Emoni Bates' felony charges set to be dismissed next week and he'll be reinstated to the University.  In the deal he will plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge and that will be dismissed upon completion of a diversion program.

Correct, but that doesn't contradict what I said. 9 guys averaged double digits, and then two more who didn't average double digits played in 30+ games. 6 guys played in 30+ games and averaged double digits.

I don't see anyone in their top 11 in minutes played you could make a case wasn't a part of their regular rotation. The only reason I'm harping on UNC is it was the first example Scott gave and it proves the exact opposite of what he was saying.

Yeah, I only glanced at their stats because you guys did. I think you both make good points.  NC played a tight rotation as the season went on but that was necessary due, at least in part, because those two guys went down. I thought it interesting that they seemed to find their stride when Garcia was out. Seemed to be a chemistry thing and not something that that IU could duplicate.

Out of Carolina’s top 11 guys in TOTAL minutes played, every single one of them averaged double digit minutes, played in 30 or more games, or both.

Thats absolutely not a team that wasn’t playing a deep rotation. You don’t play I. 30 games in mop up duty, you have a role for a few minutes per game at a minimum if you’re getting in that many games.

I see 9 guys averaged double digit minutes and only 8 guys played 30 games or more.  They most likely would have had 10 guys play 30+ games but Dawson Garcia and Anthony Harris, who averaged 20.6 and 11.7 mpg, were lost for the season so NC tightened their rotation and also went on their run to the title game. I don't know how that will relate to IU this year but I trust Coach Woodson will figure it out.

I think it's actually pretty likely to happen. I know at this point Bronny is probably an undrafted level talent or second round at best. But with that said, if you're OKC, Orlando, Sacramento, New Orleans and by that time Zion has forced his way out, etc., and you have something like the 23rd pick, why wouldn't you draft him? Cleveland to have LeBron retire there?

I think there are a lot of teams that would draft Bronny to have this story.

The financial win of having LeBron and Bronny for a season would he massive. You're going to be on ESPN and TNT every night, you're selling out every game, you're sponsorship and advertising revenue is going to go through the roof, jersey and apparel sales,  etc., etc.

It could also potentially help lure Bryce, Bronny's younger brother, who, at 15 years old, is 6'6". He could be a much more intriguing prospect.

So are 46% uncommitted?  I can see the extra covid year all players were blanketed with causing a glut of players, lack of scholarships, and leaving some on the outside looking in.

I doubt 46% are uncommitted. Looking at the Verbal Commits list, it seems a vast majority have new teams.  I noticed a guy from Ball State transferred with no new team listed. They had a coaching change so turnover is to be expected. Ball State had 5 guys leave, 3 are reported to new teams and 1 guy appears to be playing professionally in Finland. Obviously that's a tiny sample and I'm sure there are players that will be left out but I'd bet it's a much smaller number than 46%.

I know they're working on shooting. Mine was a tongue in check response about a handful of posters who complain about every Marshall post saying that working on shooting is more important.

I know it was. When Kopp said "ya'll don't need to see any of that" I just thought a few people DO need to see players  working on shooting and a lot more people would probably like to see it as most fans are starved for any type of IU b ball content.

    But shooting...

Go to about the 7:15 mark of the video and you'll see the return of The Gun shot machine.  We don't get to see it in action but apparently Kopp, at least, is using it. I don't like that he had to pull it out of hiding and I haven't seen anyone post about using it since Mo Creek.

A strong physical slasher, who can't shoot threes (24%).

For me, if a player can't shoot from the outside, he's not a guard.

I understand the value of such a player.  Especially for defense.

But I'd really like to sign kids who shoot 45% from three, since it's such an area of need for us.  We've been at or near the bottom of Big Ten shooting for 5 years in a row.

Sounds like another IU recruit from Paul VI, Stanford Robinson. (although Robinson transferred to Findlay Prep)

Would love to know more than 1 example.....

Makur Maker went to Howard, got hurt, played two games and missed the rest of the season with injury. Signed to play professionally in Australia. Charles Bassey spent 3 years at Western Kentucky and was a 2nd round draft pick.  Mitchell Robinson committed to Western Kentucky but never played for them.  He trained on his own for a year and was a 2nd round draft pick.  All big guys and two were foreign born.  Maybe they just weren't cut out for college ball. Maker was probably over rated but the other two are in the NBA.

"After carefully considering all of my options, and with the uncertainty of COVID-19, I have decided to opt out of the college basketball season to focus on my dreams to become a professional basketball player and train for the 2021 NBA draft," Eastern posted on Twitter. "I will be signing with an agent and chase what I've always worked for.

"I genuinely want to thank Howard University and the coaching staff for a tremendous opportunity."

    😂

He changed his mind and went into music, and maybe investing in crypto, instead.

The west side of Ft. Wayne looks like a war zone. Officially, a "derecho" hit last night.

Temps in the upper 90's with heat index at 110 and 28,000 customers without power. I & M telling them that it will be until Thursday night until power is restored.

We got it pretty bad up here in Angola as well. Fortunately, I still have power, but nearby lines are down and gas lines have broken.

Man, I hate to hear that. Such misery and a danger to lives.
