Wanna see a good coach? Watch the womenās team spank Iowa right now. Watch the chemistry and continuity from our lady Hoosiers. Smart efficient offense and in your face defense. Pride heart and high energy. Win or lose this game you can be proud that these girls will leave it all on the floor.Ā
Tell me one IU menās player that can shoot the rock like some of these ladies. Not a single one can do what these girls do in game. They are the face of Terry Morens character, attitude, energy and IQ.
These ladies arenāt near as athletic as the men but much higher in fundamentals. Terrys ability to translate and connect with her team is obvious.Ā
Womenās team plays dang good basketball! Now that was fun to watchā¦take some notes on your way out the door woody.Ā

I canāt handle another year of Mike Woodson and wonāt attend another game until he is gone. This is absolutely miserableā¦please find somebody that plays a modern style of basketball and recruits winnersĀ

Transfer Julian Tonghini- 3IP 1H 3K to finish that game off. Tonghini transferred from Boston College. I should have been a little more in tune that this might have been pretty important for us.. JT threw big innings for a Boston College squad that was ranked a fair amount of the year and were a regional team 3.86 ERA in 28 innings..he has 2 years of eligibility.Ā
Grable, Keyster, Vogel, Buhr, Holderfield, Rushing, Ey all didn't pitch this weekend. I'm sure a couple of them will throw Tues.Ā
I'd be shocked if we don't throw 6-7 pitchers on Tues.Ā
pitching seemed pretty solid over weekend which is promising canāt help but think how good we would be Sinnardā¦it still stingsĀ

The good news is as stated by others this is totally fixable! We have some nice pieces on the roster for next year and if we had a couple impact guards to go with Mcneeley who looks like a stud weāre back! but I have no faith after 3 years that Woodson is willing to change style and scheme and play smaller more modern on offense and stop with the over helping Nail, slot, rim defense.

We will probably triple down on playing big and start Mcneeley at the 2 and MM at the 3ā¦seriously though it wouldnāt completely shock me knowing how much woody loves his big lineups SMH

The only way MM being back matters is if Mike moves him to the 4 and he accepts that role.
100% but Good luck with that unfortunately

Yeah, as much as I think IU needs a change, if things fall right this is also really fixable. If Woodson can convince the right guys to come back and he has a pretty solid track record of getting guys to return/not transfer. But, he's going to have to change how he recruits and the style of play.Ā
McNeely, while obviously a great shooter, is more athletic and explosive than MM. Get McNeely at the 3, MM at the 4 and Reneau at the 5. Galloway back. Then go hit the transfer portal hard for veteran guards and wings that are smart, tough and can create and/or make shots.Ā
Problem is, it could just as easily go other way where we lose almost all of those guys and it's basically a rebuild.Ā
Unfortunately you would probably have a better shot at hitting the power ball than getting woody to play MM at the 4ā¦incredibly frustratingĀ

If we are going alternative please run out an Indiana Script jersey

Do you blame Sisley with the awful scheme we play on both ends of the floor?? Sisley was a clear IU lean from the beginning but the product is so bad at IU right now you canāt blame him for looking elsewhereā¦this is on Woodson and staff

Hypothetically speakingā¦Iāll just say it. Woody was the dude to turn around Archieās mess and make IU attractive again. With NIL, IU needs to move in a more modern direction. I may catch hell for this, but offer Chris Beard whatever. The dude wins. This fan base craves winning. Thatās what he does. Wouldnāt lose steam in recruiting at allā¦modernize the program.Ā
Beard would be a home run hire

In two games, PU attempted 87 FTs against NW. Difference was in Evanston, NW attempted 32, but 8 in WeLaf. NW is just the better team and exposed PU. Teams with quick guards who can score will be the end of the Boilers.Ā
The BIG ten should look into that game..46 free throws??? I had to look a few times to believe itā¦makes the league look bad!
-
46 free throws in a game is just absurdā¦I mean thatās atrocious and it will get them best in tournament because they arenāt going to get that home cookinĀ

Including this... you'll see John A Logan listedĀ Top 10.Ā
Multiple past, VERY successful transfers in years past--- 5th rd pick Tanner Gordon and Logan Kaletha..Ā
If Keyster is as successful at IU as those two, goodness, that will GREATLY lessen the loss of Sinnard.Ā
I'm actually a little surprised that move hasn't gotten more pub-- last 2 seasons in JUCO 75IP 1.92ERA .95WHIP 83Ks 21BB 50HĀ
... IMO-- he's a "crafty LHP" so the analysts want to see how his stuff does at the D1 level? Idk. Idk enough about it... I think he only throws 85-88, but can do a lot with it. He also didn't start many games at that level.. his #s were spread out across 20 appearances... we'll see. I think we got a good one.Ā
Ā
Really really hoping we have few guys step up in the mound. That will determine the ceiling of this team. Iām not real concerned about our ability to score. Losing sinnard will still sting the whole year jsit unbelievableĀ

How many banners would we have with Sampson?? Houston is at least top 25 every yearā¦sad our administration ruined thatĀ

While I get what youāre saying about the 2 bigs thereās a problem with it. IU has to play Reneau and Ware or they canāt stay in a game with anyone. Now I do blame Woodson for limiting most of the roster to just one position for example he seems to only play MM as a 3. That said those two have to be on the floor.Ā
I think we would be better splitting the minutes between those 2 or playing Malik or Ware more on the outside could also be a combination of the both to open up the lane and play more modernĀ

IU doesnāt have guards that shoot it well. Itās just a sad reality thatās the fault of the coaches with who theyāve recruitedĀ
True! But The Scheme of playing 2 bigs with one sitting on each block and playing ābuddy ballā isnāt a great attraction if Iām a top tier guard..Iāve wanted IU to play smaller, faster, and shoot more 3ās the last 2 years. Iāve always wanted to try Mack at 4 this year. Has never happened. It seems like our offense looked the best in games like Kennesaw ( we scored 100) is when we play 1 bigā¦Ware was out that game from Covid so we went small..or the Minnesota game when Malik was in foul trouble so we went small.
Look at the final 4 the last couple yearsā¦is there a swingle team that plays how we do with 2 bigs?? Iām honestly curious..Miami kicked our butt and went to final 4..:they started 4 guards

This season is frustrating but I fully expect IU to go all out in the portal this year. Woodson knows he needs to get this roster fixed and there will need to be several additions. He is running out of time to get this roster and program to were he wanted it before riding off into retirement.
What guard is going to what to come and play at IU in offense that pounds the ball inside and doesnāt shoot 3āsā¦kinda tough to recruit in this styleĀ

This mess is 100% Mike Woodson's mess.
This is year 3 - this is his team and his guys. We are trending towards being the worst team, sans Crean's first three years, since before Bobby Knight was coach. That is unfathomable.
He blamed Edey going off on not having TJD and Race.... two guys he didn't recruit.
The refs sucked, but he chose to sit our only good chance at winning the entire first half. That's on him and no one else.
We have more 15+ point losses in 2.5 years of Mike Woodson that we did in 4 years of Archie, or in the last 7 years of Tom Crean.Ā
We run a bad offensive scheme and a bad defensive scheme. We've been a bad rebounding team the entire time he's been here. He's stubborn and when he gets questioned he is frequently combative.
He's got two months to show why he shouldn't have an incredibly hot seat.Ā
Couldnāt agree moreĀ

Nice to see MM improve off the bounce! Good use of lineups from Woodson for first time all year. Not sure why it took middle January to figure out mass subs donāt work but better late than neverĀ

How did we not once in the first half go to the XJ, Galloway, Gunn, Walker, Reneau lineup?
Against any team with a pulse you can't have both Reneau and Ware out, and you can never have Sparks, Banks and Walker in together.Ā
Absolutely insane to have a Cupps, Gunn, Banks, Walker, Sparks lineup in. How can you be a real coach and play that lineup in a real game?
Absurd lineups!!! Beyond madā¦how can you coach for so long and not have a better clue than that??? I thought Crean had bad lineup decisionsā¦.Iām exhausted by Woodson in his lineup decisions and defensive schemeā¦heās not the guy.Ā
