injuries and momentum will play a big part in how it plays out. Our margin for error got much smaller to make a bowl game with the loss last night. Hope we catch a break and get the ship headed back in the right direction. Can't have another total collapse like last season.
