We won't be able to hide from this. This legit affects our ceiling.

I'm bullish that last year's FR crew will take a jump (Foley, Risedorph, Whiteaker, and Phillips).. but man.

Honestly thought with Wiggins making it to campus to that it be our best team since World Series squad…thought we had a legit chance at World Series

IU had some really good assistant coaches there for a while.  DeBoer was probably the best coach we have ever had.  Wommack, Hart, etc.  Our coaching the last two years has been pathetic.  We need to pony up some bucks better coaching and the wins and better players will follow.

Losing our best assistant coaches over the last few years has been detrimental…I think we may have found ourselves a great O line coach now…not sure how long he stays…Jury still out on the O coordinator and D coordinator…

I like IU football but admittedly don't follow them as close as most of you. I'm a PSU football fan and consider IU my 2nd team.

With that said, I think what's frustrating is that it seems like Allen has recruited as well as anyone previously has at IU, maybe even better.

But given the division IU is in, it doesn't really matter. There is no way IU is going to recruit in football to the level of OSU, PSU or Michigan. It's even tough to recruit to fhe level of MSU or Maryland.

Put IU in the other division and you probably have a pretty consistent bowl team. Once you're a consistent bowl team then it's easier to up the recruiting a level from there.

There's just no realistic path to that given the division IU is in.

Exactly! IU having a top 10 schedule every year is insane…Good thing is it all ends next year

  4. All I ask is Allen play the right guys…continuing to let Shivers be lead back over Henderson last year was hard to watch…that and not getting Lucas the ball last year…I didn’t watch last 3 games. Couldn’t take it anymore…I understand not beating Michigan, Penn State, and OSU..at least play the right guys and put em in right spots is all i ask for someone getting paid millions…loved Allen for first 5 years…he disappointed me last year…that and allowing Hiller to be on staff WAY to long. Hurt momentum of program we had built...hopefully we get things back on track this year.

I can't remember a more impressively built freshman than Jakai. Dude looks like he is a 25 year.ild man that has been lifting hiw whole life.

I am excited for him to get healthy, and see what he becomes. He seems loaded talent, potential and and a really competitive mindset.

What’s the health status on Jakai? Does anyone know?

Trey Galloway is a good role player.

I thought the 2013 team lacked "role players"... Elston would have been great in that role, but couldn't stay healthy.

Since then.. Hartman, Juwan Morgan+OG were fun as role players as FR... OG shutting down Jamaal Murray is still fantastic.

It wouldn't surprise me if Kaleb Banks fits into this mold, at least this season.

Banks is going to be a stud

I feel like that’s not terribly surprising after the last few seasons for you guys you know?

Yup and it’s not surprising that the two coordinators on both sides of the ball that lead to all that success are now leading top 30 programs in the nation… big thing for IU tho is we FINALLY are going to get out from under the BIG East…the program really only had a ceiling of 8-9 wins being in the East.

Doubt he will be our leading scorer. I do feel he may be our best player.

I strongly feel he is the most important.

But we will he a better team if he is about our 3rd leading scorer, best defender and floor captain.

What he average the last 6-9 games of the 22 season for us when we went on that run? 16 I think? I’m guessing that lead us in scoring that stretch or TJD might had more.

Agreed though being the leader he needs to know when to get his and get others involved.. we need him to get guys around him good shots and get them confidence for sure. I don’t think he is anywhere less than 2nd on team in scoring though unless he isn’t as explosive from foot injury

I don't disagree. UK isn't Purdue though. Purdue does a great of developing role type players to excel in their roles.

Like I am questioning UKs investment in him and their ability to develop him, not necessarily questioning Joey with that opinion, if that makes sense.

100 percent agree.. UK not a good fit for what he needs I’m afraid but will see..I wish IU had room to take him and let him develop..he’s upside is much better than Leals in my opinion but just on to many top guys in 24 class to give him scholarship.

Couldnt agree more. He can for sure do that.. I do NOT think he is capable of doing that at UK. But, we will see.

I think he needed to get out of the state of Indiana no matter what he did.

Idk I thought Purdue would been perfect… they are known to redshirt guys and really develop.. he fits the Ryan cline, Dakota Mathies types but Joey is better jumper than them..he might end up there eventually…I don’t think he plays anywhere right away at high major.. it will be 2 years… doesn’t play at UK as a freshman is my guess. And then probably gets recruited over….but In the long run this kids got potential to be a player just needs to mature

And thats fine. Could for sure happen, but 100% Woodson and staff aren't negligent for not going after Joey harder than they did. And that's what the post before yours was alluding to.

Same way they acted like Woodson was soooo negligent in the 2023 class, Ledlum, etc.

Simply put..we aren't "gettin them all". Never have.

Oh no I don’t blame Woodson at all… I just saw some people trashing Joey when he is better than what people are giving him credit for but like I’ve stated he needs 2 years to get the muscle he needs. And I think he fits in a Kopp role very well.. ball won’t be in his hands much.. he will be asked to space the floor with shooting and then be athletic around rim on back cuts and In transition..
